In this day and age how can the home buying process be so stressful?!

We’re meant to be exchanging and completing tomorrow, but our buyer’s solicitor has suddenly gone completely off-grid and hasn’t confirmed or replied to my solicitor to say whether everything is looking okay.

We’ve got investors buying our property, and we’re moving into a vacant house, so it’s a very short chain. Everything started back in January and we’re STILL waiting to move!

Now I’m potentially going to lose money on the van we’ve booked to move all our stuff, the whole house is already packed up and our mortgage offer is due to expire in just a couple of weeks. I’ve also used annual leave to get the house packed in time as it was only last week they said about the date. Eurghhhhh. I honestly don’t know how much more stressful this can get! 😩

Does anyone know of any petitions I can sign to get this changed? I wouldn’t want anyone else to have to go through this level of stress, and I feel like I need to metaphorically stamp my feet.

Today I heard what I was convinced was The Ramsey show podcast theme tune, so I went wandering around the office trying to find the source and fangirling “Wait… who’s listening to Dave?! I listen to him everyday”

Considering it’s pretty rare to meet people in the UK who even know who he is, I was absolutely buzzing.

Turns out… I’m just an uncultured swine who didn’t realise the podcast theme is based on an actual song and someone was just listening to that. 🤦‍♂️

I know Evri doesn’t have the best reputation, but I wanted to check if anyone else has been having issues with deliveries to parcel shops lately?

My last 2 orders run into issues when trying to deliver and the tracking updates to say they’ll try the next working day and they don’t…they just return the item to sender.

I’m trying to figure out whether this is an issue with my local parcel shop specifically, or if it’s a wider problem?

P.S. Evri is my last choice, I normally select InPost wherever possible.
