Is working 33 hours/week while attending UCLA realistic?
I’m considering UCLA as a humanities major, but financially I’d have to work about 33 hours a week, roughly 8–3 most weekdays (ending around 1 on Fridays).
My other option is a cheaper state school where I could live with my parents and barely have to work. I really want UCLA because I want the experience of living in LA, meeting people, joining clubs, going out, and actually enjoying college.
I know it’s technically possible to balance work and school, especially with a humanities major, but I’m worried that working this much would mean I’d be constantly exhausted/stressed and miss out on the social/college experience that makes me want to go to UCLA instead of my state school in the first place.
