How was your experience finding a job as a fresh ma?

I recently graduated from my MA program and am working towards getting certified. But I keep running into the same problem, which is finding a job. I’ve applied to so many positions in the past month but still haven’t been hired. I’m starting to think it might have something to do with either my resume or my lack of experience since I’m a new grad. How did you guys find your first MA job, and how long did it take?

How did you study for the NHA?

Hey guys! I’m about to finish my 11-week Medical Assistant course and I’m getting ready to start studying for the NHA CCMA exam. But my instructor told us that while our course covered most of the material that’s on the exam, it didn’t cover everything. So I was wondering how you all studied for it. Are there any resources you’d recommend, like Quizlet sets, Anki decks, practice tests, youtube channels, or study guides? Also If you made your own Quizlets, Anki cards, or any other study materials, I’d really appreciate it if you could share them. Thankss!!

Scared to ask friend to join his lab.. 😔

Soooo, basically I have a friend who works as a neuroscience research coordinator at this hospital. Me and him used to work at Starbucks together and often did solo closes with just the two of us, so we got really close and still continue to chat after we both quit.

Here’s the problem: I’m an incoming sophomore who snagged herself an MA job, shadowing, and, thanks to this friend, a reference so I can start volunteering at a hospital. The only thing I need besides my MCAT and leadership is research. I’m planning on taking a workshop at my local cc over winter break that’ll teach me the basic of working in research, but I’m scared to ask him if I can help out in his lab or if he can find me a lab in the hospital that’s willing to accept students.

I personally don’t like asking friends for favors. It just makes things weird. PLUSSS, I just asked him for a reference, and he was so nice about it and responded quickly. I don’t want to make him feel like I’m using him.

Should I just leave it at the reference, or thug it out and ask?
