She made it to 269k
SMOD tried to take her out at 268500. Replaced tcm/valve body and radiator. Still a few bugs to work out with other stuff but she hit 269k this morning. 2010 SE. Bought in 2014 when it had about 80-85k miles.
Pcv disaster averted
Also, may have replaced cam sensor without needing to?
Got cam sensor code and lean mix code. Replace cam sensor but code stayed on. Went to replace pcv valve and couldn’t feel it. Thought it had fallen out because the hose was disconnected before I got in there.
Turns out the nipple has snapped off into the hose. Read other posts about pcv being stuck in engine. Didn’t have a 23mm socket. Had to go to 3 different stores before finally finding one at Lowe’s. Home Depot and harbor freight had every size other than 23.
Came off easily. Replaced and screwed in snug. Re-attached hose.
Camshaft sensor easier…
Despite being on passenger side, unbolting, removing, replacing, and bolting in were much easier coming over the driver side tire and laying over the engine.
Most videos I watched showed people laying over the engine straight on in order to get both hands back there. You can see everything and aren’t working as blind from the driver’s side.
Which separator plate is this? 2010 Xterra RE5RO5A E1
Ordered a E1 plate valve body on eBay for my 2010 Xterra. The pictures they had were for the same. Received a valve body with and AA stamp. Initial research says this is for newer models that use a CVT transmission.
Probably goes without saying, but when ordering on eBay from a dealer in China, they are just guessing at what they ship you and they cannot communicate well. They asked for pics of the part I needed to replace in order to make sure they matched. They still sent the wrong one.
