Does season 3 give you hope?

Does season 3 give you hope?

There are many criticisms about season two through all this time, which makes most (and myself) hesitant about the future seasons. If they are gonna adapt books 4 and 5.

The season 3 trailer released at D23, and what are your guys thoughts now upon viewing it?

Live action ‘Lady Oscar’ art.

Based on Catriona MacColl‘s Oscar and the 1979 adaptation directed by Jacques Demy.

Overall, I feel like the movie is okay. There are many things that deserve criticism in it though. Oscar doesn’t really feel like Oscar, she seems less stern and more so unsure in a way? I feel like that’s the best way I can describe Catriona’s performance. No hate to the actress ofc! I just wish there was a different approach from the writers. I do really like the outfits in the movie, especially Oscar’s dress when she attends the ball. Yeah it technically wasn’t the one from the manga, but it still looked beautiful on her. Many things were rushed in the movie to fit into the 2 hr mark, especially on how they underuse Rosalie and skip over the Madame Du Berry arc completely. But, I suppose it was done to focus more so on the Diamond Necklace Scandal.

Hot Take: I don’t like André.

PLEASE read my reasoning for my opinion.

In terms of the anime and manga, I did initially enjoy his character in the beginning. He seemed like a chill dude and a good companion of Oscar’s. I liked their dynamic. Obviously you could tell he was gonna be the actual love interest in the end, but I was very fascinated how it would develop over time when first reading and watching Rose of Versailles, especially with Oscar pinning after Fersen. André had deep agonizing love for her but decided to be her shadow and right hand man most of the time, and be there for her when needed. And especially when Oscar was whiling to lay down her life for him back when he was in trouble with the horse incident (the one with Marie) André’s love for her grew and he felt eternally in debt to her. Promising one day he’ll lay down his life for her (foreshadowing.)

That was all cool, and I loved the chemistry. But I feel like that all went down the drain nearing the end of The Black Knight arc, when Andre corners Oscar in her chambers and forces himself on her. Now, Ikeda likely did this for fan service, and to showcase how far André’s painful love for Oscar went, but it has forever disgusted me, and has warped my perception of André. The subject of it kinda gets pushed aside in RoV and glossed over, André promises never to do it again and Oscar forgives him pretty fast. From that point on, it’s never brought up again. Then later on, André puts poison in the wine of Oscar’s cup and his own, in an attempt of a double homicide. However, upon realizing how wrong and selfish it is, he intentionally makes Oscar spill her cup on the floor.

I’ve seen people justifying his actions due to the fact André saw each time he was in the wrong, but honestly I don’t think that’s gonna be enough to justify his actions to Oscar. Taking advantage of her autonomy, almost killing her because he desires to be with her forever? Yeah no…

Obviously since this was written in the 70’s, and you look at it from a modern point of view, it’s gonna be messed up. But I feel it’s important to also remember what he did do to her.
In the end, Oscar ultimately chose André due to the lifelong companionship. But I definitely do think he wasn‘t the best pick for her overall. Though, no one truly was. Fersen saw Oscar as a friend and brother-in-arms. Griodelle loved Oscar, but only really wanted a wife. Don’t even get me started on Alain, I have my beef with him too. And Rosalie was far too young for her (and it would’ve been scandalous for its time due to the fact their both women.)

I do like seeing the art with Oscar and André, but I just can’t help the thoughts that creep into my head when I look at them and remember the stuff in the manga and anime. Hence making me not ship them at all.

If you do like André and his relationship with Oscar, that’s okay. I’m not here to try to change your mind about the boy, he is a deeply flawed man. But I don’t want that to excuse for his actions. I just wanna share my thoughts on him as a whole. Let me know your own thoughts!

Attempts at RoV’s show artstyle with my OC Pierrot.

I definitely find that drawing in the show’s artstyle is easier for me than Ikeda’s artstyle. I adore her style in her mangas, but it’s weirdly hard for me to grasp comfortably.

Window of Orpheus OC: Esther Von Velentin

Personality: He’s charming, out spoken, compassionate and charismatic. But he’s also a workaholic, tends to put his needs behind and make room for others over himself. Like if he was bleeding out from a cut but Julius needed something, he’d immediately go to her own aid. He can be nagging to people but neglectful about his own health.

