D&C + Polyp Removal Before Our First IUI

I’m looking to hear from anyone who has gone through something similar ❤️

I have adenomyosis and two uterine polyps, and next month my doctor is doing a D&C and removing the polyps before we move forward with our first IUI. My RE suggested removing them to help increase our chances.

A little background — I have secondary infertility and PCOS, but mine is more hormonal and not insulin resistant. I’ve had 2 normal pregnancies before, but my last pregnancy was 15 years ago. We’ve been trying on and off for the past 6 years. I eventually realized I now need Letrozole + a trigger shot just to ovulate. We did 4 rounds before they found the polyps, so we paused treatment.

I actually took a 2 year break from everything mentally and emotionally, and now we’re starting back one last time and putting all our cards on the table and going all in.

Has anyone here had adenomyosis and/or polyps removed before IUI? Did it help your success? How successful was your first IUI after surgery? I’d really love to hear positive stories or even realistic experiences ❤️

Hi everyone 🤍

I’m sharing my recent ultrasound results and would really appreciate any insight or experiences you all might have.

I was diagnosed with adenomyosis and also found out I have uterine polyps that will be removed soon. I have a doctor’s appointment in June to go over everything and schedule the procedure. If all goes as planned, I’m hoping to move forward with IUI around July or August using letrozole + trigger shot, and possibly adding progesterone to help prevent spotting during the two-week wait.

One thing that really stood out in my bloodwork is that my estrogen levels are very high (around 561), so I know my hormones and inflammation are likely playing a big role in everything going on.

Right now, I’m really focused on doing whatever I can naturally to calm my uterus, reduce inflammation, and create the best possible environment for implantation before treatment.

For those of you who have dealt with adenomyosis:

• What helped you reduce symptoms or inflammation naturally?

• Did anything help regulate estrogen levels?

• Anything you did leading up to IUI/transfer that you feel made a difference?

I’d truly appreciate any advice, routines, supplements, teas, diet changes, or lifestyle shifts that helped you. I just want to give my body the best chance possible to make that baby stick 🤍

Thank you so much in advance 💕
