『Intergalactic』- Contest Entry, Zodiac

『Intergalactic』is a Beastie Boys reference, and my reimagining of 『Dragon’s Dream』from Part 6 and it’s Feng Shui. It has the ability to cast a diorama, or fully project the solar system and stars, where the user is the Sun (heliocentricity). The user is able to interact with the projections, causing astrological effects within her range.

This includes the user manipulating constellations, aligning the planets in certain ways, causing eclipses and different phases of the moon - anything within belief of these projections. She can align planets to provide either great fortune or disaster (planetary alignments/ grand crosses). Based on positioning, she can cause numerous effects, like buffing and debuffing quadrants around her with her knowledge of the Zodiac.

Basically, this user has their own magic system with multiple astrological concepts, but has to know how to set-up and position these projections for it to work effectively. I would have the stand’s effect be stunning, similar to the Shinra building hologram of the Ancients in FF7 Remake, or the cutscene with Seymour showing Zanarkand for the first time in FFX. It is a very immersive and almost spiritual experience to see this stand in person.

In my mind, I wanted the user to be female, and all the poses are inspired by constellations. When she activates powers with this stand, her character outline is drawn like a star map, so it’s very beautiful when being destroyed by this stand user.

If I had to choose for the next contest, I would have to say animal stand users. The user is an animal, but the stand has to compliment that animal somehow, or sort of make sense on why it has it.

『Beautiful is Boring』- Contest Entry, Tree Stand

DISCLAIMER: This is NOT a contest entry. I got my time/weeks mixed up, since I am a bit new to this Reddit (edit: so new that I didn’t know to call it a subreddit)… and I really need to check the timestamps for things I read *AHEM!* However, I had fun making this, and it introduced me to Bones UK, too!

『Beautiful is Boring』is a Bones UK reference. It is the stand used by a sacred tree, called a shinboku that is trying to prevent itself from dying. But, there is a twist later on with it.

『Beautiful is Boring』is corrupt, and trying to make the tree and its shrine beautiful again. The plot of land it’s on is hideous, and it’s trying to bring it back to how it used to look in its glory days.

The stands main ability is producing tree sap that changes anything that drinks it into its version of a kodama, or tree spirit. These “kodama” listen to the stand/tree and complete tasks for it.

The scent of the tree sap lures in animals, mainly bugs, and mutates them to be captivating and otherworldly. These new creatures are tasked with luring in followers/victims (usually children), so that the tree can feed on their life force. It is sort of like a symbiotic relationship.

The creatures/newly-made kodama have a very alluring nature to them, like following the most beautiful butterfly you’ve ever seen (sort of like you are in a trance). However, when the stand attacks, this beauty is stripped away, and the true look of the mutated creatures is shown.

If a human were to drink the sap from 『Beautiful is Boring』, it would be very toxic, but also show them hallucinations of what the tree used to look like in the past, and what it believes it is still doing. Instead of seeing that it steals the life force from its victims, the tree itself believes it is uniting everyone around it in prayer or something.

It is later revealed that『Beautiful is Boring』is a malicious stand inhabiting the tree, using it as its host. It is revealed that in the past, this tree kept evil spirits away, but may have lost to『Beautiful is Boring』, or sealed it away within itself to protect others. The stand is trying to collect enough life force to escape the tree it is bound to.

『Closer』- OC Stand, Nightmare Fuel

『Closer』is a Nine Inch Nails reference. It is an automatic/phenomena stand that pursues targets that reject or wrong the user… whether the user wants this or not.

Its ability is refracting genetic information, fusing things together, and warping DNA. It has a small field around itself that causes these effects, but its main way of killing is phasing violently into its target (getting closer, so to speak). This stand can phase through matter, like a ghost pursuing through walls, but all things it directly touches will rapidly fuse together.

Its ability is like the DNA scrambling effect from the movie, Annihilation. Side-effects of its ability create doppelgängers, and new lifeforms, but that’s not its main focus. It can’t manipulate DNA directly, it only has the ability to scramble/destroy it.

