Context:
My friend and I joined a novice tournament, beginners and advanced beginners ang participants. What the organizers did was, they paired beginners with advanced beginners for fairness. This person (screenshot) is a beginner like you could tell na newbie siya because wala pang form and fundamentals. Just there for experience I guess, nothing wrong with that. But since it’s a tournament, of course everyone was competitive.

Mid rally, the ball was rolled by my friend’s partner towards this person (unintentional of course), nagbounce sa paddle niya upwards and tinamaan yung eyeglasses niya and nabasag. It was part of the game, she was not targeted. And my friend received this message from her on Reclub a day after even though he’s not the one who “hit” her, it was his partner.

Hindi ba dapat play at your own risk, kung tinamaan ka ng bola it’s part of the game and nothing against the opponent. Unless of course if intentional. So if ikaw ‘to, what would you do?

VP of a State University in Zambales openly expresses support for Pax Silica

This VP for Finance of a state university in Zambales has openly expressed support for Pax Silica and has repeatedly posted what many students have criticized as AI-generated “slop.” When students began calling him out, he allegedly responded by deleting posts, blocking students who criticized him, and removing discussions about his support for Pax Silica.

Instead of simply ignoring the criticism, he appears to continue posting content that seems deliberately designed to provoke the same students who are raising legitimate concerns about the welfare and interests of our country.

What makes this more concerning is the allegation that he was also the one who ordered the posting of a tarpaulin containing portions of BBM’s speech about the West Philippine Sea during the university’s Commencement Exercises.

Many students found this inappropriate. State universities are public institutions and should, as a matter of principle, maintain political neutrality and avoid creating the impression that the institution is endorsing the personal political views of a particular official or political figure. If the allegation is true, that this tarpaulin was posted because of the personal initiative of an administrator who used his position to make it happen, then this raises serious questions about the misuse of institutional authority.

The issue is not whether this individual is allowed to have personal political opinions. Of course he is. The issue is whether he used his position within a state university, and potentially university resources or platforms, to promote personal political interests or viewpoints. University officials should not be using their positions to impose their personal agendas on the institutions they serve.
