Just Started - Question About “Activity”

It’s my first full day using the ring. Won’t lie, literally all I’ve done today is woke up, went on a small walk, and played Beat Saber in VR for 30ish minutes for activity. Sure, I sweat and I played Beat Saber as a workout - but there’s no way I’ve burnt 600+ calories today so far. How is this calculated?

Calorie Deficit?

I’m 5’11, M, 275lbs. Plan on starting ASAP.

I’ve done workouts before, and I’ve dieting before, but I haven’t done them together.

What should my calorie “goal” be while maintaining this level of exercise and activity? I’m not sure what to expect.

Additionally, what’s your preferred tracking tool? I used to like my Apple Watch for tracking my workouts, but it broke. Whoop seems nice but expensive.
