What cosmetic changes (other than paint)?

I’d love to give this bathroom a new look but can’t do anything that requires a significant budget (more than, say, -$300) right now.

Other than paint (including on the wood access panel), what should I do? Specific recommendations appreciated, rather than “change the cabinet hardware.”

I really hate the builder-grade white tiles in the shower and around the tub.

What would you do with this living room?

I'm starting to go through a divorce and am coping by planning how I'm going to completely redecorate when he moves out next month.

(Please note that I'm not looking for comments on its current design. I know the rug is too small; I know the TV is too high; I know the picture on the half wall is too small; I know...)

If you could redecorate/arrange this living room any way you wanted, what would you do? It's (almost) a blank slate. I don't want to tell you what I like; I want to know what you would do.

A few notes:

  • All furniture can go with the exception of the piano. Ideally, it would stay where it is because it's hard to move, but it doesn't have to.
  • This white/blue/gray color palette was chosen when we moved in 10 years ago. I'm over it and will be repainting. The only thing to consider when suggesting colors is that the room flows into the kitchen, which has white cabinets, a white backsplash and dark gray counters (which I will not be changing). Behind that, which you can see a glimpse of, is the dining room with teal/peacock green walls, white trim, and a white table (though I'll probably be getting rid of that.)
  • The bay windows are great for letting in light, which there's not enough of in this room. BUT...the sun streams in when setting and really heats up the room, so some form of curtain/shutter is necessary.

My floor plan numbers are probably slightly off because numbers aren't my thing, but close enough.

I'll put a couple more pics and the floor plan in the comments (my numbers on the floor plan are probably off because numbers aren't my thing, but it's good enough.)
