Found so much “lake” glass yesterday! Lived in Chicago my whole life and had no idea this was a thing!! My favorite piece is the first pic

Hi everyone! First time fish owner. l've tried to do a lot of research but I feel like I'm not fully doing this right. Does his fin look messed up?

Previously he tore it on plastic plants I took out and it healed. The only plastic plants left are soft ones except for the plastic stems. Could this be it? The top of his back fin is also bent over a little. Is this normal? For context he's been in this tank for about 2 weeks and it is a 10 gallon tank! I have hornwort, java fern, anubias, crypt wendtii, elodea, and moss in the tank too.

Just tested the water levels and they all look fine too. The pH is about 7.5. The nitrate levels are about 10-20. The nitrite levels are about 0-0.1. The carbonate hardness is about 80. The water hardness is at 180 but I read online that bettas can adjust to the water hardness. The temperature is at about 79 degrees.

When he eats I see him spit out his food a lot. Is this normal too? I feed him API betta flakes.

I've provided a picture of my tank as well. Please give me any advice you have!! Also his name is Bibbles and he has some unintentional snail friends in there too ◡̈
