MotoGP Japan Friday :)

Just edited some of my photos from MotoGP Free Practice yesterday, and I’m honestly really proud of how they turned out.
This was only my second time shooting with my Sigma 150-600mm, and shooting bikes at this speed is still a huge challenge for me. There were definitely plenty of misses, but I’m really happy with some of the shots I managed to get.
I’m also really proud of how much I’ve improved over the past year. Looking back at my first motorsport photos compared to these, the difference is honestly kind of crazy. I still have a lot to learn, but it’s really rewarding to see the progress.

Would upgrading from a Canon 700D to an EOS R7 be worth it for me, especially for motorsports?

I’m considering buying a Canon EOS R7 in Japan for around €1,000 new (or around €808 used in very good condition).
I’m purely a hobby photographer, so I’m not shooting professionally or making money from photography.
My current gear:
Canon EOS 700D
Canon EF-S 18–55mm
Canon EF-S 55–250mm
Canon EF-S 10–18mm
Sigma 150–600mm f/5–6.3 DG OS HSM Sports (Canon EF)
Slik monopod
I mainly photograph motorsports, especially motorcycle racing (Suzuka 8 Hours, MotoGP, etc.), and this is probably the area I care about most. I also really enjoy photographing birds, animals, horses, wildlife, travel/Japan, and everyday subjects. I’m mainly interested in photography, although I’d also like to get more into video.
I’d use an EF-EOS R adapter so I can keep using all my current lenses.
I’m also considering the R8 and R6 Mark II. The R8 is around €1,170 new here, while the R6 Mark II is around €2,080 new. The price difference between the R7 and R6 Mark II is unfortunately really huge for me, especially since I’m only a hobby photographer.
For those who have used the R7: Would you say it’s worth upgrading from the 700D in my situation, especially for motorsports?
Would the improvement in autofocus/tracking, burst rate, vehicle detection, image quality and cropping ability be significant enough to justify spending around €1,000? And how does it perform for birds, animals and other fast-moving subjects?
I’d especially love to hear from people who have made a similar jump from an older DSLR to the R7. Did it actually make a noticeable difference to your photography, or would you recommend sticking with the 700D for now and investing the money elsewhere?

Suzuka 8 hours

First time using my new lens at the track and also my first time trying panning shots. It was definitely harder than I expected, but a lot of fun!
Spent the weekend at the Suzuka 8 Hours and the atmosphere was fantastic. We were even able to get into the pit lane after the race, celebrate with the teams, and high-five some of the riders.
Thanks to a rider friend, I even ended up crashing the Honda after-party, which definitely wasn’t something I expected when the weekend started 😅
Still have a lot to learn when it comes to motorsport photography, but I’m pretty happy with how some of these shots turned out. Any tips for improving my panning shots are welcome!
