First Try on the New Slinger!

Yesterday I picked up my first FDM printer; a Bambulabs A1, and a 0.02mm nozzle. Tried out a few "normal" prints to start off (benchy, container to catch the offcuts) then dove in to trying some minis.

I first tried printing off some BFG ships using regular settings, but wasnt too happy with how the tree supports were working; seems like they were generating too close to the files and getting stuck.

Id obviously read on here about all the different settings profiles that have been come up with, and decided to try out the Resin To FDM workflow. Set this guy to go, went to bed and woke up to this!

For a first print, I'm STOKED. This quality is amazing! After a coat of primer (first pic, green spray) you can barely tell this is printed!

The settings I used:

Bambulabs A1, 0.02 nozzle

BambuStudio, FDG profile (mini layer height 0.06, support layer height 0.12)

Resin-To-FDM, thickened supports to 0.175

Has anyone had any luck printing multiple presupported files at once on a single plate? Is it worth trying vs one at a time? Also how thin can you realistically go with the supports in resintofdm?

Huge thanks to Pentekont on here for answering my billion questions last night!

Soul Forge Still Around? Hoping To Try on an FDM Printer

Does anyone know if these files are still available / if anyone has them kicking around? A few years ago I had a bunch of them to print off a fleet using a resin printer, however had to get rid of it due to the fumes.

I've just got my hands on a Bambulab A1, and am hoping to try printing off some ships but can't seem to find the files? I've got a new PC since then and I guess forgot to back up all my 3d printing stuff. If anyone could point me in the direction of those files, that'd be hugely appreciated. I've seen on the purple site some full body cruisers/frigates, however I liked the modular options of his files. I would assume being able to print in segments would be better anyway?

Also, if anyone has any advice for printing these kinds of things on an FDM printer, that'd be super appreciated!

Hi friends; looking for advice!

Ahoy, just joined this sub after a lot of internet trawling. I have a bit of experience with resin miniature printing, however due to living in a pretty small apartment have since gotten rid of it as the fumes got a bit too much. I've recently been trying to see what's possible with miniature printing through FDM and stumbled across you guys.

I was looking at the Bambulab P1s, P2s, and the A1/A1mini and can't really decide what the best plan of attack is. I keep seeing reference to getting the 0.2mm nozzle, and from the pictures I've seen that looks like the go-to option; however I'm somewhat struggling to see the real differences between those printers?

I guess at the end of the day my real question is: How much tinkering/testing/modification did it take with these printers to get decent quality miniatures? Is it really just a plug-and-play change, fix up 3 settings and it's good to go? A lot of the advice I'm finding online is from around a year / two years ago, so I'm sure things have changed since then?

Additionally, what kind of steps are taken to dull-down/mask the layer lines after printing/before painting?

I'm hoping to get into Trench Crusade with a few of my buddies, and get back into Battlefleet Gothic eventually; but really don't want to set up another resin printer. Any advice would be great!