I really wish I could draw, in my mind, I want the stand to be absolutely disgusting. 『Closer』looks like it’s wearing a skin suit, and when it breathes, it shows that it has a skeleton underneath this suit with a really warped skull. The stand speaks for itself, but has a very, very specific voice - it’s the voice synthesizer effect from No More Heroes 1 when bosses are introduced! It’s super specific, but I think it’d add a lot to it.

The user knows they have this stand, and how it works, but is mostly terrified of it.『Closer』activates automatically when the user is wronged/rejected, and can’t be controlled after that. So, if this guy tries to hook-up with a girl, and she rejects him,『Closer』will activate and pursue her.

I wanted a situation where the stand user is actively warning everyone to run away from his own stand, and trying to stall it to save their lives.『Closer』has a bit of intelligence, and has to be reasoned with to be deactivated (hopefully it works).

So this guy could be fired at his job, and『Closer』will say “I will be back soon.” The user would know it seeks to kill his former boss, and that he won’t really be able to stop it. The love of his life could say they aren’t ready for a relationship yet, and THAT would be enough to trigger 『Closer』. To get really dark, it could be as simple as a kid being an asshole to the user.

『Intergalactic』- OC Stand

Now, this one I actually don’t have enough experience or knowledge to actually make it work. If you’ve seen my posts or whatever, you’ll notice a pattern… I usually make space travel themed stands. However, this is more Astrology based, which I really don’t know enough about. Please leave a comment, if you have any ideas! (Please ignore the third picture of this post LOL)

I know a few of these… like the planets fully aligning is super cool, very lucky… uh, there’s these phenomena called Grand Crosses that cause disaster?! Yeah, I actually don’t know enough to actually use this stand lol, so you’d win against me for sure.

Basically, this user has their own magic system with multiple astrological things… that I’m not qualified to list!

In my mind, I wanted the user to be female, and all the poses are inspired by constellations. When she activates powers with this stand, her character outline is drawn like a star map, so it’s very beautiful when being destroyed by this stand user lol. I basically only had the visual and general idea in my mind…

『Starrider』- OC Stand

『Starrider』is a Foreigner reference. This is my version of an airplane/flying stand like Narancia’s 『Aerosmith』, and I finally, finally know what I want it to do. This has been on the back burner of my mind for way too long.

『Starrider』takes the form of a flying, triangular plane. Its design is based on the game Asteroids for Atari, but it is also a reference to most retro space/shooter games - Space Invaders and Galaga included.

It has the ability to scan for hostiles, including their effects (like Calamity from『Wonder of U』), and potentially combat it. However, 『Starrider』does this a little differently.

Similar to how 9S hacks into machines/technology to fight in Nier: Automata, 『Starrider』enters into its target area and initiates a battle like a shoot ‘em up. If the stand can win this minigame, it can undo or reverse whatever effect is on something. This allows it to fight things that may not normally be able to be touched.

In a normal scenario, 『Starrider』has 0 combat potential. If it makes some degree of sense, this stand can infiltrate it, but the minigame to beat gets tougher based on how powerful the opponent is.

For example, this stand can technically sense and infiltrate the calamity force used by 『Wonder of U』, but it would have a near impossible time surviving the shoot ‘em up section of it. If the stand is damaged during this sequence, the user also takes the damage, so they need to be careful on their decisions.

It would work against『Vitamin C』, by undoing the softening/melting effect on its victims. However, this stand does not have any attack options unless it is actively infiltrating something. It could be like a support/healing stand.

This stand can also be used to infiltrate a person’s body to destroy cancerous cells, infiltrate physical locks or internet firewalls, or even water to blast away impurities. If it makes some degree of sense, it can do it.

『Freestyler』&『Suga Suga』- OC Stands

I kind of want these stand users to be a couple, regardless of gender or whatever. This is my first idea for a romantic partnership, I guess?

『Freestyler』is a Bomfunk MC’s reference. It is a purely physical attack stand, with the ability to immediately learn new moves from its environment or from another person, or really anything it’s seen before.

