I have been very, very slowly watching Crimson Resolve, as it was an event I was suggested to watch before diving into Arc 2 of Magia Record, and ofc I will follow all suggestions from those who have already had the experiences of this story! That is the wise thing to do!

Unfortunately, I have been watching bit by bit over months of time… I’m currently just trying to finish the whole thing, but I’m at the very end of part 1, so there’s still an hour left… for some reason, this event isn’t holding my attention span well at all…

However, that doesn’t stop me from deeply valuing one of the protags of the event!!! Yuna!!!

This precious child who only wants the best for everyone… who is so merciful at heart… who doesn’t want war, who begrudgingly resorts to it only because her hand has been forced all the way…

The poor child who blames herself for all this, simply because she did what anyone else might think to do, and WARN EVERY MAGICAL GIRL ABOUT THE HORRIBLE TRUTH OF MAGICAL GIRLS WHEN SHE FINDS IT OUT!!!

I wish to give her all the hugs in the world… and seeing her tears as the battle’s death count is stacking up… my heart breaks for her, I almost started crying as well…

I really hope Exedra adds arc 2 soon… I would love to have Yuna in my character roster…

Maybe seeing more of her can be my motivation to power through this story??? I really have so little interest…

With that out of the way…

Disclaimer!!! I knowwww Sayaka and Mabayu have no chance of a lasting strong connection EVER!!! This pairing is one-sided on Mabayu’s side, in my vision!!!

(TLDR; I really like this pairing and so here’s the evidence and analysis as to why. Maybe at least one person will see the vision, but either way, I had fun writing this!)

So, I know that Mabayu’s most popular ship is MabaHomu, for reasons that are obvious to any Scene 0 viewer… and that for reasons that become obvious later (in later films than the ones I already put a warning for), her second most popular ship is >!MabaMami!< …

Buuuut… has anyone else considered… Sayabayu?

Personally, I adore this pairing, and I have ever since I watched the films that I put a warning for. It’s very unfortunate that Sayaka is doomed to either barely know Mabayu or hate her, but that doesn’t stop my love for the pairing, because I ship it on Mabayu’s end, because by Film 7, Sayaka’s happiness has become Mabayu’s extra side quest!

Of course, everything in Film 5, when the connection begins because Mabayu has been assigned the task of befriending Sayaka, can be waved off as “Homura’s plans” and then later “Mabayu’s vision”, so there’s not a lot to discuss there, except for the extra context that this is when Mabayu commits to befriending Sayaka. Film 6 is where the hints I collect begins!

Yes, I decided to go the extra mile of collecting screenshots worth of evidence. Ik one doesn’t need to prove themselves with ships, all that’s required is for the ship to spark joy, but I wanted to mostly clarify with myself that I wasn’t making the biggest reach of all time. So here’s my evidence of Mabayu’s Sayakaffection, screenshot by screenshot!

Screenshot 1 is at the end of Film 6, where Mabayu and Homura are watching Sayaka and Madoka try and fail to defeat Walpurgis. They both decide it’s too painful to watch, so it’s time to rewind! Homura says, “Goodbye, Madoka”, and Mabayu says her line here directly afterwards. Homura’s farewell to Madoka and Mabayu’s farewell to Sayaka right next to each other… this could be a big reach, so moving on!

Screenshots 2 to 7 are Mabayu, waking up into Film 7, making the decision on her own that she will stop Sayaka from making a contract. Homura doesn’t even put this in the plans at first, and is even surprised by the initiative, so this brings the feeling that the determination to save Sayaka isn’t even about Homura’s wish anymore by this point. It is Mabayu’s feelings alone driving her desire to prevent Sayaka’s suffering that is inevitable once she makes a contract. And she’s ready to accept all consequences if the end result will be Sayaka happily living normally.

Screenshot 8 is just more evidence of Mabayu’s determination to prevent Sayaka’s contract. Even though Sayaka would be more content as a magical girl in this timeline than in others, Mabayu is still determined to have her live normally, after seeing the results of the previous two. Just like how Homura will fight against Madoka’s contract no matter what… no, not just like that. Not even close, honestly. But somehow, Mabayu’s feelings keep bringing me back to Homura’s feelings…

Screenshots 9 and 10 are Mabayu’s desperate attempts to talk Sayaka out of the contract, and her genuine pain from their connection being completely shut down. She truly wants what’s best for her, and to be close with her…

Screenshot 11 is her apology to Sayaka on the film’s final day, and more evidence of her neverending desire to help her.

I don’t believe I need to explain why the 12th screenshot fuels my heart for this ship. For Mabayu to say a line like that, how could I not adore Sayabayu more than I had a second prior?

Screenshot 13 is at the beginning of Film 8, and Mabayu has already concluded that befriending Sayaka is impossible… but she will still act for her happiness. Here, she’s thinking of the distance that grows with each timeline, and how strong Homura must be for continuing to act for the happiness of the growing-distant Madoka… and she thinks of this while watching Sayaka work in the cake shop. I feel like the narrative is trying to get us to draw a connection here. This could be the biggest stretch in the world, but I’ve seen arguments for other franchises, of similar scene circumstances where comparisons seem to be implicitly drawn… is this maybe one such scene? That’s how I perceived it on the first watch, and on the rewatch…

Screenshot 14. Mabayu wanting to stop Sayaka from being tricked. Which pair have we seen a line like this for before. Sayabayu and MadoHomu are miles away from each other, absolutely, but in this specific line, the comparison my mind is making feels slightly more reasonable…?

