Do you believe in God?

Because I do. And it’s only because of Him that quitting Feel Free is becoming a reality for me. I’ve tried to quit several times in the past but the withdrawal-induced depression was far too much to take to stick with it.

Because I make a decent amount of money, buying a box a day - though financially disgusting - wasn’t too big of a deal. And because I didn’t have the mental or emotional fortitude to just quit, my financial stability enabled me to continue… until now. I never thought financial ruin would be a blessing but here we are.

Having asked God for an off ramp from Feel Free, He seemingly delivered in a most unconventional way - make me broke so I can’t afford to buy them, specifically during the period of time it’ll take to fully withdraw, because it seems my financial ruin will subside about the same time I won’t crave FF anymore. I stopped believing in coincidence a loooong time ago. And though I won’t go into the specifics of why I am suddenly broke, the reasons behind it are… odd… to say the least. A collective of very unlikely scenarios happening all at once.

And to boot, I asked Him to get me through this without the severe depression. I can deal with all the other withdrawal symptoms, just not the depression. And thus far, 3 days in (I made it to 2 days last time before the darkness was too much to bear), I’ve never been happier.

To be fair, with the disastrous situation surrounding my finances plus quitting FF at the same time, I reeeaallly should be very depressed right now. But I’m not, not at all. I’m content. I’m happy. Ironically, I actually feel free for once.

So, hang in there folks. And if you’re not a believer in what God can provide in your life, especially during the most difficult times, I would encourage you to give Him a chance. He may not always answer prayer in the way we’d like, but His answer is absolute and His ability to get us through tough times is unwavering.

Anyone else still waiting on Minas Tirith?

I placed my order 60 days ago with the promise that it would ship in 60 days. It has not shipped. And worse, after contacting LEGO to find out the status, they said it’ll be ANOTHER 60 days. This is absurd. But hey, they gave me 500 insider points as a “we’re sorry we lied,” which is just enough to buy nothing.

I never thought I’d be here…

The title is self explanatory. I never thought I would become dependent on these things. I’ve abused a myriad of drugs throughout my life, having quit all of them cold turkey and been free from drugs for a decade before starting Feel Free (the name is ironically obnoxious - my wife put it as “Feel Free from your freedom.”). All of the other drugs I took, from cocaine to adderall to a cocktail of opiates, I never felt like the withdrawals were as serious as trying to ditch Feel Free. Maybe it’s because I was younger then and my body could handle it better. But these damn drinks are like nothing else.

I suffer from depression that I’ve managed extremely well through non-prescription methods, such as staying active, eating and sleeping well, finding things in life that bring me joy, etc. But coming off of feel free has set me back 8 years, as that was the last major depression episode I had. I guess I probably have to tip-toe around what words I use as Reddit may flag it as “dangerous, self harm, etc”, but I found myself in a parking lot last night both wishing I had and thankful I didn’t have my firearm. Feel Free is an absolute wrecking ball on your mental state when trying to stop using them.

I can deal with the other symptoms (physical pain, lethargy, insomnia, nausea, etc), but I cannot deal with the depression. It’s just far too much. So, I’ve decided to step down my intake rather than stop all at once. I’m now drinking two a day, down from an average of 6-8 a day.

Has anyone else stepped down their intake of Feel Free instead of stopping cold turkey and how successful was that method for you? Any suggestions to help ease the process and make sure I don’t just relapse into taking far more like I had been doing?

Much love and appreciation to everyone in this group. Thank you to whoever started this subreddit. And congratulations to everyone who has successfully quit these things, and to those trying, I know what you’re going through. Stay strong. Stay focused. This shit is hard but I believe we as humans were designed to overcome challenges, big and small. History has proven that.

And to the creators of Feel Free, 🖕.
