Whishlist Wednesday, even more DLC ideas i think could be cool

Perhaps some clarification on the picks for lunar lair is needed. I’ve interpreted Jonkeria, which is often thought to spend a lot of time in water, as leading a hippo like nocturnal lifestyle where in the day it rests in water to protect its sensitive skin from the sun and at night comes out to eat.
While Megaraptor and Maip aren’t inherently thought to be nocturnal, it is plausible and honestly just pretty cool.
See u next week with more (probably). Also rip bluebuck, the friend we seem to have lost on the way.
Edit: Ive made a scaling mistake in Bonebed Basins; some of the dinos need to be bigger. Will upload a corrected version next week.

prehistoric kingdom or JWE3?

i am curious which you think is better? i know this is the prehistoric kingdom subreddit, but i am kinda leaning towards to buying prehistoric kingdom. what do you like about the game even if its early access, if you’ve switched from JWE3 or straight into PK? is it still good to play the game in early access or to wait till the full release next year?

Still frame rate issues?

Hey y'all, been really looking into this game and I was reading some posts that there have been some rough frame rate issues even on a strong PC in the past, is that still an issue? Ive currently got a GTX 1060 and don't want to waste money if the frames are super bad or I have to have the game on potato graphics lol

Edit for PC specs: i7 8700, 16 gb ram, Nvidia GTX 1060 (3gb)

Lmk if any other details would be helpful!

Do you think a "Dinosaur Marketplace" would fit well in PK?

I was playing a bit of JWE3 and have been working on a park for "rescues" which only works because of the Dinosaur marketplace they have in game. In that game, it supposed to function as a black market as well as legit sales.

I thought that with a few changes something like this could work extremely well for PK. Do you think that this would make sense in Prehistoric Kingdom? What changes would you make to have it work in this game?

Prehistoric Park - Allosaurus Cove

Happy to share the Allosaurus E. enclosure I have just about finished! Was really inspired by the dinopedia entry for this one so gave them their own beach and pool to swim in. In my mind it fills the role of a sea lion enclosure (albeit far more terrestrial).

I am calling out for ideas though - in the last photo you see a very blank viewing area (slightly raised on the right hand side of the enclosure). How do you recommend I decorate this area?

Which one would you like to come first

Carnotaurus and ceratosaurus are both such good animals and additions to the game and I would love to see them in game. One could flesh out the jurassic roster even more and the other is the most popular abelisaurid which I hope we get more of like majungasaurus. There could be maybe another specie for carno with giant horns and maybe ceratosaurus could have the same for its horn like structure may
For the colors I see them having pretty simillar pallets a mix of browns yellows but cerato could have a lot of vibrant colors on the horn and face
ceratosaurus liked biomes ofc would be desert grassland scrubland and costal while for carno I can see grassland desert costal and maybe wetland. Its

Its like choosing a favorite child

DLC Ideas (Improved)

Last time I posted DLC concepts, I was executed for making some grammar mistakes (I am not saying calling me out is a bad thing; I just wanted to be funnie). Anyway, I wanted to give a few more ideas, as well as some improved ones. I triple-checked to ensure I didn't make a mistake; at least I hope I didn't.

What are your takes on these DLC ideas, and what would you put in them

New to the game and reddit - DLC question

Hello, I'm new to the game and to the community.

Bought the game for the love of all prehistoric animals.

Will there be a DLC? If so, when and what are the inclusions?

DLC Concept Packs Part Four: Mini and Vivarium Packs + Full DLC Roster

I have made a number of hypothetical DLCs based on time period, geological formations and other themes, and wanted to share them here. These are completely fan-made, though it would be really cool if the devs decided they liked any of these. Today is the final installment, Part Four: Mini and Vivarium Packs.

I've also included the full roster of all 4 parts at the end. I hope you enjoyed this series and encourage you to make your own! Thanks to everyone who helped shape these by adding species suggestions and input on the Discord!

Some rules and disclosures:

  • Utahraptor, Ceratosaurus, Carnotaurus, Glyptodon, Doedicurus, Amphicyon, Kelenken, Deinosuchus, Ambulocetus, Meganeura, Arthropleura, and Lepdictidium are all assumed species to be added before or after 1.0
  • Every DLC pack must follow a specific ruleset and pattern based on the Community Survey and expected Recently Extinct Species Pack
    • Standard: 6 new genera or species +1 alt genus or species, 2 vivarium species
    • Mini Pack: 4 new genera or species (though occasionally there may be shared where it makes sense thematically), 1 vivarium species
    • Vivarium Pack: 5 new vivarium species
  • A lot of these themes and selections are interchangeable, so while I might have something in a Late Cretaceous Pack, the devs might decide to put in a Hell Creek Pack etc.

Please let me know your thoughts - what you like and what you think could be improved! I wanted to do this to show off what I think the optimal DLC formats are in terms of content received - hopefully the devs see there is high demand beyond just 4-5 new species per pack.

