Rainy Day Hair
Hey everyone.
I have a question. What hairstyles are you wearing if it is raining or going to be humid? I had a wonderful twist-out the other day. When I got off work, it was pouring down rain. By the time I got home, I didn't want to look myself in the mirror. Having high porosity hair, I knew it had shriveled up to a brown cotton ball on my head. I just went straight to the sink and washed my hair. To further complicate things, it's supposed to rain off and on all week. I did a blow out and very quickly put four cornrows in before the humidity had time to set in. I thought about putting two-strand twists in and wearing headwraps the rest of the week, but sometimes, I just want my hair and scalp to breathe.
For context, I have a chin length bob that I almost exclusively wear in twist-outs. Every now and then, I'll do some feed-in box braids if I'm going to have a busy work week. I have found this hair cut is best for me to give the illusion that I have a head full of hair (I have systemic lupus). I am able to disguise the shortness in the back when it is in cornrows by putting a couple of clip-ins in and creating a messy type of ponytail.
I thought about learning to do a wash-n-go but I'm not sure how it will hold up in high humidity. In addition, how do I sleep on it and refresh it. Any and all recommendations are welcome.
