So, were the main structural causes of Roman decline overtaxation (to fund the military) and currency debasement (leading to inflation) from the time of the five good emperors onwards?

Obviously we can say that later on Rome became too reliant on mercenaries, or that it became more feudalistic because the inflation made it no longer worth participating in the monetary economy for local lords, or the Huns, or that it eventually became corrupt, but I feel that the long term internal structural causes were those I described, is that correct?

I’ve found the perfect actor to play Johan!

It’s me! I would be perfect for the role. Anyways Netflix feel free to contact me, I expect a salary of 1.000.000 per day at least, otherwise I won’t do it.

Why is the cartesian equation of a vector equation with (p q) -qx + py = c and not -px + qy = c?

It makes more sense that the x shift p would be what you multiply x by and the y shuft q what you multiply y by.

Based on his past, what do you think Johans kinks/fetishes are?

Apart from crosdressing of course

Is this type of position against the Slav 1. D4 d5 2. C4 c6 3. Nf3 nf6 4. Nc3 … 5. G3 any good? Does anyone have anny resources for learning it?

Note that we don’t go 4. G3 because then bf5 is strong, we want to gambit the pawn for compensation. I already play the Catalan so I’m happy with these types of positions, the obly difference being that the knight isn’t on c3.

D6 players, how do you respond to the Alapin sicilian after 1. E4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. C3?

I play nf6 without knowing any of the theory and don’t have a great winrate, I’m considering just memorizing all the theory with nf6.

‘Margot Langer had a love affair with the head of an underground bank’

Was that Johan? It was stated that there was only one large underground money laundering bank, which Johan was the leader of and which he created. Or was he paying someone to pretend to be the head of the bank to eventually kill her?

Tenma when Hitler has a bullet in his brain (he’s going to save him)

But genuinely lets say just before Hitler initatites the Holocaust, and gets wounded, wouldn’t he be onligated by his own code to save him. He saved Johan, who had ended many lives and would potentially end many more and was pure evil insofar a human being can be. Why wouldn’t he also save Hitler, the situation is more or less the same just on a different scale. When you put it like this his philosophy falls apart conpletely no. And before you say only Johan suffered abuse, Hitler also suffered intense abuse from his father which messed him up.

Could Johan technically orgasm? To feel any pleasure at all?

This might sound a bit strange but its related to his lack of excitement/happiness towards anything, because if he could orgasm, that means that he was at least temporarily excited about something, which would go against his entire character. I don’t think hes ever shown to feel pleasure at everything, an important theme is the ‘five spoons of sugar’ for basically all the characters, Roberto even enjoys certain things like causing chaos and murder (👍) and Grimmer eventually also feels something. But Johan doesn’t, he’s just running on subconscious impulses and desires. Also remember that Margot Langer had a love affair with the head of an underground money laundering organization, which was Johan (heavily implied). So my question is, is there a special lady or man who could bring Johan to finish his evil ambitions and help him explode into society as a positive influence?

Johan might not have felt any emotions but he must have struggled in the library

To keep in his laughter that is. Tenma was trying to shoot him, Nina was trying to stop Tenma from shooting, Nina was trying to shoot him, Tenma was trying to stop Nina from shooting, and when someone finally did shoot they missed him 5 times while he just stood there, and instead destroyed their surroundings which just collapsed onto them. Truly amazing

Conceptual frameworks and reality, which ones are correct, how can we step out of them to make objective judgements?

I was thinking lately. At chess I have learned to look at the board in a strategic way using a particular framework. The same can go for reality. Conceptually a chemist will view reality as made up out of atoms etc, a sociologist will have an entirely different way of looking at reality too, if they’re a constructivist they might for instance think of a lot of things around them and their ideas about them as socially construed, even everyday objects have many sociological layers. Both are usefull ways of looking at reality. So given this, when do we know if a framework is correct, and what combination of frameworks would be best to look at reality? Some frameworks will doubtlessly lead to wrong ways of looking at reality, so when can we tell if we are on the right track, or if we know what is the best combination of frameworks? And to do this aren’t we bringing our own frameworks to this judgement of which framework is correct? This might seem absurd but various cultures and people come to reality with preconceived ideas, even if we don’t recognize it. How can we step outside of our frameworks to judge which is best?
