Looking for corridor / hallway ideas & resources for our condo

We’re in the process of planning our condo lobby and lobby renovation. The building itself is gorgeous, Spanish / Mediterranean inspired with beautiful tile accents - huge windows / terraces - built in 1977. The lobbies and corridors are reminiscent of assisted living / nursing homes and we’re looking for an update to reference the original architecture while creating a timeless design that can last a while. We looked into polished concrete for the hallways, although it’s mainly because it’s likely the cheapest and most unobtrusive solution, but that comes with its own hurdles. One plus is the floor would be ready for the next step later on down the road - whatever that may be. We’re located in South Florida, so moisture / mold is a concern - one of the main reasons we want to steer away from carpet. I’m looking for references, books, etc specifically about multi family common spaces / corridors to keep on hand while we work through the planning process. Also open to any ideas from the community here :) thank you!

Epoxy in shared garage in condo

Hello! We recently had epoxy flooring installed some common areas in our condo garage, after the committee for aesthetics chose general direction - light with some darker brown to reference the terracotta throughout the building, somebody ended up changing the general idea of what we agreed on. I’m curious what your thoughts are on the new flooring vs the sample we were leaning towards. Personally I think it’s way too brown and looks kind of tired / old already, but want to see what y’all think! First image is the deck of samples, and the 2nd is the actual install.

Second, is this something that can be gone over again with a new flake color to try and remedy the situation?

Beocenter 7000 troubleshooting

Hi everyone - I picked up a beocenter 7000 on marketplace a month or two ago, when I first set it up the tone arm did return to its original place but that now has stopped, I set up the speakers that came with it and no sound was coming from the tape, radio or phono, I also plugged in headphones with the same no output issue.

The phono doesn’t seem to work, it spins when I hold the “turn” button albeit very slowly, all the lights work and the display works.

• Pressing PHONO displays 00:00 and the counter begins counting occasionally.

• Pressing TURN or PHONO causes a click when pressed and another click when released.

• If I hold TURN, the platter rotates.

• If I release TURN, the platter stops.

• The platter previously appeared to move a few degrees when commanded to start but that’s stopped now.

• The tonearm carriage did move previously but no longer.

• No obvious signs of damage.

• The cartridge is installed and the stylus is present.

• Radio/tuner functionality is not working via headphones or speakers.

A few questions for those familiar with these systems:

  1. Does this sound like a common BeoCenter 7000 / tangential tracking mechanism issue?

  2. Is there a sensor, belt, or lubrication issue that would allow the platter to run only while TURN is held?

  3. Would a failure in the automatic sequence prevent the tonearm from lowering even though the cartridge and arm appear intact?

  4. Any service manual sections or troubleshooting procedures I should follow before taking it to a repair shop?

  5. Did I buy a brick? 😭

Thanks in advance. Excited to get this system fully working!
