I really wanna venture out of the hospital. I’m underpaid (8k per cutoff) and I’m not being valued at work (di sila nagbibigay ng kasama ko kahit marami nang pasiyente, laging OT, masusungit na residente). I’m currently under a 5-month probationary contract at a private hospital, and I’m planning to end it there. Di na ako magpaparegular. I already know that this is not something I wanna keep doing in the long run.

The problem is.. saan ako pupunta? Public health talaga ang gusto kong mapuntahan but, unfortunately, wala pang signs na maghahire sila soon. Plus, wala akong kapit. Uso ba ang company and clinic nurse sa area natin? Magkano usually salary for these jobs? May other jobs pa ba for nurses like me?

I’m thinking of just finishing my contract as a probationary nurse which is only 5 months. Parang di ko na kaya patagalin pa. I was thinking of sucking it up and go for 6 months but I still have to render for another month after that.

I just don’t like it na sakin nakasalalay lahat – patients, doctors, etc. Kung may tanong sila, dapat nasasagot ko. Kung may ipapagawa sila, dapat alam ko kung paano gawin. Ultimo PhilHealth tsaka insurance ng mga pasiyente, ako ang may problema. Sa floor namin (OB), kami mismo nagaadmit, procedures, bedside care up to discharge. Sa amin ang DR at may sarili kaming ER. That’s for 3 nurses to handle, already including the head nurse. 8k lang sahod per cutoff. Maybe, napunta lang ako sa maling area kasi sa iba, bedside care lang sila. I’m a USRN pero ayoko na rin magabroad kasi sobrang na-off talaga sa course na to. I regret taking it up. I look at my seniors and I feel like di ko kayang mareach yung level nila, and I don’t think I’m even willing to.

Gusto ko nalang mag public health, VA or even an entirely different career. Or baka pwede rin akong magpatransfer sa OPD ng same hospital. May tatanggap ba sakin kahit 5 mos lang experience ko? Hays.