He is an opera singer and also a musician with immense talent but is constantly getting shoved to the side in favor of more well known famous singers and musicians.

Birth name: Ernest Von Velentin

Backstory: Esther comes from a lower middle class family. His mother was a singer herself, but died when he was 13 from illness, leaving his father severely depressed. At age 15, Ernest’s father took his own life, leaving Ernest in an apartment and small inheritance. And he took on the name of his mother “Esther.”  Ever since he was a child he had always adored the arts and singing was his passion that he got from his mother, but when it came to getting up there with the nobility he was often shoved away for more known Opera Singers, and his talents were overlooked since he wasn’t known as well. Some encouraged him to pick up a modeling career instead because of his looks. But he still wanted to pursue this path of music. So on a scholarship, he went to the same prestigious school that Julius was in, and while he was singing near the The Window of Orpheus, Julius would hear it from outside, and would go up to where he was singing and they would meet for the first time.

Grand secret: Esther’s mother (who was known as Grand Duchess Elizabeth at the time) was the youngest sister to Tsar Nicholes II, at age 16, she fell in love with a mere musician who came to the palace, and fell deeply in love. She eloped with him, took his name, and fled the strict rules of her homeland to Germany. Where she’d have her son Ernest Von Velentin (later known as Esther) and she deeply desired to raise him to be morally better than the rest of the Romanov’s. Growing up, Ernest knew he was royalty but never dabbled into it since he didn’t wanna trouble his mother. However, he secretly got into contact with his youngest female cousin, Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia. And became penpals with the girl. He was only 2 years older than her, and they got along well over letters. Before his mom passed, she gave him a locket watch that could be wound up and play music. A Russian lullaby. On the back of the casing, had the symbol of the imperial family.

Note: Esther’s mom isn’t based on a real sibling the Tsar had, she’s purely made up for Esther’s story. And plot.

Demise: Esther finally scored a role as the main lead for The Grand Theater in the winter time. A production that hadn’t been put on in years but was known as a cultural phenomenon. Was going on to tour all over Europe. Julius was there to witness it and Esther was the most happiest man that ever lived that day. After he did his first performance was done, word reached backstage that The Ahrensmeyer line was being targeted by aristocratic vultures—political assassinations in the dead of winter. Esther didn’t think twice. He ran out of the stage doors, leaving the orchestra, the applause, and his entire career behind. He tracked Julius outside the theatre onto the freezing streets of Regensburg. When the shots fired, when the iron structure began to collapse. He called out her name and told to her look out, and he threw himself over her. The stage makeup mixed with the blood in the snow. It was freezing but as he held her, it was all warmth. She was crying, screaming his name, completely losing the stoic disguise she wore for the academy. As the shallow breathes left his mouth, Esther didn't care about the opera anymore. He didn't care that they’d never hear him sing again. He just used my final, broken notes to nag her one last time. To tell her to button her coat against the winter wind, and to survive righteously for the rest of her days. And how lucky he felt to know someone like her, the 3rd person in his life who had faith in him. He cupped her face with his hands, gazing into her eyes one last time as he felt blessed to see her face and soul one more moment. Before the light completely disappeared from his own eyes. And he went limp, but still having a lingering grip on Julius. This would lead the story into the Russia arc and when Julius runs after Klaus.

Unfamiliar Comfort (Oniisama e animatic, Canon X OC.)

Usobito is my Oniisama e OC who was an a relationship with Rei Asaka 2 years before the start of the anime (but dies later). He was a known to be a ruthless, unhinged gangster part of a masked motorcycle gang famously know as “The Kamen-Kai” and was 3rd in command to their leader. One day while he was patching himself up from a fight, Rei stumbled across the abandoned building he was in. The gang were known for their exotic masks to conceal their identities from the media and authorities, however, in this instance Usobito had his mask off so he could see his wound better. And it laid beside him. And Rei just so happened to walk in on him. At first, Usobito contemplated if he should shoot her upon her unexpected arrival, especially since Rei immediately did recognize the mask. Usobito was known across the news and media as “The Joker” or “The Masked Fool.” Every news station knew his mask, and so did most people. But, Rei didn’t react much upon seeing she was in the presence of the infamous gang member, with not much regard for her life. This made Usobito strangely fascinated with this girl, and instead of killing her, he decided to get to know her. He felt the energy around her, a broken soul who deserves more than what she has.

