I am considering a Finnish University for when I get my Master’s degree in a year or two. The school I’m looking at has an amazing Masters program for the major I’m wrapping up my Bachelor’s in and I’ve wanted to spend some time in Finland for a while and have been learning the language for a little bit.

My question is, my name is Grayson, usually I go by Gray, and I know that G is not a very common sound in Finnish. I’m so curious about how my name would be pronounced, and if it would be easier if I chose to go by something else for convenience’s sake. Mostly I want to know how my name would be pronounced because if the name George has taught me anything it’s that it will be very different from how it’s pronounced in English.

Edit: These comments are so interesting and very helpful! I had a feeling it would be pretty much the same spoken but pronouncing it with a K is really cool!
