Layer hierarchy with parent/child layers?

I have a character with a torso and 4 limbs, the legs are behind the torso, visually, and the arms are before the torso.

Now, I want to use the torso layer as a parent to the limb layers, so when I animate the torso, the limbs move with it.

In after effects I would just drag the parent/child controller of every limb to the torso, without having to move the layers, so the visual hierarchy would remain the same, but in Cavalry, it seems the only way to parent/child layers is putting the childs inside the parent layer, this causes the arms to be behind the torso, and I don't want that.

How can I resolve this? Any help is appreciated!

Is there a rock that is hard on the outside but has a fragile core?

Maybe its a weird question, but Im writing a character and I wanted to make a bit where they think "if I were a rock, which rock would I be?". Now, I know jack about geology, i've searched a bit and could find anything interesting

My premise is that the character is rude, stubborn and nonchalant, but on the inside they're insecure and traumatised (original I know), so im looking for a rock that is strong on the outside but once you crack it the insides are weak? idk im more curious than anything at this point

I appreciate any help!

Why are my layers breaking when I pre-compose?

I usually make each scene of a project in a composition and then put all the comps all together in a final comp so everything is tidy and easily editable

But now I have this scene that looks perfectly fine when in it's original composition, but in the final comp the ships are cut off and in the wrong place

What could be causing this? Any help is appreciated!

Help with masks.

I've watched a lot of videos and stuff on how masks work, and I just can't understand it. Im trying to brute force it but nothing works

I need this sparkly background to be the background of the speech bubble, so i can then animate it moving and it will only show inside the speech bubble.

I really cant get a grasp on masks, so if anyone could explain like im stupid i'd appreciate it

Why was it important that astrophage weren't made of water?

This may be a dumb question but im not a biologist so what do I know.

I've watched this movie many times and read the book, I don't understand why in the initial testing on astrophage that Ryland did was so important that astrophage weren't made of water. What would that have changed? If they were not made of water the scientists could have found an easier way to kill them?

How do I speed up/slow down a video in Cavalry?

Im sure someone will tell me and it's going to be the biggest red button on the interface that i've missed and I will feel stupid, but for the life of me I can't find how to do it and Google is flooded with Ai now so it won't answer anything I search for.

I dropped an mp4 file on the timeline, and I want to speed it up, how can I do it?

[TOMT] [WEBSITE] Im looking for a really really niche website that simulated the old internet with thousands of videos, games and music.

I played on this website a lot a few years back, and I know its real because a friend I played with also remembers, but we can't find it, it seemed like one of those 1/100000 finds on the internet. Mindblowing stuff.

It was a website that simulated the old internet/computer experience. You had a desktop and there were multiple applications and files and browsers. Milions of files of custom music, video, games... The browsers also had dedicated custom websites for literally any word you could think of to search. It sounds insane because it is, it's one of the best websites I've ever seen and Im mad that I didn't ever think to save it to a bookmark.

My only hope is that someone knows this website so I can experience it again.
