So I’m very fortunate to have been sponsored to do a 2 year HNC in electrical engineering on day release which will start in September.
I’m curious to know what roles others with a HNC have gone onto, ideally from personal experience!

(Im a fully qualified UK electrician working in water treatment sites) I’m trying to convince my company to put me on a Lvl 4 HNC in electrical and electronic engineering at a college one day a week, they have come back and said ‘this course is better for business needs’ and suggested a online HNC in instrumentation and control.
They are literally the same modules word for word, except for EE principles and IC principles modules
The EE course offers PLC,Automation,electrical machines, quality and process improvement and production engineering for manufacturing
IC offers Analytical instruments, PLC, electrical machines,and electro, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Both offer engineering science/maths and a design project
Can anyone help me understand if these are that different?
So I believe according to nationwide/chat GPT, I’m not far from being able to mortgage a house,
I’ve lived in a flat on my own for a year now, and would like to gauge how much of a ballache it will be for me to do

So basically my company is fucking me about, I was going to move companies to get more training elsewhere, got the job, put notice in but before I was going to leave got talking to my manager and business director who said i could get a HNC if I stay, this happened about 3 months
Long story short it’s not now looking like it’s gonna happen, obviously I don’t want to stay here if there going to fuck me about like that,
So my question is, if I start the HNC myself and pay for all of it myself, how likely are other companies to hire me if I need to be at college for one day a week? Also is it likely they will pay me for the day I’ll be a college?
