『Moonraker』- The Moonstruck/ Tidal Stand (James Bond Reference)

『Moonraker』is a reference to to the James Bond film, and song by Shirley Bassey. This is another member of the villain group based on James Bond intro themes.

This stand is more gentle than the other ones, in order to match the beauty and mystery of the song. I’m not 100% on its ability, because of just how mysterious it is… maybe it has too many abilities on accident?

-Appearance-

『Moonraker』is designed after a ship called a Regina Maris, because “Moonraker” is a type of sail on a boat, I believe the very top sails? It uses its sails to concentrate and reflect light from the moon at different angles.

I wanted this stand to be weird and unique, with the user being a woman. However, use what fits best for you.

-Ability-

『Moonraker』has the ability to accentuate the properties of the moon. It is completely dependent on the moon being visible, and its power grows based on how full the phase of the moon is. “God rays” from the moon are used to activate several different effects.

For instance, it rises the tides of anything caught by its light beams - the ground, metal, stone, etc takes the effect of waves and can drown or inconvenience people.

If these light rays hit people, they become moonstruck (which is a real term). They are filled with romantic feelings, passion, or temporary insanity.

Based on the fullness of the moon, it can even temporarily blur the line between the physical and spirit world. When this is active,『Moonraker』transforms to look like a ghost ship.

This stand isn’t immediately dangerous, but prolonged exposed to it can cause a lot of issues.

-Inspiration-

I wanted a more chill villain on the team, who has a different agenda than her teammates. She wants to gather something (not sure yet), to help her revive someone from the afterlife — with her stand, 『Moonraker』, she might be able to pull this off.

This ability would be similar to『Grateful Dead』from Part 5, where it’s dangerous but really needs someone else to help it fight to get the best out of it. This user would fight with a partner for sure.

It’s also based on how the “Moonraker” from the film is a space station trying to change the world, this is a more literal ship and using lunar powers instead of science.

『Die Another Day』- The Sleeper Agent Stand (James Bond reference)

『Die Another Day』is a reference to the James Bond film, and song by Madonna. This is the stand of a hidden “member” of the James Bond inspired villain group. It is hidden… because this member could be anyone in the world. Not even they know that they are connected to this group. The group consists of 7 people (as in 007), but there are actually 8 stands.

So far, this is my favorite one I’ve made for this James Bond project. I’ve posted this one before, but revamped it a little.

-Appearance-

『Die Another Day』is a… it’s a stand, sure, but it’s very different. It only exists in dreams and the minds of its victims. It has a feminine silhouette, with damaged limbs that look like diamonds ripping through its flesh (similar to Zao in the film). It has incredibly large, humanoid eyes with multilayered blue irises. It is stark white, and looks very thin.

-Ability-

『Die Another Day』is a rogue stand that infiltrates people’s dreams, but only people with that are fated or have “gravity” to interact with the target the stand wants to kill. Any human being on Earth can be invaded by this stand in that way.

It is unclear how many people can be affected by this stand at one time, but it conditions them to despise the target it is after. They see nothing but nightmares and dreams about wanting this person dead. They have daydreams or passing thoughts about killing them.

Eventually, they will seek out the person to kill them, so that they are free from this personal hell. The stand will give them visions or hallucinations to provide information on how to find the target as well.

This process is slower from person to person, so you could have an attack at the beginning of the manga, kill the attacker, and then 20 chapters later another victim of
『Die Another Day』prepares a new attack or ambush.

-Inspiration-

I think this stand matches the song very well, and is extremely evil. I also used the plot of the movie, Dream Scenario (2023), as inspiration for how multiple people can see the same person in their dreams, but this is a lot less comedic!

It is a mixture of『Death 13』from Part 3, with『D4C』from Part 7. However, instead of jumping dimensions, it jumps between connected dreams.

-Extra-

I would introduce this stand early, and have it “lose”. The hero team would move on, and then be attacked again much later at a very random time… by a completely random person. This would repeat a few times throughout the story at the most twist-heavy moments.

I’d have a flashback scene of sorts that shows a mom leaving her family behind, boarding a flight, and flying to wherever the hero team is. Because of『Die Another Day』, she was slowly broken down to only want to pursue and kill the hero character.

『Licence to Kill』- The “More Than Enough to Kill Anything that Moves” Stand (James Bond Reference)

『Licence to Kill』is a reference to the James Bond film, and song by Gladys Knight. This is another member of a villainous group consisting of James Bond inspired stands.

Licence to Kill” is the UK spelling, and even though it hurts me to see it, I want to honor it. In a way, it accentuates just how evil this stand is! (JUST KIDDING BRITISH FRIENDS, we love you!!)

-Appearance-

『Licence to Kill』is a stand resembling a gun called a Colt Single Action Army (SAA). This is a direct reference to Revolver Ocelot in MGS1, with this being "the greatest handgun ever made. Six bullets... more than enough to kill anything that moves."

It has silver and ruby accents with its design. It doesn’t use physical bullets, but has to be reloaded/charged after 6 shots.