What if Phillipa Soo played May Castellan?

HEAR ME OUT

Lin Manuel Miranda plays Hermes, and he played Hamilton.

Phillipa Soo played Eliza, one of the Schuyler sisters and wife to Alexander Hamilton. And Phillipa kinda do look like show Luke.

Thoughts?😭

Which one of Ikeda’s creations should be adapted into an anime today?

We got the RoV movie in 2025 (kinda a let down ngl.)

Oniisama e (Dear Brother) was adapted as an anime back in the 90’s, while Window of Orpheus and Claudine stayed put as a manga due to the fact that Claudine was more of a short story, and Ikeda wanted to focus on adapting RoV and Oniisama e. Leaving Window of Orpheus without an anime adaptation, though it did get a musical version for a short while which is basically lost media now.

Let’s say we had the opportunity to get one of Ikeda’s stories made into a show instead of a movie, because I think that was the ultimate thing that made the RoV movie feel weird, is that there wasn’t enough time to flesh out the characters and story. Plus the removal of many individuals that are important to the events of the revolution.

Which one of these stories would you like to see in animation nowadays?

Personally for me, it would be Window of Orpheus.

ALNST OC: Gaia

ALNST OC: Gaia

Gender: Artificially made female clone.

Role: One of Luka’s female clones, essentially a sister. Working for the Human Rebellion.

Appearance: Pale short wavy Blonde hair, pale skin, clouded pale blue wide eyes. Brown goggles on her head. Tool belt around her waist. Fingerless gloves. Scars on her hands and arms from working. Baggy brown pants. More of a round face shape than Luka, which is one of the features that Heperu considered a “defect” from the face he wanted her to have a sharper face shape. Her blue eyes are also considered a defect since he wanted specifically yellow eyes for his perfect idol.

Singing voice claim: Yurica Hanatan

Traits: Pragmatically Compassionate, Stubbornly Independent, Hyper-Perceptive and Analytical, Grounded and Unflappable

Flaws: Deep Emotional Isolation, Cynical Resignation, Sensory Vulnerability.

Backstory: Gaia was one of the many artificially made models to compete in the Alien Stage. Once known as “Subject 07.”Like Luka. Except this time they wanted to experiment with a female counterpart.

However, she was “born” with blindness as an extreme defect in her code. Causing her eyes to have a cloudy, milky appearance to it. This defect ultimately made Heperu deem her as a failure and was about to dispose of her, until a lower-class Ailen requested to purchase her so she can assist with his mechanical work in the slums instead of a traditional idol. Heperu would typically be opposed to having someone buy a clone, but because Gaia’s defect made her so useless in his eyes, he casually had the alien buy her, and left it as that. Believing a blind human would be limited to her abilities. The alien’s name being “Vek’tor.” Even though she can’t see Gaia relies on her hearing, touch and scent. Mostly her hearing though.  She can hear when there’s a mechanical problem and almost instantly point it out. Making her guardian enough money to get by. To which in return he treats her decently. Not out of love, just pragmatic respect. And thus he helps accommodate her more to her liking so she can continue working effectively.

For the rebellion, she modifies alien tech equipment and makes them communication devices for humans. Or any devices that the humans need to carry out their work. She hears Luka’s singing from the Alien stage and radio quite often, but she tries to pay no mind to it. At the time, she knew he’d likely wouldn’t ever find out about her existence. Especially since Luka believes all his clones are gone.

Until at the final, while Luka is cradling Hyuna’s corpse. Gaia would step out, and Luka would finally lay his eyes on the exact mirror of himself. And Gaia would hear his breathes and heart beat synced with her own.

(FYI: this is my first ALNST oc, I just got into the fandom not too long ago so if Gaia’s story seems a bit odd that’s why. I apologize deeply but let me know if you guys wanna see more of her!)

Ikeda OC drawing dump.

These are the OC’s I’ve made for Ikeda’s stories (this include Rose of Versailles, Window of Orpheus, Oniisama e, and Claudine.) I’m doing a quick summary of their stories in this description, if you wanna know more about a certain one, let me know!