  1. Paleozoic and Mesozoic Epochs
  2. Cenozoic Epochs
  3. Themed Standard Packs
  4. Mini and Vivarium Packs

Simosuchus enclosure

Taken a few days off developing the park - returned to put some finishing touches on the Simosuchus pond!

Was a really fun exhibit to build - although I probably should have checked the size of Simosuchus first as they seem even smaller in such a large space. The guest bridge is also a touch too far away making them a little hard to spot.

Really inspired me to build some more vivarium exhibits though - will one day build up the courage to take on the king of vivarium creatures: Titanaboa!

Guest fell into enclosure

Hi everyone. I just built a very big habitat with walkways over it. Due to pathing issues i had to move some of the walkway pieces so guests could get across but when I moved the pieces, the guests fell down into the enclosure. Is there any way to get them out? You can’t pick up guests like you can with staff members so idk how to get them out.

Spinosauridae pack

If the devs started making dinosaur family packs this is what I would chose for the spinosauridea
Vallibonavenatrix
Ichtyovenator
Ostafrikasaurus
Suchomimus
spinosaurus mirabilis

Thematic headcanon: Deinosuchus = Jiao, Titanoboa = Chinese Dragon (Chinese Mythology crossover)

While building my prehistoric park in Prehistoric Kingdom and jwe3, I came up with a fun thematic idea inspired by ancient Chinese folklore.

I treat Deinosuchus as the Jiao. In Chinese myth, a Jiao is a massive crocodile-like aquatic beast living in rivers and coasts. It is a precursor entity that has not achieved ascension to become a true dragon. Its habit of lingering along shorelines fits Deinosuchus really well.

Meanwhile, Titanoboa embodies the classic Chinese water dragon. These giant serpents hide in deep waters, which aligns with the old tales of great dragons resting in remote, dark lakes.

Will it ever be possible to add Pterosaurs to the game?

I absolutely love Pterosaurs like Pteranodon, Quetzalcoatlus, Hatzegopteryx, …
and I‘d love them in my parks. Just imagine a group of Pteranodon sitting on a cliff, or having a Quatzalcoatlus wading through swampy grassland, …

I dont know much about video game development, and I assume that implementing large flying animals would probably a huge effort to program, so my hopes for this are relatively low.

Has any of the devs ever commented on this? Is there any information that I‘ve missed?

I‘d also be happy with a compromise, in which the Pterosaurs are restricted to walking and maybe some short flying/lunging animations, but dont have the ability to actually fly around. Yea, would be kinda weird, but better than nothing, I‘d take it.

What do you think?

The sub really needs an FAQs section

The posts over whether we'll see flying or aquatic species and the like are near constant, all despite the devs saying their addition will only occur if the game does well post launch. I get that not everyone is on the Discord, so they might not know straight off the bat, but every other post on here seems to relate to that. It's getting a little annoying tbh.

I dunno. Something for the mods to consider, but I think an FAQs section would be beneficial to the sub overall.

Am I being a genuine fool or is the game messing with me

Trying to create just a huge sphere out of hexagonal glass. Ive put 2 pieces about 20 in-game metres away from one another and am trying to just duplicate them around the axis to try and make them into just a basic ring.

But the axis keeps on changing locations? Lowering, i think? And obviously as a result the pieces arent following the same ring and are separating.

Sorry for the long winded explanation, any help would be amazing i want to love this game but this is really finicky. Thanks in advance!

FILL THE CHART - Triassic ALPINE edition.

So the idea is to fill this chart with the animals we would like to see in the game in each niche and biome.

RULES:

* Add what niche your suggestion is filling in the chart.

* It's ok to mention animals that we know are coming.

* If you think something I already put in the chart is wrong, feel free to correct me.

* Let's tackle one biome at a time, now it's the ALPINE.

* I will take the upvotes and how many times an animal was suggested into consideration whenever there is more than one option for the same niche

* Don't forget to upvote the comments with the animals you want to see in the game

* If you have any suggestions for the previous gaps, please let us know
_____
Comments:
Lessemsaurus made it! (It was pre-suggested, and people said it should fit in coniferous forests) Nothing else matters!

No, seriously now, it's one of the most unique selections of aquatics so far. It would be the first biome I would make if we suddenly got all of those animals, I would just add a Lisowicia to it for good measure.

The format itself

I split shores and open oceans as it was requested by one of you. I hope there are enough animals to fill it. But the niches will not really make sense when we get there, so, there are two ways to do it,

  1. We could ignore the niches and just go for it.
  2. I can create a separate chart just for those two biomes with niches that make sense when we're talking about them. I will think about those biomes and post them in the comments so we can discuss them before I do it, and see if you all think I should do it, so stay tuned haha.

Whatever we do here about the aquatic biomes will probably be repeated in the next charts
----
Honored Mentions:
Dolabrosaurus (Hypuronector can glide!)
Machaeroprosus (Rutiodon won just because I liked the picture better; they are almost identical)
Tawa (I honestly like it, but it's very similar to others we already have)
