Thoughts on milky cleansers for combination skin?
Recently came to the realisation that my skin's barrier is damaged and dehydrated as well. For the record, I have dealt with combination skin for most of my life (oily t-zone, normal to a little bit dry on the cheeks + chin area). Currently, I'm using the Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Moisture Cleansing Oil on days when I shower (3-4 times a week max) and the Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cleanser (I use this as part of my 2nd step for double cleansing and also as a cleanser on its own on days when I don't double cleanse).
I'm thinking of switching to using a milky cleanser to help with the dehydration + damaged barrier but I'm wondering how well it works for combination skin types. Most of the milk cleansers I've seen is advertised for dry to normal skin but I have seen a few people with combination skin here and there saying it works well for them although I have read a few say that it did leave them with a weird film residue afterwards so that is why I'm hesitant on purchasing a milk cleanser.
Right now, I have my eyes on the Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser but I've also heard some good stuff about the Jumiso D-Panthenol Barrier Soothing Cleansing Milk, Stratia Velvet Cleansing Milk, Dewytree Hi Amino All Cleansing Milk, and make p:rem Safe Me. Relief Moisture Cleansing Milk.
About milk cleansers in general, I am a bit confused on how it's used. I have seen people use it on dry skin while other times, I've seen people use it on wet skin. Also I'm wondering if milky cleansers can be used on its own?
Just to note, if I do change my cleansing routine to include a milk cleanser (and ditching the Round Lab Dokdo cleanser), I still plan on keeping the Haru Haru oil cleanser as part of my routine 3-4 times a week.
I would greatly appreciate some advice!