Pierrot is my OC from Rose of Versailles, a model for the Duke of Orleans and the one I mainly post about. He died at age 29 after being forced to dance in front of rebels with thorns wrapped around his limbs.

Esther is my window of Orpheus OC, he’s a poor 17 year old opera singer on a scholarship for the academy trying to make it big in the music industry. But his family is tied to the Romanov’s (The imperial Russian Family). Eventually dying at the peak of his career when he landed a main role in an opera, he ended up protecting Julius when an assassination attempt was put on her.

Usobito is my Oniisama e OC, he’s part of a masked motorcycle gang on the streets who like to do whatever pleases them. Living a life of crime and freedom until he met Rei Asaka at age 14. And dying at age 16 from a military standoff, and getting shot to protect his gang. Haunting the narrative of the anime and always perceived differently by everyone. Some view him as a monster, some view him as just a boy (more specifically Rei), and some believe he’s a nuisance (specifically Fukiko lol.)

Pauline is my Claudine OC, she’s a medic for the French militar working in the midst of WWII. Her grandparents raised her for most of her childhood since her mother was dead and her father had a severe case of schizophrenia. Until her grandparents were no longer in the shame to raise her, she was sent to an orphanage until the age of 18 when she enlisted to be a medic. Eventually meeting Claude when he joined and becoming a love interest to him. (I know he takes his own life in the OG story after Sirene’s affair, but I’m just changing it up a bit.) Anyway, Pauline died on the battlefield while helping a wounded soldier. She got shot 4 times in the back but refused to give up until she got her patient on transportation, inevitably passing out and dying.

Alexander Hamilton (Rose of Versailles Animatic)

Song: Alexander Hamilton (by: Lin Manuel Miranda.)

wowiii this took an entire day to do, surprisingly so. I thought it would take me longer but I did kinda rushed it lol. I’ve had this idea in my head for a bit and finally went through with doing it. I lowkey twinkified Alain because I can’t draw muscular men to save my life, dear god. Might remake this in the future but this is just what I got. I tried to try a different way to animate to make it more interestin, kinda think it looks goofy but I did my best. Hope yall enjoy it!
should I do more of these in the future?

Who is singing this song in the context of the Musical?

Jorge released a snippet of Ilium and it sounds great! However who is singing it? I want to try to make an animatic of it but many people in the comments have different answers to who is singing it, some say Helen, Thetis, Hera, etc.

Twins at the Carousel (Rose of Versailles Version.)

If you aren’t aware, there’s this art trend currently where you animate a character from a certain media in a way, and their loved one is circling around their head in a chibi form. I haven’t seen anyone do it with Oscar yet so I decided to give it a shot. I was gonna try to make an animation of it but I got lazy -.-

Oniisama OC #2: More Drawings and Info

A decent amount of people seemed to like the first post I made about Usobito, so here’s some more info and 2 more drawings!

MBTI personality type: ENTP

Birthday: April 1

Japanese Voice claim: Mamoru Miyano (known for Light Yagami in Death Note.)

English voice claim: Daman Mills (Known more specifically for Lyney in Genshin Impact.)

He met Rei Asaka at age 15 (she was also 15) after a fight with gang members from another territory, he snuck into an abandoned building to patch himself up when Rei wandered in to have alone time to herself. Their eyes would meet for the first time, and thus a forbidden love would ignite. Usobito didn’t have his mask on at first so Rei didn’t know that he was a gangster so he just tried to charm her to get her to leave so he could continue patching himself up, but then Rei’s eyes landed on the mask next to him, anyone could tell just from the sight of its design that it was most definitely the mask of Two Face. Rei pointed it out to him and her felt the slight urge to keep her silent, but she didn’t show any fear to him. And as he gazed into her distant eyes, he could tell she is as broken as he is. During the duration of their relationship, Usobito had a habit of picking her up after school leaning against an elm tree and his motorcycle behind him. Of course, he would dress more normally and have a completely different personality in public to conceal his true identity, but once he and Rei were in the clear, his demeanor would completely change back. He’d like to pull up with Sweet Pea flowers and would tuck one either behind Rei’s ear or tuck it somewhere on her clothing. Rei eventually had to learn not to smoke around him because of his sensitivity, which did decrease the amount of packs she did smoke during the time he lived.