This is similar to how spin users can be inspired by nature with the golden ratio, or how Taskmaster (Marvel Comics character) has “photographic reflexes”. This allows the user to watch a Kung Fu movie and immediately learn their moves, or allow the user to see something in real life, and be able to mimic the move by interpretation (crane style martial arts by watching how cranes hunt).

The stand buffs the user slightly, but all the attacks are from the user themselves. It allows the user to contort their body slightly, be more nimble with gymnastics, and basically be a CQC master very, very fast. The user doesn’t normally use a weapon to fight, but this is also covered by his ability.

I’m not entirely sure what it would look like, but maybe a headband? Maybe because that symbolizes the fighting spirit when it is tied? Not sure…

The user would be similar to Chie from Persona 4, or Might Guy/Rock Lee from Naruto. They have an obsession with Kung Fu movies, UFC, boxing, training, anything that they can use to get stronger. They love improving themselves, and are genuinely nice to be around — usually more humble, and down-to-earth, but fierce when they fight.

『Suga Suga』is a Baby Bash reference. Its ability is to grant itself and others the ability to fly. …that’s really it, but it would be awesome to have this!! Lol

The stand works like Tinker Bell from Peter Pan, with pixie/fairy dust. It uses this dust, which looks like “Suga Suga (sugar)” being sprinkled on its targets. Yes, this pun gave me enough confidence to post this online, and I’m sorry.

I guess you could use the stand in creative ways, like deactivating it to drop very heavy items, or lift up impossibly heavy things. You could also use it to delicately remove something, I suppose. Maybe even use it on an enemy, so they are stuck in the air and you can escape them.

The stand user would be someone who is a dreamer, and is very optimistic, preferring not to kill their enemy if possible. They love using this ability on their friends, and traveling with them. If I had to also reference a general character type… maybe like Hinata from Naruto, or Aang from Avatar would work?

This stand works in juxtaposition to 『Freestyler』, because the user would lean towards more pacifist solutions. Again, it might be awesome to switch up how these types of powers are normally assigned by gender, and they are a better couple for it.

『21 Seconds』or 『So Solid Crew』- OC Stand/ Computer Virus

DISCLAIMER: It does NOT look like these Digimon!! I just wanted it to be a reference for the general vibe of it.

『21 Seconds』or 『So Solid Crew』is a reference to the name of the song/band, respectively. It is a sentient computer virus with the ability to control any device, usually causing it to go haywire, or explode.

It has a duration of 21 seconds, and will usually self-destruct before moving on to the next device to control within its range. It continues until its target is destroyed.

It can strategically control devices, and lure its target to even more dangerous things — missile control centers, life support systems, and basically whatever else you can imagine.

I wanted the stand to only show digitally, and have a different color scheme or texture on it, like in Digimon:The Movie or Summer Wars. It could also show on TV screens and monitors as a video game avatar (16-bit, PS1 graphics, stuff like that).

In the song, “21 Seconds”, the rappers trade off the microphone roughly every 21 seconds, and each rapper is doing their own thing with their own personality. I wanted to use that idea in this stand!

Its weakness is that it only works on technology, and it must use all 21 seconds before exploding/leaving to another device. So, it is technically possible to isolate it and extract it somehow. Destroying the device does not destroy the stand, however.

『The Final Countdown』- OC Main Villain Stand

DISCLAIMER: This is a repost of a stand I wanted to enter for a contest, but I honestly didn’t read all the rules, and my post was removed. Fair is fair, and that’s my bad! However, since I’m a gigantic nerd, I still want to share it, lol. It also gave me a bit of time to make slight improvements, I think so anyway.

『The Final Countdown』is a Europe reference. Its ability is both very simple, but potentially incredibly complicated. Its power is to divide timelines and perceptions of everyone involved in fighting it. When activating this ability, it initiates a countdown, and when the countdown is complete, the timelines converge back into one main timeline.

