GPCmode Birkin after 2 wears 😢
I carried my Birkin ($850+$50 shipping) from Steven (GPCMode) exactly twice, and the hardware already looks like this.
It wasn’t thrown around, rubbed against rough surfaces, or used heavily. Yet after just two wears, the gold hardware already looks like this. It is covered in scratches, and in some areas the finish already looks dull. For a bag that has barely been used, this feels excessive to me.
Steven’s solution is to sell me replacement hardware (another $70), which I then have to install myself. But honestly, I’m struggling to see the point if the new hardware is going to look exactly the same after another wear or two.
At this price point, I wasn’t expecting authentic Hermès quality, but I also wasn’t expecting the hardware to look this worn almost immediately.
Am I overreacting, or would you be disappointed too? 😢
