Hit and Run on Washtenaw

Did anyone else see that Ford Bronco on Washtenaw and Carpenter (by Palm Palace) hit that guy at the crosswalk?

It was around 1:20pm 5-15-2026 (Today). I didn’t get the Broncos plates but curious if anyone else did or saw.

This is not the first time someone has been hit or almost hit on that stretch of Washtenaw. Something really needs to be done.

*UPDATE* 5-15-2026 5:22PM
So apparently from other reports the person that was hit was an “instigator” in some way. Not entirely sure all the details but regardless if that guy was in the wrong that’s fine. I still think the Bronco should have stopped or something or reported it. Messy situation overall

Title: 2012 Ford Escape V6 AWD refresh is DONE — here’s everything I threw at it

Alright r/FordEscape, she’s finished. 87,000 miles on the clock and this thing feels brand new. Here’s everything I did top to bottom.

The Problem
Bought it with P2196 and P2198 codes throwing fits, SYNC/Bluetooth completely cooked, suspension that had clearly never been touched, and tires that had no business being on any vehicle. It was solid underneath but needed serious attention across the board.

The Full Build List
Mechanical & Reliability
• Both upstream O2 sensors replaced — P2196 and P2198 gone, not coming back
• APIM swapped via salvage yard unit — SYNC and Bluetooth fully restored
• PTU and rear differential fluid flushed with Motorcraft XL-3
• All 6 cylinders done with Denso Iridium spark plugs
Suspension
• Monroe Quick-Struts front (complete assemblies — clean install)
• Monroe OESpectrum shocks rear
• 1.5” RockTrix leveling kit up front
Wheels, Tires & TPMS
• 2007 Ford Explorer wheels — 5x114.3 bolt pattern, direct bolt-on
• Painted matte black with Rust-Oleum, finished with satin clear coat
• Michelin Defender tires mounted up
• New TPMS sensors installed to match
• Future upgrade already planned: 245/70R17 Michelin Defender LTX
Rust Protection
• Fluid Film applied — this Michigan winter isn’t touching it

Additional Cosmetic Upgrades:
- New side view mirrors that are heated
- Chrome Delete
- Rain guards

**Still need to black out the roof rack chrome**

How It Drives Now
Night and day. The suspension refresh alone was worth every penny — it’s tight, quiet, and actually planted. The leveling kit balanced the stance perfectly without looking slammed or stupid. The Explorer wheels in matte black genuinely look like they were meant to be on this truck.
Codes are clear, Bluetooth works, spark plugs are fresh, diffs are serviced. Every system sorted.

This was a full mechanical and cosmetic refresh on a daily driver and I couldn’t be happier with how it came out. 87k miles and it’s better than it’s probably ever been.
Drop any questions on fitment or parts below — happy to help anyone doing something similar.
