After 6 years without a computer and no way to play, I finally was able to buy and have Phasmophobia run on my laptop. But, despite having seen some content here and there, I’m now realizing I know actually nothing on how to start playing this game by myself.
Could you help me out with tips on how to make the most of the beginning of the game, how to not be scared of investigating solo and such?
I know I could join a multiplayer room, but I'm just too scared to do so. Same goes for asking friends who have the game to play.

Except that’s not what they did in game. I got a Forest AI that gegenpressed me all match, passed with incredible speed and accuracy, skilled past most players and started running at my defenders as soon as I passed to them from a goal kick.
Guess this was just the one match that the AI WANTS you to lose, no matter what? They broke the 1-1 on added time, from a rebound that suspiciously fell right onto Chris Wood’s feet.
Edit: same thing happening against Brighton. I’m using my reserves to spare my starting XI against Arsenal, whom I play 3 days later. Same pressing, same quick dribbling and passing, including backheel passes