-Ability-

『Licence to Kill』shoots bullets through anything physical without resistance, only being able to harm its target. Although the user is a trained gunman, it has another quirk that is far more dangerous.

Targets can only survive 6 interactions with this stand. This includes minor bullet grazes as well, and even deflecting the bullets by using your stand. As long as contact is made, it counts towards your demise.

There is a meter over its targets’ hearts that resembles the cylinder of a revolver that counts down from 6 to 0.

The scariest thing about this stand is that this countdown lasts forever. This stand could deactivate, and return after several years, but the countdown on the target remains exactly as it was before.

-Inspiration-

Revolver Ocelot from MGS. He’s just awesome, not sure what else to say. It’s also a reference not only to his quote, but also the boss fight in MGS1, because Snake DOES die if hit 6 times.

I like the idea of a stand user returning, and an old victim that survived it is like “no… no way… he’s back?!”, and he has 2/6 of his life meter remaining.

『Goldfinger』- The Corruption Stand (James Bond reference)

『Goldfinger』is based on the theme song of the James Bond movie, sang by Shirley Bassey. It is a stand belonging to a member of a group of villains based on James Bond movie intros.

This one took a lot of effort to not make too generic, because the song doesn’t really give too many details or interpretations. I’m still not 100% on it… but this is a classic film, so I have to include it somehow!

-Appearance-

『Goldfinger』is designed after a slow loris, which is the only venomous primate in the world (as far as we know). It’s complicated in nature, but for this stand, the venom is from its saliva which it uses to coat its fingers to attack.

It is a ghastly, pale white primate, but its saliva is a pure golden color. This does not turn the item into gold; it’s just “paint”.

-Ability-

『Goldfinger』coats objects with its venomous secretions. Whoever lays eyes on these items is filled with a subconscious want to collect them or keep them hidden from others. However, the longer someone is in possession/near any of these items, the more the person degrades or loses their life force.

The want to keep these items is purely involuntary, for the most part. For example, if you are trying to throw away a golden ball, you might find yourself unable to do it. Your working brain wants to be free, but your subconscious can’t let go. You think you’ve thrown the golden ball in the river, but end up pulling it out of your backpack when you get home.

It can even cause people to disassociate events. If you’re leaving behind a golden boulder to catch up to your friends, you may disassociate and find yourself right back to the golden boulder.

If someone takes the item from you, you may disassociate and kill them to get it back. The person you are attacking sees no emotion in your eyes as you do it…

-Inspiration-

There are tons of stories of gold corrupting people, with the most famous example being The Lord of the Rings. However, I want it to be more like an unaware addiction, rather than how corruption is shown in the books/films.

I picked the slow loris because it is such an odd form for a stand, but it works with the idea of toxicity and how its fingers are potentially dangerous — which matches the song perfectly. It’s also similar to one of my favorite newer Pokémon, Grafaiai.

In the move, Goldfinger, the main villain plans to irradiate the gold stored at the U.S. Bullion Depository at Fort Knox, so that his personal supply will be exponentially more valuable.

-Extra-

If I had to introduce how this stand works, it would be a very at a very upsetting. A guy is trying to find out who killed his friend, and due to his disassociation he has no idea that he did it himself.

Another character would know what happened, and try to confront him or show him proof… I think it could be a very emotionally screwed up thing.

『Diamonds Are Forever』- The Diamondizing Stand (James Bond Villain Inspired Group)

『Diamonds Are Forever**』**is a reference to the James Bond film, and the song by Shirley Bassey. The user of this ability is another member of a villainous group based on James Bond intro themes.

She is a rock human who is able to create diamonds. Due to her being a silicon-based life form, she cannot diamondize herself. Only objects and people with carbon are affected by her ability.

I know “diamondize” isn’t a real word, but just calling it that to keep this simple.

-Appearance-

『Diamonds Are Forever』is a feminine, crystalline stand that is primary clear with hints of baby blue accents (to make the geometry stand out on it). Its texturing features multiple different diamond cuts and its joints are silver/platinum, to resemble being attacked to a ring or necklace.

-Ability-

『Diamonds Are Forever』causes all carbon that collides into other things to diamondize. Instead of the need for a laboratory with huge pressure testing/hydraulic presses used to make diamonds, this stand can cause this with simple collisions.

The user simply touches something to initiate her ability, which causes all sources of carbon that come in contact with it to immediately diamondize on contact. So, if the target tries to open a car door, their hand colliding with the handle will cause it to be shredded apart by the sudden emergence of diamonds fusing to his hand.

The blood falling from the damaged hand also counts as colliding, so whatever that touches will be shredded as well. Since these are actual diamonds, this would be very tough to break away from.

The user could even activate her power on an unknowing person, and watch them hug/kiss someone else… and then it would all be over. Keep in mind, that these ARE diamonds, so she can sell these for a profit.

