Looking for some advice on screenless wearables because I’m stuck between a few options and can’t really decide.
I’ve got an Apple Watch but I barely use it anymore. I find it too distracting with the screen and notifications, and I’d rather just wear something passively and check insights later. I’m planning to use Bevel with Apple Health for most of the analysis side of things.
I’m in the Apple ecosystem (iPhone etc), and ideally I want to avoid subscriptions if possible — which is why Whoop has always put me off a bit, even though I know it’s meant to be the “best” for recovery tracking.
Main use case is:
I also work in hospitals so I have to be “bare below elbows”, meaning I can’t really wear a normal watch during shifts. Because of that I’d be wearing whatever I get on my bicep most of the time. I also sweat a lot and sometimes use a dry sauna, so comfort + durability matters.
Right now I’m mainly looking at:
From what I’ve gathered so far it seems like Amazfit is more performance/recovery focused, and Fitbit is more general health tracking — but I don’t know how accurate that really is in practice.
A few things I’m unsure about:
And bigger picture I’m trying to figure out if the Helio is already “good enough” for serious training + recovery tracking, or if it makes sense to wait and see what Fitbit Air ends up being like (even though the early review embargo thing is slightly putting me off it).
Would really appreciate any real-world experience from people who’ve used any of these, especially if you’ve tried more than one.
Also I think I heard somewhere a new version of the Helio strap is coming out? Or is this just a myth haha
