Had a great moment with Rachel Dratch tonight at The Rocky Horror Show

Tonight I attended the Rocky Horror Show on Broadway. Former SNL star (and Celebrity Jeopardy All-Star) Rachel Dratch is currently starring as The Narrator. One of the things Rocky Horror is known for is audience participation, specifically yelling things out.

Rachel recently competed in Celebrity Jeopardy All-Stars. During one game, a clue came up containing the year 1588, and Rachel buzzed in, and very tentatively said, "What is the Spanish Armada?" and was correct. She then celebrated, saying the only fact she specifically learned from studying for Jeopardy was that the Spanish Armada was in 1588.

There's a point where The Narrator has a pause, and then says, "It's true..." I've been doing RHS audience participation for decades, and when I heard I was attending a show she was in, I knew what I had to do. So the time came, I yelled, "Is it true you know everything about the Spanish Armada?" Which caused her to stop, and respond with, "Yesssss... It's true...the year was 1588 I believe. A fact which I shall never forget" which got a big laugh.

I got to meet her after the show and she told me how impressed she was with my "deep cut" joke.