-Inspiration-

The way this song sounds to me… like this is a woman who is cold and proud of her ability/wealth. But there’s something else to it — like she’s an observer or testing this ability out on people. It’s fascination with the destruction of humans, and only trusting in one thing.

I thought a rock human would be perfect, because that fascination and apathy would work. We are carbon, they are silicone. Using everything we are as a weakness is very ruthless, at least in my opinion.

It’s also a twist on “blood diamonds” and the unethical way diamonds are mined/found. You could even say this is a very selfish/opposing version of 『Crazy Diamond』.

『Thunderball』- The Katamari Damacy Stand (James Bond Inspired Villainous Group)

『Thunderball』is a reference to the James Bond movie, and the song by Tom Jones. It’s used by an enemy spin user, and its ability is based on the darker side of Katamari Damacy that the games don’t really bring up.

-Appearance-

『Thunderball』is a small creature that rolls the steel balls of its user, similar to how『Sex Pistols』maneuvers bullets around for Mista in Part 5. It resembles the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Mascots (I just think they’re neat), and moves the steel ball around as if playing soccer.

-Ability-

『Thunderball』kicks the steel ball around, collecting everything it runs into and grows in size, snowballing to become larger and larger until it eventually reaches critical mass and explodes.

Its weakness is that it’s very vulnerable in its beginning stage or after it causes the explosion and resets. The stand itself is also very small.

-Inspiration-

Katamari Damacy 100%. In that game you roll up animals and people, then send them into space to explode into a new planet/star thing. That’s… kind of messed up, but no one seems to care about that in the games??

If you listen to the lyrics of “Thunderball” it’s all there. To me, it’s crazy how much it matches.

『GoldenEye』- The Omni-Vision Stand. I wanted to make a villainous group that are all based on James Bond themes, or similar songs.

『GoldenEye』is a reference to the James Bond movie, and song by Tina Turner. I am working on a villainous group where all their stands are based on James Bond themes (or something similar). Thunderball, Diamonds are Forever, Skyfall, even Snake Eater would technically count.

This one is a lot more literal of an ability, but it’s still dangerous.

-Appearance-

『GoldenEye』is an integrated stand ability, taking the form of a golden eye layer the user has — sort of like the Tapetum lucidum, which allows animals to have superior night vision. When it’s in use, it glows very brightly and eerily with a sniper scope/crosshair design as his pupils and iris.

-Ability-

『GoldenEye』is the most precise stand of any of them. It can see in multiple ways, be it x-ray vision, thermal vision, night vision, etc. It can gauge distances to the billionth decimal point. It can even see behind itself in 360 degrees. It can see into space like a telescope, or see anything microscopic. If used to count how many jelly beans are in a jar, it will know the answer immediately.

It even has the ability to see the vision of everything else around it, like vision-cones in a video game, allowing the user to take advantage of any blind spots and attack with complete precision.

It dramatically expands the users cognitive and reflexive abilities, too. However, it takes mental toll to use and can cause headaches/migraines.

-Inspiration-

Eye abilities are usually really cool, and I wanted a character who was vicious, but also gentlemanly. This user would be similar to King Bradley from Fullmetal Alchemist. He still has one of the coolest fight scenes and lines from that anime! "Do they really expect me to make a complete mockery of myself by entering through the back door of my own palace?"

The idea of seeing 360 degrees fully around is from the Byakugan, which is from Naruto. Obviously, that anime has a ton of eye-based abilities to use as inspiration.

Its ability to be outrageously precise is also a reference to Bullseye from Daredevil, but this time on steroids. There is also a weapon in Goldeneye 007 for Nintendo 64 called the Golden Gun, which kills anything in one hit.

『Night Shift』- The Censorship Stand

『Night Shift』is a reference to the song by Lucy Dacus. I’ve never known about this lady or her music, and wow… this is a very strong piece of music.

-Appearance-

『Night Shift』has a feminine frame, and is designed like a gradient going from pure white on its face to dark brown/grey behind it. It has designs across its body that resemble sepia tone, movie film tape warping and breaking.

-Ability-

『Night Shift』has the ability to censor out anything it breaks or kills. This is done by either covering it up with illusions of something else, or using the classic witness protection blur/censorship mosaic over everything. This also includes any evidence from the victim, like blood splatter and personal ID.

The censorship of the dead person is so strong, that people cannot say the name of who they believe died without it being bleeped out, or being unable to speak it (like silence just for that one word).

All crimes the user intends to hide are censored. The user could have completely burned down a house and killed everyone inside, but on the outside it is either an indiscernible bunch of blurs or… nothing peculiar at all.

This stand is incredibly dangerous for random crimes, when you have no idea who killed who or what was even going on.

-Inspiration-

I know this game series isn’t for everyone, but I got the idea from Kingdom Hearts 2. There is one terrifying thing at the beginning of the game that I felt was really underutilized and could be used in a horror scenario.

To briefly summarize, a creature called a Nobody takes a photo/camera away from one of the characters. He tries to tell everyone that the photos are gone, but it comes out like “OUR ____ ARE GONE!!” He can’t say photos, because the very word was stolen at the same time.