The only one who if fully conscious of this effect is the user, similar to how Funny Valentine is aware of his extra-dimensional selves. It works by making all its combatants the center focus of their timeline within its countdown.

Let’s say『The Final Countdown』is fighting Person A and Person B, and it activates its ability. Person A could have killed/destroyed『The Final Countdown』 or the user, while Person B actually witnessed Person A die instead. When the countdown is over, the user of will have survived, while Person A is permanently dead.

The stand breaks down how everyone perceives it or their reality, and picks and chooses what it wishes to keep. This also includes any witnesses. As long as one instance of 『The Final Countdown』is alive, it will return. If several people fight it during its countdown, as long as one 『The Final Countdown』survives, it will converge the timeline together instantly, and only keep favorable things.

Fighting it from your point-of-view could be very confusing, because you totally won… but then a noise comes in and your head is flying off or something. You could compare it to 『King Crimson』in that way, however this stand is actually far more dangerous when multiple people see it at one time.

Because of how it bases the timelines on the combatants fighting it, there is a psychological angle to fighting it. The stand starts the countdown without others knowing it is happening. You could be on the hero team with your friends in one moment, and then your whole party is wiped out from their individually bad decisions in their own timelines. It means that you could run and hide from this stand, and if at least one timeline causes your death, you will die. This is sort of like how『Bites the Dust』kills the victim no matter what, because they already died.

The stand is incredibly powerful, humanoid, and can punch holes through solid steel. It is actually more dangerous based on how many people are fighting it, or how many people are currently witnessing it.

This is a stand that would usually be used by a main villain. This main villain would have “main character syndrome”, and 『The Final Countdown』would add to his delusion of being the only one that matters. He feels that everyone is written around him, and that he is the center of this universe (which his stand…kinda helps with).

Based on these lyrics, and general energy of this song:

“We're leavin' together
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To Earth, who can tell?
I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground (leaving ground)
Will things ever be the same again?

It's the final countdown
The final countdown”

Its design is very simple, but striking. It’s based on the Doomsday Clock and the Long Now Clock (mainly because its design is super cool, as the main justification lol), which is a measurement by The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists to when humanity will collapse by its own actions. I think it says “IT IS 85 SECONDS TO MIDNIGHT” right now, for instance. It is a white background, one black curve to act like the side of the clock, and pure black dots for numbers, and black small and large hands for telling time. I was going to use the current time on the actual Doomsday Clock as the length of time 『Final Countdown』can be active. Although the countdown starts without a warning, when it ends it makes a terrifying bell-like noise, sort of like a funeral noise but deeper and twisted.

Because this stand is so powerful, I wanted it to evolve from a different one first, and I think 『1999』by Prince would be a great one. Maybe it could be where 『1999』is like an “egg” or mid-transformation somehow, and then when it hits the Year 2000 in the story, 『The Final Countdown』is born. “Party over! Oops, out of time!”

EDIT: Maybe instead of reaching Heaven, the villain is trying to reach a NEW MILLENNIUM?? Idk, make it dramatic!

Imagine it hitting the Year 2000, people are shooting fireworks off, and think this is just another firework, when it is actually this emerging for the first time. The whole world celebrating the new millennium, while the main characters are like “wtf is happening?!”. The beginning of the song “The Final Countdown” playing, and then it cuts to credits like the Phantom Blood continue/“Roundabout” theme playing. I think it would be pure cinema, personally!

『Mad World』- OC Stand (Probably so many variations of this idea!)

『Mad World』is a Tears for Fears reference (but I found this creepy Donnie Darko picture for the vibe), and absolutely has had to have been done a billion times before, but I think I have a unique spin on it.

『Mad World』has the ability to lock people into their decisions/animations, ruining their ability to adapt to new things that are currently happening. It can hide in plain sight… while everyone knows it’s there, but they are unable to do anything until their turn/action/commitment is done.

If this user attacks you in a crowded area like a mall, all the people there know something bad is happening mentally, but be unable to express themselves or move from their animation, until whatever they’re doing is over.