Oniisama e OC: Kageyama Usobito

Oniisama (Dear Brother) OC: Kageyama Usobito

Appearance: Blonde curly hair, pale skin, grey eyes, feminine features, subtle freckles on his nose and shoulders. Skinny but still has muscle.

Character role: High rank gang member of a gang called Kamen-kai. A masked gangster group who adored havoc and freedom to do as they pleased but kept their identities concealed behind masks from the public eye. Past love interest to Rei Asaka, after demise he haunts the narrative of the anime. He existed before the events of the anime but died before the actual anime takes place. Dating Rei from ages 15-16.

Hyper sensitive to smells and can smell scents from miles away. It’s a curse and blessing for him. Some scents won’t bother him but stuff like cigars, and cigarettes will absolutely cloud his nose and hurt his head. Anytime one of his members smoke something he will pull out a gun and threaten them until they completely dispose of it. Loves alcohol and the smell of it too, more specifically wine though. Has a fixation on weapons more specifically sharp objects. Gave Rei a butterfly knife.

Gang title: “The Joker.” Or “Two Face” (3rd in command with the leader.)

Personality: Mocking, cynical, joking, witty, manic. His own members of the gang he was apart of never quite knew when he was telling a truth from a lie, and sometimes questioned his loyalty even though he was a good asset to the group according to the leader.

Story: Usobito never knew his parents, and was an orphan and his whole childhood framed around living at a gated orphanage. The “mothers” there (aka what the caretakers were called) were sweet but in a fake way. They’ll be overly nice to a child until the kid disobeyed, then that’s when the metal hangers and belts came in. This trained Usobito to preform and mask his own emotions. It taught him to pretend, be vague, and be under the guise of something he wasn’t. At age thirteen, he ran away from the home and accidentally found his way into the gang’s territory. They knocked him out and interrogated him if he was a spy from the authorities. He slyly slipped away, found a match and lit the facility on fire. Everyone got out and just looked at the boy with anger yet another emotion. The leader then felt this boy would be perfect for them, and offered him a home within their world. Ever since then, he was apart of their world and was infamous all over the news. No one knew his identity though, the gang members tended to wear masks to conceal their faces. And Usobito wore a half weeping and half smiling mask during his jobs.

Death: During a high-stakes heist, the Kamen-kai is cornered by the Japanese military. The gang's leader is about to be captured, which would destroy the only "true home" Usobito ever knew after escaping the abusive orphanage.

To save the leader, Usobito puts on his half-weeping, half-smiling mask and deliberately draws all the police gunfire to himself. As he is shot, his mind flashes back to the metal hangers and belts of his childhood. He lets out his signature manic, mocking laugh, refusing to let the authorities see him cry or show pain. It allowed the rest of the gang to flee, but they were in great mourning afterwards. The Kamen-Kai’s crimes were quiet for some time. The leader blamed himself severely for the loss of Usobito, all the members felt like sons to him and now one of them were gone. After Usobito’s face was revealed to the public, it sparked a fascination among the people revolving around gang members being beautiful. It also proved to the gang that Usobito’s loyalty was genuine. It made news headlines, and Usobito was buried away from the public but the gang still found it. And often visited it to pay their respects.

Fukiko view on Usobito: How would Fukiko feel about Usobito? She knew Reí was dating a mysterious guy for a while and even tried digging more into his past, finding close to nothing. Reí never told her anything no matter how much Fukiko hurt her physically and mentally since she gained confidence for even having someone who loves her. Fukiko knew Usobito’s face since her show up after school on his motorcycle for Reí, and after his face got revealed on the news Fukiko knew the truth of his gang behavior. Personally I think she would constantly mock Reí about him in private, or even whenever Reí would walk into the same room as Fukiko she’d give Reí a glance that would make Rei shudder.

Sebastian Solace Interview Animatic (UNFINISHED)

I made this back at the beginning of 2026 but never finished it due to the entire Zeal and Ren thing, so I was absent from the Pressure Community for awhile. However, I suddenly found this animatic in my camera roll because I recorded it for someone, though I dont have the original animatic anymore since I had to delete CapCut from my device for a bit due to storage. So I can’t really finish it lol.