I imagined a scenario where a person was the victim of this attack. People remember this individual, but no one can say the name or see them again. It’s as if the whole world forgot they were there.

For the censoring with illusions that hide the body/destruction, I thought of how YouTubers will put their version of funny censors on top of footage, so they won’t get demonetized.

『New Edition』- The Rain Teleportation Stand

『New Edition』is based on the music group of the same name, and its ability is based on the song “Can You Stand the Rain”. I wish I could draw, because I think I have a really cool idea for how it’d look and it’s iconic pose.

-Appearance-

It’s design is based on Orville Peck mixed with MC Hammer. If you modify their clothing a bit, you could have a really weird but unique design for a stand!

It has the sharp silhouette of MC Hammer’s suit mixed with the tassels of Orville’s mask (to sort of resemble rain and obscuring the face with its ability), and a broad hat that sort of looks like a hat/rain dish combination.

Its main pose would be MC Hammer’s pose on his Greatest Hits album.

-Ability-

『New Edition』has the ability to teleport itself and anything else through natural rain - anywhere on Earth.

When fighting it, rain shows the location of another place on Earth. You could be fighting this stand in Japan, and see Germany in the rain as it’s falling.

It “erodes” pieces of any object or person by teleporting droplet chunks to any other place that is currently experiencing rain.

It only works if the water is absorbed, so wearing raincoats and using umbrellas will save you from being teleported in chunks.

The user can also use this ability to gather its allies from around the world to one place, or use it to completely evade an attacker.

This would cause a lot of fear around the weather, because this stand can appear from anywhere on the globe. All it needs is rain.

-Inspiration-

New Edition is such a cool group name, and I wanted to do something with it. I personally love this song a lot, too!

MC Hammer and Orville Peck seem unrelated…but I don’t know. Something about their looks combined works for what I want this stand to look like.

『On Our Own』- The Ghost Cluster Stand

『On Our Own』is a reference to the song from Ghostbusters II by Bobby Brown. This one is weird and hard to describe for me…

-Appearance-

『On Our Own』takes the form of many multicolored ghosts, similar to the ghosts from Pac-Man. This stand has a more cartoonish appearance, and all the ghosts have different faces that match their temperament.

The ghosts speak to themselves and the user like『Sex Pistols』from Part 5. They must also be fed and cared for, and can have arguments amongst themselves. They speak with the user/themselves telepathically when far away from each other.

They move in a grid-like/robotic pattern towards their target, to resemble a Pac-Man level. It can freely manipulate its size to match the task it’s given.

I’m not sure how many I’d say are in a group to make this a colony stand, but maybe 6-12 of them?

-Ability-

『On Our Own』can capture, destroy, or possess something that is a threat, but they are intangible to everything else.

This stand has to figure out what the threat is first, in order to properly attack. They are ethereal and invincible until reaching their target, but they can ONLY attack the main threat.

For instance, if the user tasks them with finding out the location of a hidden sniper. The ghosts need to put clues together to investigate and find him, first. During that time, the ghosts are invincible, but also cannot attack anything else.

It’s like a cartoonish, phantom SEAL Team 6 — they only exist in that moment to neutralize their target. I didn’t intend this pun at first, but it’s GHOST RECON!!

This stand can also be used for support purposes, like sending it out to investigate someone’s illness. It will shrink down to neutralize only the illness inside that person’s body at the source.

Since it can safely move through anything, and only destroys the main threat, it can be used to handle situations with surgical precision.

-Inspiration-

The song speaks for itself for a lot of the ability’s inspiration. I flipped Ghostbusters into “Buster Ghosts”, and rolled with it. Ghostbuster…Ghost CLUSTER??

The ghosts from Pac-Man are world famous, and I think their colors would be very pleasant for a ghost stand also! The feeling of being cornered by this stand is similar to how it feels to be helpless in Pac-Man, too.

I wanted to mix in the banter of the Ghostbuster actors, and also pay homage to Pac-Man at the same time. Each ghost has their own personality, but they still work together to take control!

『Stress』- Contest Entry for “Swarm” Stands

『Stress』is based on the electro house song by Justice.

-Appearance-

『Stress』is a humanoid stand that resembles a small child with a butterfly net, and dressed for hunting bugs. It wears a bucket hat over its face to hide its eyes.

When it hits an opponent with its butterfly net, its ability activates.

-Ability-

『Stress』has the ability to cause its target to create bugs, whenever they feel tension and touch any object. It doesn’t necessary have to be a fear of bugs that triggers this.

When the victim of『Stress』touches anything, the object will morph into a bug of some kind. The higher the level of tension the victim feels, the more dangerous the created bug will be.

If the victim was running away on their bike, and felt tense to get away, the handlebars of the bicycle would turn into centipede-like monsters to try to attack. It could even be the entire bike falling into different parts/bugs to attack!