If you are committed to walking home,『Mad World』can lock you in place with its ability. The user can taunt and berate you while it is active, and there is nothing you can do until you arrive home, if you can even make it. If you were going to reach out to shake his hand, and he pulls out a gun, you would continue the gesture of attempting to shake his hand, and be unable to react fast enough to stop him.

With this animation lock, all the stand user would have to do is knock someone over like a video game NPC to immobilize them. They could take someone who was sitting down to read a book, and put their head in a fountain to drown them, because they wouldn’t be able to stop reading in time to save themselves.

In my opinion, I have a really good way to show off just how terrifying this ability could be. I would have one of the hero characters nearly kill him, or think they’ve killed him, and then they start crawling to safety or their home base.

Because they thought they’ve won, and are leaving, 『Mad World』locks them into that decision, and follows them. The main character would fully know they are being followed, but be unable to stop it. Because of that one moment of overconfidence, they could put their entire team in danger.

『Mad World』was my idea for a reimagining of 『Highway to Hell』from Part 6. The user is still suicidal and depressed, but has a creepy fascination with his own abilities. He, for lack of a better term, gets off on being in control of other’s lives. He usually does not immediately kill his victims, as he would rather toy with them first.

EDIT: I didn’t really describe the feeling of this stand activating or the user. In my mind, I imagine the user has very tired eyes, but they are very large, similar to L from Death Note. He is constantly glaring and analyzing, adding to the feeling of being studied like an animal while his ability is active.

The burning human feeling of when someone is behind you, or looking at you from a distance, is identical to the sensation of this stand being used. You could say it’s a weakness, because people with experience would know he’s nearby, but it’s still a very creepy feeling…

『Bombtrack』- OC Stand

『Bombtrack』is a Rage Against the Machine reference. It borrows some attributes from DC Comic’s The Flash, but has a few other tricks.

『Bombtrack』is a somewhat integrated stand, that’s sort of the antithesis of 『White Album』from Part 5. It allows the user to move/vibrate quickly at a molecular level, allowing them to cause friction fires, phase through objects, and move incredibly fast.

It has a secondary ability to where if it makes contact with its target while “unstable (don’t know what else to call it yet)” it makes them “unstable”, so their molecules are rapidly vibrating, causing their bodies and everything they touch to rapidly vibrate, engulfing in flames like a chain reaction. Unlike normal fire, it’s impossible to put out unless the victim of the attack is returned back to their normal state. I think it’s different enough from 『Speed King』from Part 8, but it’s a rough draft!

I wanted him to be a Jobro character, sort of like a Bruno-type, where this is someone you can really rely on. The stand integrates and fuses with the user, but when it is summoned, it goes to the user’s side with a unique pose like Narancia’s 『Aerosmith』.

Similar to the effect in “Back to the Future”, it goes through a portal and leaves fire skid marks like the DeLorean. Or when Ness teleports in the “Super Smash Bros Melee” intro! I think it’d be really cool to see its introduction more than anything.

『Dead And Gone』- OC Stand

『Dead And Gone』is a T.I. Reference. It acts like a blessing or debuff, depending on your own personal views for this kind of ability. Maybe I’ll reconsider making this ability so mean… because I really do like this song. Lol

The stand has the ability to continually reset someone, if they have violent actions, or strong intentions to harm something. I was mainly inspired by 『Jail House Lock』in how it passively controls inmates, but it also borrows the reset of『Bites the Dust』, so people under its ability continually reset until they make the “right choice”.

It’s similar to the main argument of the novel, “A Clockwork Orange”, because it forces the victim to either comply to its demand, or be stuck in a personal purgatory forever. It can “rehabilitate” the victim, but can ultimately lead to stripping them of their own free will.

In the song, when it says “the old me is dead and gone”, it is referring to the reset of this ability triggering again, because the violent action and mindset of the victim of 『Dead And Gone』is literally dead and gone.

『Blumenkranz』- OC Stand

『Blumenkranz』 is a Hiroyuki Sawano reference, and is an awesome song in Kill La Kill. Normally, I wouldn’t put anime songs as a stand ability, but I really vibe with this one.

