I’ve had my evos for awhile and I love them to death but recently the discoloration on the headband is getting under my skin a little bit, is there anything I can do about it or should I just ride em til they die.
Ive been playing bari for about a year after switching from contrabass and bass clarinet and I’m looking for tips on how to developing a better tone especially when playing quieter
Problem: I think my tone has too much bite or bark, I want to learn to play quieter and smoother jazz lines my higher register when played quieter sounds similar but better than the lower register which sounds gravelly and airy
I dont think its instrument related as I had it in for maintenance not too long ago and all came back well.
When I played it in high school concert band i used a selmer C* and there was still some issue with this gravel but it was just too dark for me so i decided to try a vandoren v16 b9 (I know its a huge transition so I imagine that is part of it)
I use vandoren strength 3’s and really just dont know what to change to remedy the tone
I attached myself playing a concert Eb scale and arpeggio both quiet and louder with no regard for rhythm as it was just a tone demonstration, and advice is greatly appreciated!