If the victim is holding a knife in anticipation of an attacker, the knife could fall apart into a swarm of silverfish that would try eating his hands.

If they are trying to hide behind a door, the paint coating of it could form into termites that would eat the door rapidly to make him vulnerable to being seen.

-Inspiration-

To me, the song “Stress” feels like a colony of creatures gathering to cause a problem of some kind. I personally hate bugs, so I 100% would fail to beat this stand!

From what I’ve read online, Justice made the music video for this song a parody on how TV news over-sensationalizes their stories — they want to instill fear in people for more views.

-Extra-

If I had to pick a cool way to introduce this stand, it would be in a log cabin, before revealing the ability of the user to the reader. There is a man hiding away in the middle of nowhere to escape this stand user.

All of a sudden there is creaking from all around him, and he realizes that all the logs of the log cabin have become gigantic stick bugs that begin to gruesomely attack, just before the manga flips to another page.

-Next Contest Idea-

For the next contest… it may be too vague, but extremely weird powers? Like a very, very situational ability for someone to have that comes in handy when you least expect it.

If that doesn’t work for the contest entry, maybe a stand that is harmful to have. Its ability does more harm than good for the user.

『Optimystique』- Based on Yanni’s Music

DISCLAIMER: I am going to stop spamming stand ideas, and listen to what others have to say. I was doing this as a personal challenge, and even I admit I have been annoying, and need to take a backseat!

『Optimystique』is a reference to Yanni’s first album. Out of all the music I have listened to for this challenge, Yanni’s discography is absolutely amazing. It’s emotionally powerful orchestration! The only issue is that it’s hard to get a stand name from his music, as it’s titled very simplistically.

-Ability-

『Optimystique』has the ability to downgrade things getting closer to it, but upgrade things leaving its range.

The user could toss a paper airplane, and as it gains distance, it advances into a jet going at Mach speed.

Someone could shoot a bullet at this stand. As it gets closer, it turns into a pebble - as if it was fired by a slingshot.

It can apply a bandaid on someone, and as they leave, they make a full recovery.

-Appearance-

『Optimystique**』**is black and white, with blue accents. It resembles a man made of blueprint/newspaper material, with an art deco vibe. It is very polygonal, to match the experimental vibe of the album.

I really would like the stand to have Yanni’s hair and mustache, but whatever looks best with this concept! Lol

-Inspiration-

Yanni has been my favorite personal discovery, when looking up stand ideas. Beautiful music; very easy to listen to. I legit cannot believe I’ve never listened to his work before!

If I had to pick a song that best represents this ability… maybe “Santorini”? This could be the name of the stand user possibly? It’s also the name of a famous Greek island.

I picked this ability as a pun, too. “Optimism” and “Mystique”— Because the distance from his stand is his “optimism”, and the way it downgrades/upgrades the things in his range is the “mystique”!

Yanni’s music is also very gentle, so this stand isn’t necessarily dangerous. I could see a really good person using it.

『Saeyu Saeme』- The Dark Desire Stand/Rock Creature

『Saeyu Saeme』is a reference to “Say You, Say Me” by Lionel Richie. It is either a stand ability of a location, or a creature of some kind that isn’t “evil” but misinterprets the desires of people who call on its help. To understand it better, I want to describe its appearance first.

-Appearance-

『Saeyu Saeme』is a creature of some kind that is stuck in a wall, like Han Solo being trapped in carbonite.

It listens and speaks out to people nearby, hoping to grant their wishes, so that it can be freed. The only time it can leave the wall is if it is in the process of granting someone’s wish, where it needs its body to do so.

In my mind, it is a giant coiled centipede/millipede, but it can change its appearance inside the wall it’s trapped in. In order to grant wishes, it needs food/other materials to power up first.

To a normal human, its voice is otherworldly and convincing, and usually able to trick them. Its goal is to have a wish so impossible that it never has to return to its wall, and it can roam the world forever.

-Ability-

『Saeyu Saeme**』**is has the ability to grant the wishes of people that call for its help. These wishes often backfire or have a literal or dark twist.

It requests offerings in the form of food/ other materials, so that it can craft its new body in order to accomplish their wish. So, if the person wants the most attractive girlfriend ever, this creature will need all that matter to make itself in that image.

This creature is immortal, and can only be defeated when it accomplishes what its current form was created to do. It can be tricked into believing it’s done its job, too.

-Inspiration-

I was inspired by this really weird indie game that I can’t stop thinking about — Growing my Grandpa!

There’s this creature in the basement of this little girl’s house that slowly takes the form of her grandpa, because she misses him. Something about how the story/scenery is some really creeps me out.

However, I can’t say that the creature itself is evil at all. It’s a creature completely made from that person’s desire. It only really wants what they want, but it’s still very unsettling.

『Born to Run』- Laser-Wall Motorcycle Stand

『Born to Run』is a reference to the song by Bruce Springsteen, and is lowkey what I believe the “John Rod” meme stand name is.

