FILL THE CHART - Triassic ALPINE edition.

So the idea is to fill this chart with the animals we would like to see in the game in each niche and biome.

RULES:

* Add what niche your suggestion is filling in the chart.

* It's ok to mention animals that we know are coming.

* If you think something I already put in the chart is wrong, feel free to correct me.

* Let's tackle one biome at a time, now it's the ALPINE.

* I will take the upvotes and how many times an animal was suggested into consideration whenever there is more than one option for the same niche

* Don't forget to upvote the comments with the animals you want to see in the game

* If you have any suggestions for the previous gaps, please let us know
_____
Comments:
Lessemsaurus made it! (It was pre-suggested, and people said it should fit in coniferous forests) Nothing else matters!

No, seriously now, it's one of the most unique selections of aquatics so far. It would be the first biome I would make if we suddenly got all of those animals, I would just add a Lisowicia to it for good measure.

The format itself

I split shores and open oceans as it was requested by one of you. I hope there are enough animals to fill it. But the niches will not really make sense when we get there, so, there are two ways to do it,

  1. We could ignore the niches and just go for it.
  2. I can create a separate chart just for those two biomes with niches that make sense when we're talking about them. I will think about those biomes and post them in the comments so we can discuss them before I do it, and see if you all think I should do it, so stay tuned haha.

Whatever we do here about the aquatic biomes will probably be repeated in the next charts

Dolabrosaurus (Hypuronector can glide!)
Machaeroprosus (Rutiodon won just because I liked the picture better; they are almost identical)
Tawa (I honestly like it, but it's very similar to others we already have)

Comments:

The hardest here was small carnivore, but Teleocrater is clearly distinct from all the other with its slender limbs and neck.

I'm not sure if the flyer makes sense, since it's from the Chinle Formation, but since there was no competition and it's a flyer, we can say it would probably spread throughout a large area, so... I accepted Eotephradactylus.

And about Tihkia, first, I couldn't find any real pic, not even from the fossil, second, I think it could work like a "moving decoration" that would work as a feeder for some species, and count as a low score especies, you could add it to any body of water, including the aquatic vivarium, not hard to implement (I think) and quite unique.

I will also say it here: I know most of the flyers we added here would go to the vivarium. Ideally, all the vivarium animals could be placed out of it, that may never happen, we can still hope, though. If this could never be the case, we simply would have them in the vivarium as well.

One last thing: I have decided (for personal reasons) to stop using AI, I was using it to help me research the biomes of the animals, but now I'm checking it manually, trying to search for the formation, which is hard, so it is taking more time.

Not much to say here, everything just made sense. Some of the suggestions here actually went to temperate because it was a better fit, and it was the easiest selection of herbivores ever, these vivariums would be some of the most beautiful in the game.

Also, some of you pointed out that boreal wouldn't work here, should I replace it? And if so, what should I replace it with? My suggestion is another round of semiarid,

Comments:
Not only it was much easier, but also, it actually made the last one easier, because two species moved from semi-arid to temperate, freeing two spots for animals that were missed in the last one:

Triopticus, (or actually Kranosaura, but they are fairly similar, I only chose the latter because the paleoart was more interesting)
and my beloved Poposaurus! (hehe)

Now, talking about temperate, there was barely any competition here, I guess it wasn't the most biodiverse/common biome in the Triassic, but I like how the chart is evolving, so many diverse animals, it would be nothing short from magical to have all of those in the game.

We also got our first gap... which is ok...

OH MY GOD! It was so hard! We've lost some great soldiers here. I'm not gonna lie, it destroyed my heart to leave these guys behind:

I loved Seitaad, it looks like a "generic dinosaur plushie" in a good way, but as always, I try my best to have diversity in the roster, and we already have so many sauropodomorphs, the same goes for my gal Lessemsaurus, which looks a lot like a beackless hadrosaur, like the Iguanodon from Disney's Dinosaurs, I really want it in the game, but I tries to be unbiased.

Saurosuchus is great, but the BIG HEAD GUY has to be here, it's just iconic.

What can I say about Poposaurus (haha), I learned about it yesterday, and I already love him so much, but Herrerasaurus has that JP raptor look while being accurate, which I think is a needed addition to a big part of the community

Triopticus, what a weird dude, to be honest, I can't even defend myself for not adding it, I just wish we could have infinite DLCs and all of those critters could be added eventually

And I exchanged Xenotosuchus for Parotosuchus because it seems like we have more material (and paleoart) of it

So, I can't watch surviving Earth.

I'm not from the USA, and I have found no way to watch it, simply no alternative, nothing, it's literally online, it could be available everywhere, I'm willing to pay for it, but there's nothing I can do apparently, I'm not even sure a VPN would work here. It's beyond frustrating, even when I tried to post about it in some subreddits to get tips, the post was removed because it didn't 100% fit the sub, there's nothing else I can do, I'm just venting my frustration.

It's not even the first time I lost a paleontological content because of it.

There was also Primitive War and the new Walking With Dinosaurs.

I swear we like dinosaurs in my country too.

FILL THE CHART - Triassic DESERT edition.

So the idea is to fill this chart with the animals we would like to see in the game in each niche and biome.

