Anyone else experiencing a rise in fear mongering tiktoks on their fyp?
Idk how to explain this really, but I've been experiencing a sharp increase in odd, kind of word-salady tiktoks that seem to be focused primarily on mothers and "raising awareness" about nefarious men who, in the stories, don't actually do anything except lurk in groups of 2 to 5? Sometimes there will be a woman who is helping the man/men. The implication is that there's human trafficking going on.
Key aspects to these stories I've noticed include a) relying on a feeling or intuition or instincts b) nothing actually happening c) this is why I carry comments or even "this is why I don't go out without my husband".
I've always been a big fan of women sharing stories and encouraging listening to instincts and the gift of fear. But something about these videos just doesn't sit right. I even wonder if some are AI, or if it's a (get on those tinfoil hats) psy-op of some kind targeting women and focused on increasing their fear?
Has anyone else experienced this? Am I a little loony for thinking this way? (Edited to change female to woman)