It is a mixture of『Born This Way』,『Highway Star』and the light cycle from the Tron series.

-Ability-

『Born to Run』only activates when it senses competition. If it believes a person is racing it, it spawns in behind them, but only on flat surfaces. It always allows the target a head start before calculating how fast it will move.

It travels slightly faster than what the user’s speed was at the time of activation. At a certain distance behind a person, it disappears before reactivating at the next “checkpoint”, where it will try to outdo their speed.

Its goal is to turn in front of the target, or slice them in half using a laser-wall. The exact same lethal method used in Tron.

All that matters is that the surface is flat. It sizes up the competition and then goes.『Born to Run』can activate on the ceiling, if someone is crawling along it, on a piece of paper if someone is writing an essay to slice off their fingers, and even on a straw you are sipping water out of of (I really, really struggled to find a weird example LOL).

It only spawns in if its target is not looking for it. To the victim, it’s like a rival driver that is always on their tail. It can go at any faster speed faster than its opponent, but cannot accelerate until it is triggered again.

The main weakness of this stand is that it only activates when it senses enough movement to qualify as a “race” or “challenge”.

-Appearance-

It is based on the light cycle from Tron, and has a chromed-out look with a bright silver rider covered in display panels with pixelated colors that change based on how fast the stand is moving.

It drops a curtain of light/laser-wall behind itself as a main method of attack.

-Inspiration-

Tron needs more love in general, and I love Daft Punk’s soundtrack for Tron Legacy.

If this had its own combat theme, it would EASILY have to be “Derezzed” by Daft Punk.

『Nightwish』- The Greatest Show on Earth

『Nightwish』is a reference to the band of the same name, and the ability is based on the 24-minute masterpiece that is “The Greatest Show on Earth”. It creates Endless Forms Most Beautiful, in its own way - based on the name of the album.

-Ability-

『Nightwish』has the ability to cultivate anything it comes in contact with, offering it nurturing and protection, while the area around it becomes desolate.

It can grow an entire forest near instantly, but all similar life nearby will be destroyed. It can bless someone with great intelligence, but all intelligence around them will be removed.

It can create warmth for someone, but everything else will be cold like the vacuum of space. It inspires and nurtures, yet destroys everything around it. It can create new organisms, but kill off all of the ones that are unfortunate enough to be nearby.

It is a representation of pure selfishness, but what the stand is capable of is nearly limitless. It’s is somewhat like equivalent exchange from Fullmetal Alchemist. This is a stand that could also be compared to Ultimate Kars from JJBA Part 2.

-Appearance-

I honestly don’t know I’d design it as. It has a very feminine, stern energy to it…. I would say to use Greek mythology or something similar, but I don’t know if that’s too cliché. In my mind, it’s simply white like a Greek statue (Venus de Milo) with hair covering itself like The Birth of Venus.

I want it have that simple color, but its texturing is very intricate. The idea is still very hazy in my mind, so I’m not sure what to go with.

-Inspiration-

Equivalent exchange sucks. It is such a huge moral quandary, and it’s terrifying to think of what you would do to protect yourself or your loved ones over everyone else. No one should have this power, and that’s exactly why I wanted an ability that tested a person’s willingness to use it.

The name of the album, is based on the final sentence of Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species:

"Endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved"

『In the End』or『Numb』— The Instant Death Stand (Spoiler Warning Due to Referencing JOJOLands)

『In the End』or『Numb』is a Linkin Park reference to both songs in one stand, but I couldn’t decide which sounded better for a name. For now, I am sticking with『In the End』.

The user is Meteora, a reference to Linkin Park’s 2nd album. He is the leader of a rival team of stand users, similar to La Squadra from Part 5.

There are several inspirations for this stand, which I will list below.

- Ability -

『In the End』has the ability to instantly kill anything if it hits their pressure points or breaking points. It uses needle-like projectiles with incredible precision and speed. The death is instant, but the destruction of the body or object is very slow.

The victims are slowly breaking apart into pieces, and are technically already dead. They are unable to be healed, due to this condition, and need to either extract the needles somehow without causing more damage, or kill the user.

This ability is similar to『Glory Days』from Part 9, because the user could technically kill everyone and destroy everything in a room, and no one would know it happened yet. The entire building could be collapsing so slowly that no one would notice it until it’s too late — it’s already destroyed, but it breaking apart is done very slowly.

Although the targets of this stand are pending their demise, that also means that effects on their bodies are slow as well. So if a victim of『In the End』chases after the user, and the user fires a gun at them, the bullet damage will be very slow, and won’t be able to properly stop them.

In that way, this stand is one of the most powerful ones, but also the weakest depending on the match up.

The user is also able to use the stand on themself, in order to purposefully slow the effects of dying or incoming damage, before removing the needles in them.

- Appearance -

『In the End』is based on a passiflora caerulea, or blue passionflower. It is an abstract version of the real-life flower that floats near the user. The inner part of the flower moves around and reacts to mimic an eyeball sometimes, while its eyelashes are the prickles/ needles it fires at its opponents.