『Blumenkranz』has the ability to power-up plants/fungi in strange ways, in order to protect itself and its “user”. It is a stand similar to 『Sugar Mountain』from Steel Ball Run.

If I’m using an anime reference, I may as well explain using another anime reference. 『Blumenkranz』is like the sand gourd that Gaara carries on his back in Naruto, in that it is someone else’s will to protect him.

『Blumenkranz』is so focused on protecting the person it’s been assigned to, that it views everything else as a threat to them. The person that it is protecting is not actually the stand user, and cannot see the actual stand that protects them. It is revealed later that the stand is the parental figure that died, and it carries on the will to protect its child.

Examples of its ability include making pollen far more lethal, grass and leaves becoming like razors (Aeon Flux grass scene lol), vines crushing people with powerful force, pinecones and even dandelions exploding like grenades with pollen.

It can also lure people away with sweet scents into a trap, like how a Venus fly trap or pitcher plant lures in bugs. It can use cordyceps and other fungus to control living things to fight for itself and destroy their bodies when it’s done with them.

『Blumenkranz』is the will of the mother to protect her child, but the stand is automatic and twisted. Since it believes everything is a threat, the child is afraid of meeting others and lives in seclusion. The stand creates things for the child that it believes it’ll enjoy… and it’s as creepy as it sounds.

Now this is the bizarre part of this JJBA OC — It can create zoophytes, which are plants that take the form of animals, like the Vegetable Lamb of Tartary. Basically, it does whatever it can to shield the child away from the world, even if that’s not what the kid wants. In order to finally remove the stand, the child has to reconcile with their mother from beyond the grave.

『Nevermind』- OC Stand

『Nevermind』 is a Leonard Cohen reference, and one of the more serious references I’ve used. I think the song is phenomenal, and I want to give this song a really exceptional power. I’m still developing what I want it to be, but I have a rough idea so far.

The song is incredibly deep and personal, and goes into things I wouldn’t want to post on a subreddit like this one (for lack of my own interpretation/understanding).

The user is a survivor, maybe the last of his kind, or organization, and is working on avenging them or simply surviving. 『Nevermind』has the ability to seize the knowledge of anything for itself. Anything it seizes with its hands is “lost” to all other beings, and it alone remembers or knows how to use it.

It can hide the user with touch, because the knowledge of his existence is temporarily lost. It can touch a guitar, and no other being on Earth will know how to play it, or use anything similar. It’s the users own way to own the world, if only briefly. He likes to demonstrate his powers to show everyone how delicate the world can be, and how people should focus on knowledge/memory, over material things — be happy with what they have, in a sense.

The musical reference is more about his struggle in life, and why he still continues to fight. Similar to 『The Hand』, he has an extremely dangerous ability, but leans more into being a good person and fighting the temptation to use it. He’s a much older gentleman, and does not like to battle anyone, if he can help it. He does not like to hurt the younger generation, because he believes they could make a better future than what he had. He would be sort of like mentor character for the main group.

『The Final Countdown』- God/Deity Stand

『The Final Countdown』is a Europe reference. Its ability is both very simple, but potentially incredibly complicated. Its power is to divide timelines and perceptions of everyone involved in fighting it. He feels that everyone is written around him, and that he is the center of this universe (which his stand…kinda helps with).

For this stand contest for gods/deity inspired stands, I would have to say this is inspired by Chronos, and “kairos” the philosophy/rhetoric for a “critical moment” or “perfect timing”, because that is essentially what this stand creates for itself.

Based on these lyrics, and general energy of this song:

“We're leavin' together
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To Earth, who can tell?
I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground (leaving ground)

Although the countdown starts without a warning, when it ends it makes a terrifying bell-like noise, sort of like a funeral noise but deeper and twisted.

If I had to pick a stand for the next contest…maybe the complete opposite! A stand that would be really great for a support character, and be really fun to see them use.

