My recommended Apple EQ settings to make Airpods Pro 3 more neutral

Background:
My audio preference is Neutral. My favorite IEM is CrinEar Reference. My favorite headphone is Hifiman Arya Unveiled with some EQ.

I could not bear listening to music on my Airpods Pro 3. The treble hurt my ears. I only used it for podcast and online business meetings. The noise canceling is pure magic. The battery life and ease of use is top-notch.

Now with iOS 27 EQ, APP3 music becomes much more bearable to me. With spatial audio, it's even enjoyable because you get the soundstage similar to the best soundstage offered by great headphones such as HD800s.

Please refer to my pictures.

Pic #2: What my EQ adjustment would theoretically achieve. Note: This is only done by calculation, I determined my EQ primarily by doing actual A-B tests.

Are there no free EQ software on MacOS?

Like title says, I just want a simple parametric EQ tool to enjoy my music.

On Windows I use Equalizer APO. It works great and is free.

On my Macbook, I tried EqMac, but it requires 40$ per license or 30$ per 1-year-subscription, in order to do EQ with filter type and Q factor.

This seems ridiculous to me.

Do people with Macbook actually pay 40$ to use EQ? Or are there any free alternatives just like
Equalizer APO on Windows?

Bedroom rig for Arya Unveiled — can a budget desktop amp get me to 90% of my Serenade setup?

My desk setup is Arya Unveiled + HiFiMan Serenade, and I'm very happy with it.

The problem is I often want to listen in bed, and dragging the Serenade to the bedroom isn't practical. I have a FiiO KA15 dongle, but when I run the Arya Unveiled off it, the sound feels dry and thin— density is lacking and there's a distinct "digital" quality to it.

Any suggestions? For example, is there a small desktop amp/DAC in the few-hundred-dollar range I could park on the nightstand that would drive the Arya Unveiled to within 90% of what the Serenade delivers?

Budget ideally under ~$300.

Thanks!

Are there any headphones that sound like Crinear Reference?

I have been loving the Reference IEM.

I was wondering if there are any headphones that are similarly “flat”/“neutral”?

I currently use a Sennheiser hd550 with EQ cutting down 3 db of 9k and 13k hz.

Bonus points for sound stage, details and comfort.

AI created this EQ to fix my Sennheiser HD550. Does it look ok?

Preamp: 0 dB

Filter 1: ON PK Fc 6000 Hz Gain -3.0 dB Q 1.4

Filter 2: ON PK Fc 8500 Hz Gain -3.5 dB Q 1.8

Filter 3: ON PK Fc 10000 Hz Gain -1.5 dB Q 2.0

I just bought a pair of HD550. I liked the sound over all, but was bothered by the harsh treble and sibilance.

I asked Claude AI and it gave me above EQ settings to put into Equalizer APO. It sounded better afterwards.

I don’t have much experience with EQ, so just wanna make sure I’m doing the right thing?

Or should I return the HD550 and get something else?

My preference: Comfortable. Neutral sound (similar to my IEM Crinear Reference). Large sound stage and good details for my budget.

Is HD550 plus EQ the best I can get at this price point?