Screenshot 15 is at the start of Film 9. Film 8 ended with Kyubey’s prediction of the Madowitch ending the world in 10 days. Mabayu’s first thought about this is that Sayaka is still doomed. Interesting!

Screenshot 16 is just Mabayu continuing her Sayaka side quest even in Film 9. Just to continue my point that Mabayu has just adopted the task of Sayaka’s well-being permanently, outside of Homura’s plan which adopts the task of— yeah, maybe I should stop drawing that comparison 😅

The final two screenshots are bonus portraits in Exedra. I unfortunately haven’t found the contexts yet, but we see the same situation reinforced, of Sayaka experiencing joy and Mabayu being super happy for her even from a distance. These portraits are so adorable to me.

… Yeah, I just wanted an excuse to yap my heart out about Sayabayu… I love this pairing so much… it is so impossible, so bittersweet… maybe in another life, their feelings can match…

Silly post time!! This doesn’t seem to break any rules, soooo…

I still had to complete those boss battle bingo squares, so I decided, why not add a narrative to the boss battles?

The chosen narrative being, Homura showing Nagisa how to magical girl!

Because of Nagisa’s presence in (Rebellion spoiler) >!Homura’s labyrinth!< , I like to headcanon that (tv show spoilers ig bc I don’t know if this counts as common knowledge yet and I don’t wish to be struck down so paranoia it is) >!there was even a small handful of timelines where!< the two had a sisterly bond,

So I took that headcanon further and put Homura in the spot of a mentor to Nagisa!

In battle 1, Homura is showing Nagisa how it’s done, with her coolness and all,

And Homura also finishes off battle 2, but Nagisa still cheers at the end because she feels like she’s already improved! (She hasn’t, but don’t tell her that)

Homura believes Nagisa still has a long way to go, but that’s fine, surely. Just more experience is needed!

I wonder, would it be enjoyable to anyone if I posted these silly battle narratives every once in a while, or no?

And what better first (and last if I don’t have anything else to say) post here than the ever-so NEVER controversial post form… a tier list! (Sarcasmmmm)

Except I may actually save myself from controversy here, since my consumption and adopting of discussions and analyses probably allows my opinions to at least somewhat match what’s usual? Idk, it doesn’t matter, I have my opinions and I’m posting them just for fun. But at least I PROBABLY won’t be deep-fried /silly

I spoilered this just because of the explicit references to Hyun-woo’s fate, that was probably necessary, right? Or at least a kind thing to do, maybe?

Anyway, for some bullet points!

1. I MIGHT be a Sua fan, I’m not sure though, you couldn’t really tell from all lists combined /j

2. I have no recollection of my specific opinion of Luka, so he stays the lowest because even though I enjoy all of the main 6… I’m not actually sure how I would rate him. Maybe he really IS the lowest, for all I know.

3. If Candy Scar were on the song list, it would go in the top tier. Zombie Stage and the Sua depth exploration, my belovedssss! Plus, more Mizi!! Her design is so adorable but her lore is so heart-crushing…

4. I really don’t actively listen to audios outside of what is required of us. Not because I’m disinterested in the series, but because it’s never on my radar to do so. On that note…

Some spontaneous Nagisaffection/Nagisappreciation/yeah!!!

Using Christina Perri’s cover of this song, I put together some clips (and added the Rebellion spoiler flair because, well, it was probably unnecessary, but the clips ARE mostly from Rebellion, including one from during the Homuverse, so… and also, I didn’t know how to flair this), to express my care for her!! Funnily enough, I’ve made like 4 or more Homura videos before I finally made one for Nagisa, even though my daughter is my fave 😭

She’s so silly and adorable, and I love the depth that Magia Record adds to her, and she’s just always and forever sosososoooooo veryyyyyy awesomeeeee!!!!

I had a tiring day, but I got energy just by making this video of her!!! My daughter is so lovely!!! I felt a strong need to express this in a post!!! (And also I enjoy posting things but shhhh)

I believe we should all donate all of our cheese to her, she deserves the joy that would come from this collective generosity :3

Hellooo!

I felt like making a post today, so today’s post is a silly thing that happened yesterday! Because sometimes it’s nice to post lighthearted stories, no matter how insignificant :3

I was grinding for gems to eventually use on Valentine’s Day Nagisa in the event that she ever comes to the game. I have been doing this for a few days now.

The problem is, every time I do this, I keep Summer Homura in my memory, and then I spend every 3,000 gems on her, because I would really like to have the Summer Homura to my Summer Madoka, especially since she’s my second favorite character. I simply need to learn to really stop myself from using the Gacha like this, that’s all!

In any case, I once again spent the 3,000 gems I obtained on Homura, and I was 71 pulls in at the time, I believe. And then I got really hyped by the golden orb, of course!

Nope, it was Nagisa! I’ve also been wishing to actually see her animation during a gacha pull of mine someday, since I had to get her from the shop and missed out on getting the animation myself, so this was a different blessing entirely!

Maybe the game is trying to please me this way so I stop pulling and start saving??? /j

I think the ascension is doing her favors, because her healing seems even the slightest bit extra strong now! I really love how she heals even when she attacks, for all attack options. Or maybe most healers do that and I’m glazing my daughter a lot more than the meta implies I should, but whatever!

So yeah, that’s today’s silly story. And I also added a silly image I made using the photo feature. I’ve been making a lot of them lately… I wonder if a random post compiling a bunch of the photos would be acceptable.. and what the flair would be…