『 Fantastic Voyage』 - OC Stand

Fantastic Voyage is a Coolio reference. It has the ability to accelerate objects, including the user, like how hyperspace/warp speed/ particle accelerators work.

I got the idea from a very, very specific scene in a Star Wars movie. Although the scene itself doesn’t entirely work for the Star Wars canon per se, it’s the scene in The Last Jedi where a starship rams a larger starship by hitting lightspeed. The silence followed by the stunning visuals, then the lone sound like a shooting bullet got me thinking.

Basically, I wanted to take that visual and base a power around it. I was randomly listening to recommended music on YouTube, and was like WAIT, oh my god.

Starship, travel, voyage,… it’s a type of fantastical voyage… 『 Fantastic Voyage』!! I also think it’d be really fun to use in real life.

『The Journey』- OC Stand

『The Journey』is a… Journey, the band, reference. Based mainly on the song “Wheel in the Sky”, but it’s more about the vibe of the band itself.

『The Journey』is essentially a combination of 『Under World』and 『Bohemian Rhapsody』from Stone Ocean. It has the ability to recreate historic events, and can also overlap them. The event doesn’t have to be that significant to be used, but it takes longer for the stand to process and recreate much older, larger events (similar to 『Moody Blues』needing to rewind).

The user can instant replay an event that just happened, such as if a door hits someone, he can replay the afterimage of the door to hit them again. He can infiltrate buildings, by having a security keypad replay the finger taps to open it.

Crazier things the stand can do are allow the user to walk on the air, by bringing up the afterimages of the birds that used to fly there (WISH I COULD DRAW, THAT’D BE A SICK PANEL). It can be used to replay the water in a spring or something, after a drought, and drink it to survive. The downside of the stand is that it has to find the “thread” of events, similar to finding archived videos in real life. It takes a lot of power and focus to use this stand effectively.

I want to be respectful, but it can also replay dangerous historic events. Bombings, natural disasters, human atrocities, etc etc. 『The Journey』”hits play” on these events, and can immediately work on initiating another one. Similar to 『Bohemian Rhapsody』, it has the potential to initiate several events across the world, but like 『Under World』, the user has to physically be in the location to start the event. The events that it creates play exactly as they happened, so people from the recorded past do not notice the current timeline. It’s like a bunch of ghosts/afterimages to a normal person at that current time.

I wanted the stand to take the design inspiration of a View Master 3D toy, and be a short humanoid with very inquisitive body language. Although the user is cool, calm, and collected, the stand acts more theatrical and cartoonish - holding its finger up when it has an idea, scratching its head when it tries to think, or rubbing its chin when processing something.

OC Main Villain Stand - 『Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me』

This was my idea for a reimagining of Pucci’s 『White Snake』, before Part 9 came along, lol.

『Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me』is an Elton John reference, but may also borrow other Elton John songs as references to the user’s personality. Its ability is to make others see the consequences of their actions, and manipulate “experiences”.

Similar to how 『White Snake』can steal stands, or seal away attributes of something, 『Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me』can take away the experiences/memories of others, and also implant fabricated ones. The user can take the talents, knowledge, and memories of his targets for himself. He can change people to fit the image he wants, by implanting false memories and experiences into his victims.

It also has a self-defense mechanism when attacked. Similar to how Pucci’s goal was to have others experience their fate and learn from it, 『Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me』acts like the Point of View Gun from Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. The attacker is quickly shown/experiences the pain that they are about to inflict on the user. The pain of this effect triggering is strong enough to immobilize the assailant. Essentially, if you attack, you experience the FATE of that other person in full force.

『Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me』takes the form of a humanoid trapped on the back of the user, so the user is basically a mirror of their shadow/symmetrical. When their ability is in effect, the user has a halo/disc behind their head, similar to Christian/Renaissance depictions of saints/holy figures. This is also borrowing some of the design philosophy behind 『Silver Chariot Requiem』.

