It looks so plain for me so I want some modern touch before plaster that I can suggest to the contractor

I’ve been working on my living room for a while and overall I like parts of it, but I can’t shake the feeling that something still feels a little “off”.
I’d really appreciate some outside opinions because I know people here usually notice things I completely miss. Feel free to be honest
We are buying this house and while I was present during the inspection I noticed the mortar on the fireplace is two different colors. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do about that? And also the amount of wood paneling. I heard it's coming back but this is a den/family room and it makes it SO dark. The home was built in 1964 so I don't want to ruin character, but I do still plan on living here!
Would love suggestions on making my living room feel more cozy and cohesive. I have lots of green and can’t decide if I like either of these terracotta curtains or if I should go with a different color. I’m thinking I could add something to the far wall and maybe something colorful to the coffee table?
Edit: By popular demand I have lowered the artwork.
I finally finished decorating my living room, and I’m so happy with it!
I’ve been slowly putting this space together, and the TV wall was the part I kept going back and forth on. I didn’t want it to feel too empty, and I also didn’t want it to turn into a giant electronics corner.
Right now, I feel it is much more balanced. The wood media console is textured and a bit classic. The speakers and audio stuff also didn’t take over the whole room. I don’t like it to feel too crowded. I was worried those would all feel like separate things, but actually it feels like they belong together.
I feel like I’ve been staying in way more since setting it up. I keep inviting friends over to watch movies or just hang out because the room feels cozy now.
But I still want some advice. Would you change anything here? Maybe wall art, speaker placement, lighting, or is it better to leave it simple?
This is right off of the kitchen which already has ample space for dishes and food storage. Its too far away from the living room/ too close to the kitchen for a bookshelf. Don’t need that much space for laundry stuff, especially with the shelf above the w/d.
I can only upload one photo but basically there are 3 open shelves and 2 drawers. We're using the bottom shelf for toilet paper and the drawers for toiletries. We want the top 2 open shelves to look tidy as well as being practical. I was thinking of a couple of small woven basket type things to put spare soaps etc but any advice appreciated of how we could use these shelves in an aesthetic as well as practical way
I’m almost finished with the polish for this 30”x65” custom fab titanium granite slab. That I originally Intended to go on a rolling kitchen island base that I already made but this slab just completely overpowers it now so trying to get idea of what style would complement the geometry of the slab well and hav bold enough features to not just get complete overpowered by it or if keeping the the island cabinet base simple and subtle would be the best way to go so it more just functionally showcases it and doesn’t compete with it? Idk man I’m not when it gets to this kind of level I don’t know where to start that’s not going to end up going backwards
Hi everyone! I’m new to this sub and am seeking help, so hopefully I’m in the right place! I have two large walls in my living room. I have no idea what to do with them. I can add photos of my new baby or my pets, put up shelves, paint, or do really anything with them. I need help! There’s just too many possibilities. Here is a photo of one wall but I am not sure how to add more photos.
Would like it to be flat, any suggestions besides ripping it out. ? Thanks
Found this elegant classic-style interior design and honestly it looks super relaxing and luxurious at the same time.
The soft colors, chandelier lighting, and royal-style furniture make it feel like a modern palace.
What do you guys think about this type of interior?
Would you prefer this style or something more modern/minimal?
If anyone is interested in this kind of luxury interior inspiration/design idea, feel free to message me.
I would love to add a bit or colour, a rug and a coffee table
I need help making ingredients thus less cluttered and overall cleaner
I can't move the dresser
I want the cat stuff by the window
Do you think this lamp works well for my dining area, or should I go in a different direction.
Looking for paint color recommendations for a bedroom. TLDR: I like vintage inspired colors and have lots of eclectic things I like to hang on the wall and want a color that is a good backdrop for that.
I like to hang a lot of different stuff on my wall and have a collection of vintage sheets and linens that I like to mix and match. They’re generally florals or nature themed from the 60s-80s. I lean towards orange, yellow, pinks and greens for decorating colors. As you can see I have a mint green guitar I like to hang for decoration (when not used). My acoustic guitar I’m holding hangs on the wall as well.
My current walls are a kind of white with a hint of blush (Benjamin Moore pink damask) because I kind of wanted a blank slate with just a hint of dimension, I also wanted to keep it light because the room is very small- lately its been giving baby girls room to me tho.
I’m going to be moving into a new place soon and will have a bigger room and perhaps I can experiment with colors a bit more there. I’ve toyed with maybe olive green shade, a vintage green or orange for the walls. I don’t know what kind of shade I should do when it comes to that though. Please help!
I received a gift of 600$ to spend on an item for my interior.
I want it to last for decades.
With this budget, furniture is obviously out-of-scope, so I am looking for small high-end items that you would buy. Think of cutlery, glasses, wine attributes to name a few.
What would you LOVE to buy in this price range?
