Hi there I fly the F-18C in DCS and I am looking for ways to get into DIY right now i only rock a logitech attack 3 and dont have a throttle if anyome has any begginner projects can you guys give suggestions?

I am planning to make a track IR but cannot decide what to power it with ive tought about normal batteries but they are a hassle and buying continously would be inefficient. However when I looked at lithium ion batteries they seemed dangerous and I never worked with them. This veing my first project I need some enlightment in what to use to power my track IR system.