The user’s goal is to achieve world peace in his own twisted way, gathering people with exceptional abilities to be brainwashed and used as sacrifices. It is revealed that the user of this ability does see the same effect as the “POV Gun” when he attacks others, but has gone numb to suffering, and believes he is much better for it. If everyone sees how their actions truly hurt others, maybe the world will be cleansed of hatred. So, instead of everyone seeing their individual fate, it’s everyone knowing how they affect the fate of others.

『Shatter Me』& 『Jukebox Hero』- OC Stands

These are more upsetting. I wrote all the OC stands I’ve shared today as an alternate Part 6. I made all of these before Part 8 was finished, or Part 9 was even a thing. It was going to be a JJBA part taking place in Alaska, but more like the Indiana Jones movies, with treasure hunters and other competitors from across the world seeking artifacts that could change reality.

I’m now making a different story about Alaska with powers, but trying to steer clear of JJBA, as to make my own thing and respectfully not copy Araki. When I read Part 6, then watched the anime, I felt Araki had so much potential with it, and I wanted to make a spiritual successor that allowed time for that kind of story to breathe. Obviously, I was heavily inspired by Steel Ball Run to change how I see the world, and how mysticism/stands could be used to influence it. Because of him, I finally started writing, instead of being afraid to really express myself. I have a long way to go, but I really am thankful to him in that way.

『Shatter Me』— Lindsey Sterling reference. The user activates this ability automatically if they are harmed. It causes their body to shatter and violently react, slicing whatever the fragments come in contact with. The user is fragile, but can’t actually be destroyed. Due to the unpredictability of the shards, the user is also a danger to their teammates.

If she is captured, she can damage herself to break apart and potentially destroy her surroundings. If I had to choose a user, it would be a lady who’s a good person, but is very worried about her ability triggering on accident. She isolates herself from others, worried that she’d accidentally kill her teammates/loved ones.

『Juke Box Hero』— Foreigner reference. The user has the ability to carry on the legacy of others. When someone close to the user falls in battle/dies, the user gains some degree of their power. This must be a meaningful connection, and the user is not the type to kill his friends or teammates (it wouldn’t work this way anyway). The stands learning ability is technically limitless, but it doesn’t have 100% mastery of the powers it borrows. The user gains the ability to remix the powers he gains as well, so fusing the ability of two or more stands to a limited degree.

Like the song, the user when activating this ability has a unique physical feature — he gets “stars in his eyes”, and he uses the poses of the stands/characters he is borrowing the abilities from, and maybe channels their way of speaking/mannerisms.

Obviously, I kind of wanted this to be the main character’s stand. After realizing how its ability works, the user is in a state of panic. Because he almost has the key to ultimate power, he is worried about his motivations for being a hero. He greatly benefits from his loved one’s dying, and this causes him to have an eternal struggle with wanting to always have gratitude for their sacrifice, and not lose his nerve to fight for the right thing. I wanted the villain to bring up how he gains power from others, and tempt him to join the dark side, so to speak.

『Inside Peanut Butter, Outside Jelly』or simply 『PB & J』— Joke stand from nowhere, lol.

Today, I’m just emptying out my ideas. Sorry!!

『Inside Peanut Butter, Outside Jelly』— Cadillac Don & J-Money reference. The stands name is supposed to be ridiculous to say, so I made the name of it longer than the actual name of the song lol.

The stand takes the form of an old-fashioned RC Car controller (that’s really crazy looking with brown and purple colors). It wirelessly connects to any vehicle within a very large range, and has full control of it.

The people inside the vehicle don’t know they are being controlled by 『Inside Peanut Butter, Outside Jelly』, because it makes all vibrations, sounds, and visuals (including to what is outside the windows) seem correct. The user of 『Inside Peanut Butter, Outside Jelly』can make the target run over pedestrians, or nosedive a plane, and no one inside the vehicle would know it was actually happening.

The weakness of the stand is if anyone looks outside of the windows of the vehicle it is controlling. However, the stand user tries his best to encourage the target to not need to do this (keeping the temperature perfect, showing annoying things on the windows like bugs or something, so that the target won’t want to roll down the window).

We also need more rap references!! Even if they are borderline crazy lol