The format itself: Since this is the first new post, this is the time to actually work on the format, the biomes, the niches, etc. I think the addition to the new herbivore niche will be welcome, since it was so disputed in the old chart. I also grouped the animals differently and changed the orientation and font size to make it clearer. I hope y’all like it.

Also, I opted to split the Mesozoic into the following categories:
Triassic
Jurassic
Early Cretaceous
Late Cretaceous (this one is already filled to the brim; I’m not even sure all the animals in the game will fit it nicely)

*Ideally, the repeated animals should be removed, staying in just one spot.
* Add what niche your suggestion is filling in the chart.

FILL THE CHART - "FINAL" Cenozoic edition.

Update to the "fill the chart"

With this, our Cenozoc chart is finished to the best of our abilities.

* If you have any suggestions for the gaps, please let us know

----
Comments about the chart as a whole and the sequel:

It has been fun, and some people said they would like a sequel, so I will do it. I will be posting the format for the sequel before starting to fill the niches, so we can agree on what will be a good representation of the Mesozoic.

There's still time to suggest changes for the sequel.

----
About this one, finally Postschizotherium was added, what a weird little guy.
The biggest competition here was the one for medium herbivore, as always, unfortunately, I had to ditch Bootherium bombifrons for the Proboscidipparion, but I would one hundred percent love to have both in the game.

Sorry for the long wait, let’s cut to the chase!

This one was extremely diverse, but considering the animals we already had, it wasn’t that hard, the herbivores were a little more difficult, but still, I think yo’all have managed to give me great options with great coverage.

So, this could be the final post of this series, so now is the time to talk about the future, do you want a sequel after we finish the Cenozoic? Should I split the Mesozoic into tree? Would you change something in the niches? Anything else?

FILL THE CHART - Cenozoic COSTAL edition.

=========

This was a hard one, there were many tough choices...
For big carnivores, there were 4 valid choices!
- Ammitocyon
- Amphicyon
- Arctodus
- Arctotherium
I went with Ammitocyon because I think it's the one that brings more diversity to the roster

For "small" herbivores, I had:
-Postschizotherium
- Gastornis
- moa
I went with Moa because it goes well with the Haast's eagle, and I think it wouldn't be too hard to have like 3 different species varying in size, so even more diversity.

For semi-aquatic, I had Desmostylus and Pontolis Magnus, I really hope we get diving mechanics, so I went for the pinniped

And Small canivore I had:
-Vishnuictis
-Cave hyena
-Ekorus ekakeran
I think Ekorus ekakeran is too similar to other animals in the list, and the cave hyena still has a chance in the next two biomes, especially boreal, so Vishnuictis won by elimination.

We are approaching the end, so I'm already asking, do you want a sequel after we finish the Cenozoic? Should I split the Mesozoic in tree? Would you change something in the niches?

I'm sorry for the delay, this week has been busy, anyway let's keep going!
This one was the easiest so far, not that many cool animals were left behind, but it was very hard deciding the medium herbivore, it was between: Moertherium, Auroch, and Uintatherium. I thought the game would be incomplete without Auroch, so that's why it won.

So, I made this "fill the chat thingy", I think it would be nice to fill it as a community, if y'all like it I can make one for the Paleozoic, and one for the Mesozoic as well when we finish this one.

- Try to avoid repeating, but if you feel like this animal really fills these two spots nicely, it's ok.

- If you think something I already put in the chart is wrong, feel free to correct me.

- If you think it can be more clear visually, let me know.

- I think it will not be very productive to separate the animal by continent as well, because many of them would be very similar, but if you think differently let me, I may change things.

- please add a picture of the suggested animals

- Most voted for each category will be added to the list.

I love the new update!

I love this game so much, and this last update was peak, I love building ecosystems more than zoos, so combat was very Important for me, and it delivered.

It's not perfect, but it's the best thing in this area I've ever seen, every combat is imprevisible, the place where it happens matters, you can root for them, I think it gives the animals, especially the predators such personality, like I had an acro who would only hunt babies, so I renamed her pathetic, and she has almost 100 percent stick to it. The other acros hunt much more diversely than her. There is another who's just in it for the carnage, a menace, and she's melanistic, like, come on, it's really cool, they look so alive in this game thanks to all the things the devs have added, it's just amazing.

I have a couple of suggestions that I want to post later, but this post is just an appreciation post. Nothing more.

u/Chill-Oxalaia — 1 month ago

Do y'all like this specific building tools?

I play prehistoric kingdom too, and although it was my first time ever using a building system like that I had fun, and took pride in my creations, they were simple, but I liked it a lot, and to see the people and the animals walking in it and interaction with some objects was amazing.

Today I tried the JWE3 building system for the first time, I played the campaign without touching it. Just using the workshop. Man... I don't know if it's just the learning curve but I thought it was so stiff, maybe I'm just stupid but it seems like some pieces can only spin in one axis, they cannot be made bigger or smaller, and the grid doesn't work for every piece either... It was uncomfortable...

And also kind of shallow since the animals and the people can barely interact with it.

I am having some fun with the game, and the workshop is really nice, but I kind of think I'll not be using this system to its full potential because it's not fun for me...

I wanted to know your thoughts.