Other times it is like a lanky, sharp torso sticking out of the base of the flower. It’s intended to be a little creepy.

It doesn’t necessarily have to have the color scheme of the real flower, but I like it!

- Inspiration -

This idea came from studying what the heck Glimmora, the Pokémon, is based on. It’s actually based on the blue passionflower, which I learned is more valuable than what you’d expect.

It is the national flower of Paraguay, and is used as a symbol for Christianity. Each section of its body/fruit it produces is said to represent a part of the Passion of Christ.

With that idea in mind, I thought of the story of Christ, and knowing your purpose to sacrifice yourself. In a way, your death would be predetermined - it’s your destiny to make that sacrifice.

With the idea of death, I researched the Touch of Death (Dim Mak). To summarize, it is the concept that you can kill someone using their pressure points and a certain technique, an old myth/legend in Chinese martial arts. This is either instant, or the body will die on its own in mere moments. Popular examples of this concept are the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique from Kill Bill, and the Hokuto Shinken from Fist of the North Star.

“You’re already dead!!”

The needles the stand uses are a reference to acupuncture and Christ’s stigmata in one weapon.

-Extra-

Edit: I personally like this stand, and found a theme that matches the personality of this kind of ability. It’s battle music would be “Unwavering Belief” from the video game, Lost Judgment.

『Magic Carpet Ride』- The Quantum Tunneling Stand

『Magic Carpet Ride』is both a reference to Steppenwolf and Mighty Dub Katz. Both work, but I’m leaning words the Mighty Dub Katz version, because the wackiness of this power matches for me.

-Ability-

『Magic Carpet Ride』has the ability to create translucent floating panels, which resemble the fabric of space-time. They would sort of have the same translucent effect as the air bubbles『Stray Cat』uses.

These fabric-like panels cause all matter they touch to phase through other objects. When the fabric is removed or the stand itself is withdrawn, the matter affected stays that way.

For example, this user could use『Magic Carpet Ride』on someone and they would phase through a chair or floor, then when the power is removed, the victim is stuck that way.

The user could also use this stand to wrap themselves in the fabric, and phase through anything they want.

The user can also use this fabric like a strainer to remove impurities from something else - using the panel to remove only dirt/ poison from something to make it clean.

-Appearance-

『Magic Carpet Ride』is based off of Arabian Nights/ Aladdin. It is a floating/meditating Arab sorcerer holding a magic lamp that dispenses more fabric panels for it to use. Its color scheme is white and gold, with silver accents. It has a very sharp design like Jafar, but is not necessarily “evil looking”, but more wise instead.

(With my lack of understanding for what might seem offensive, that can be changed to something that doesn’t feel uncomfortable for a part of the audience. To me, I think Aladdin, but that may be a bad stereotype for some people.)

-Inspiration-

I wanted to use an Aladdin/Arabian Nights theme for an ability, but I didn’t want it to be too obvious as to what it is. 『Magic Carpet Ride』is on the nose, but the power it has is strange enough.

I thought… hmm, what is an actual type of “Magic Carpet”, and how does one “Ride” it? Fabric of space-time! We are all riding on that right now, in fact!

Obviously, this stand only uses one aspect of our physics, otherwise that would be way too powerful, if it literally controlled the fabric of space-time.

『Mo Money Mo Problems』- “Architecture” Contest Entry

『Mo Money Mo Problems』is a reference to the rap song by Notorious B.I.G.

-Ability-

The user pays money for this stand to operate - he is essentially funding projects with his stand. It has the ability to create a miniature city using any man-made type of architecture, but they are more surreal (small hospitals, small police stations, small schools, etc).

These buildings and infrastructure have exaggerated properties of the normal ones. If you are near the miniature hospital, you will slowly heal up. If you are by the police station, would need to be on your best behavior or get cuffed/arrested.

This includes any building/project you can think of. He can fund an observatory, which will begin to search for his enemy. He can use it to fund a lighthouse, which will direct all projectiles to itself, as an exaggerated form of how a lighthouse guides people.

He can also fund military bases and missile command centers. However, certain things take longer to build, and are much more expensive.

If a building is removed by him, he collects his money back, and may accrue interest depending on how successful the building was in combat.

This stand can also actively collect money by having streets that have more crime/thievery.

-Appearance-

『Mo Money Mo Problems』takes the form of miniature stand-people, like LEGO or Playmobil characters. When the user lays down a coin, dollar bill, or their credit card, these spawn in from underneath the money and begin rapidly building things.

The buildings and infrastructure these stand-people make are similar to our real-life ones, but are way more surreal. These stand-people ignore the laws of gravity, and can build on any surface at any angle.

The user is able to speak with these stand-people, argue, and he addresses them like normal people at a construction site. In relation to the stand name, these stand-people are all named “Mo”, and seem to always know which Mo the user is speaking to.

The user is like a giant mayor of his own town, delegating and funding their projects!

