My two bins sit out near the front for convenience and I'm looking for ways to screen them, coz that's the public side of the property.
I thought a bit of framing, trellis and some fast-growing greenery would work but maybe you all have some creative solutions?

Hey, does anyone know how to program a heated towel rail timer? It's a simple on/off wall switch, and I think the brand is Alexander.
Assuming it's one of those 4 on/ 8 off jobs on a 12 hour cycle. I've tried switching it off then on at go-time, but nah. 🤔

The title pretty much says it all really. I'm asking about installing one of those ratchet-type hose reel affairs, and one does get inclined to haul on them a bit aggressively at times, and they're heavy with a hose full of water, so I'm thinking it's not a wise idea.
What alternatives though? A short post into the ground?🤔 Leaving the hose lying on the lawn like a real man? 😎

I have one of these which has fallen off the wall.
There's a little screw hiding in the wall bracket which I figure screws into that fat sleeve, but I don't know how to get that screw out to do that.
I assume the bracket comes off the wall giving access to that screw from the back, but the bracket doesn't seem to want to... Am I missing something, or does it just need a bit of welly?

Hey all, I'm planning some raised garden beds, using 200 by 50 timber, 2 pieces each side, so beds will be 400 high.
Two questions: is that a convenient working height for gardening in your experience, or should I go to 600? (I might put a seat on one side).
How should I deal with bracing the corners? Waratahs? 50mm posts? Or not bother? (I'm thinking if I'm going to go high on the sides they will need some bracing).

We just popped up a new fence of rough sawn timber and we're thinking about painting it... actually staining it with Forestwood.
Is it better to do it straight off the bat, or wait for a bit of weathering?

Etc etc .. I'll be connecting it via Ethernet coz it's available.

It's been a while since I bought a Grifins macaroons, (diet) but I've loved them since I was a kid: that unctuous sticky coconut mess slathered in beautiful chocolate. Lovely and thick - a decent satisfying biscuit, no question.
Well, bought a packet last week, and they're these mean little things - dryish filling, the chocolate is still there but the size! They're like fucking petit-fours! Thin, probably half the volume and really just a bit shit. I was genuinely shocked, and borderline disturbed.
Yes, yes, I get it's shrinkflation but if Griffins think this is a successful business strategy they're wrong. I'm never going near their stuff again. Fuck them and the tiny biscuit they rode in on.
Hi all, we'll be building a deck, about 4 by 6 metres, and about 300mm off the ground.
Would it be a good idea to include a way to access underneath it for storage? I'm thinking bits of lumber etc.
Or, with that minimal height, am I dreaming?

I'm looking for something to seal the inside of my ground-treated timber planter boxes to stop the chemicals leaching into the soil...I don't want to eat what I grow and find I've sprouted a third arm or something. 😝
I've seen various methods: polythene, bitumen paint, Resene Lumbersider... I was wondering if anyone had any experience with any of these methods.