-Inspiration-

The song has a very cool beat to it, and I like the lyrics “It's like the more money we come across, the more problems we see”. This stand legit makes more problems by using more money!

I’ve searched a lot of other songs for this concept, but none of them captured the feeling of superiority, affluence, and confidence I wanted for a stand ability like this one.

Next contest, I say… any animal user!

『Beautifully Human』or 『Golden』- The Power of Freedom

『Beautifully Human』or『Golden』are based on the album/song by Jill Scott. In my mind, I wanted this stand to be used by a rock human who wants to join the hero team. Due to the feminine energy of this song, I would imagine a woman would use this stand, but anyone can for a story you’d want to make.

-Ability-

This stand has the ability to free the user from ambushes, traps, binds, or restraints. The user is still vulnerable to attacks, but cannot be in a truly hopeless situation (kidnapping, locked in a jail cell, surrounded by explosive mines, etc.).

She can also carry someone and get them through a tough situation, like a burning building that’s about to collapse. This user cannot be drowned or buried by normal means either; she would warp the space around her to escape from it or move through it effortlessly.

The user also naturally cannot set off tripwires, mines, … glue traps… you get the point! This stand user has to be faced in fair combat on her own terms.

The ability may seem very strong, but there are several stand users that outclass her stand in combat ability. After her initial ability is known, a lot of people could work around it. She uses the element of surprise… by not being able to be surprised.

-Appearance-

This stand is golden (obviously), and I wanted to design it after a supermodel named Anok Yai. Its color-scheme is based on her outfit from the 2026 Met Gala. I can have those set as pictures on this post.

The stand doesn’t wear a dress, but I want it to have the same statuesque texturing as Anok’s make-up and hair. I don’t even keep up with fashion, but holy crap… this look is 10/10!

-Extra Nerd Stuff-

This also includes invulnerability to certain enemy attacks in the series, because she would be “trapped” or “restrained” by them:

Kakyoin’s 20m Radius Emerald Splash — The ability won’t trigger when the character touches the tendril-like things.

DIO would be able to stop the user with『The World』but the knives he uses in the stopped time would have 0 effect when time resumes, because that is a trap.

The user would not be able to be constrained by 『Enigma』, nor be forced into electrical current by『Red Hot Chili Pepper』.

『Killer Queen』touching the doorknob as a surprise attack will not work, because it is a trap. In fair combat, its explosive abilities would work.

『King Crimson』will still manipulate time and skip 10 seconds, but he would not be able to see the future for this user. That’s technically a premeditated trap that she has no control over.

Johnny’s 『Tusk Act 4』with its infinite spin would still damage this stand user, but she would not be eternally stuck to one place like Funny Valentine.

『Stone Free』cannot restrain this user with strings, but it can still punch her.

『Wonder of U』and its flow of calamity… this one is a touch call, because the user would know that the intent to pursue it causes issues… I’m going to say jury is out, but I don’t think this stand can negate the effects of『Wonder of U』.

『White Snake』would not be able to remove this stand and turn it into a disc.

『I’m In Between』or『Gimme Shelter』- The “Coast is Clear” Stand

『I’m In Between』is a reference the theme song of a Nickelodeon show called As Told by Ginger. I absolutely avoided this show and know nothing about it, but I always loved the theme song. It introduced me to Macy Gray

If I had to pick an actual, viable reference… probably『Gimme Shelter』by The Rolling Stones.

- Appearance -

This stand has the form of a stealth aircraft. I don’t know too much about planes, but maybe leaning towards the design of the Northrop B-2 Spirit.

- Ability -

This stand has the ability to shoot destructive gatling guns and drop bombs. It is incredibly fast and can maneuver quickly around obstacles.

Its most dangerous power is that it has an extremely short draw distance on itself. The air craft itself is moving and attacking normally, but people cannot perceive it until it is about maybe 0.5 - 1 meter away (I’m not too great at judging distances for balance). This includes the sound it makes, and all the destruction it causes.

It could drop a bomb over your head from a kilometer high, but you wouldn’t notice it until the last minute. It causes people to second guess if they are safe, or if they should move somewhere else. The street in front of you could be on fire, but you wouldn’t see, hear, or feel the flame until you were 0.5 - 1 meter away from it.

- Inspiration -

First, I randomly remembered “I’m In Between”, and I have absolutely no idea how. I thought about the lyrics… and was like what if the whole song is about being oblivious to something very dangerous. The grass may be greener on the other side, but you have to pass between to get there.

That made me think of passing between two different safe areas, unknowingly passing through a war zone. A shelter to a different shelter…

Then “Gimme Shelter” began to make a lot more sense, but in a weird way to me. It’s hard to describe it, but it feels like an inconvenient truth that we all want to forget is happening. I think the fear of this stand being close, being far, being ANYWHERE, matched with how it only shows up when it’s too late, sort of matches the paranoia of war for me.

That fear translates into people scrambling to find shelter from it, and I believe it is the inverse way of using the lyrics of “Gimme Shelter”.
