Early morning routine

So I’m recovering from major chest surgery. I’m off work for another 6 weeks and am going insane. All I’m doing is crafts and TV. I can’t go to the gym yet, but I can walk and do mostly everything else. I miss waking up at 5-6 am for work. It just feels pointless to do that now if I’m home all day but I miss it. How can I find a routine in the AM without the gym in the next couple weeks to get me through?

I had a bilateral robotic assisted thymectomy 3 days ago here are my thoughts. I have a VERY mild case of MG and I have yet to notice any symptoms come up after surgery. I got a dose of IVIG beforehand I think that helped. I’d love to answer any questions if you have the

  • Mild bruising but scars are healing nicely

  • walk. Walk walk walk that helps sooo much (outside if you can)

  • get your hair braided or done so you aren’t fighting with it after the surgery

  • I asked ALL the questions. Even if they were dumb I am getting surgery, I want to know everything. I even asked to see pictures which was cool

  • the first day of recovery was rough but it goes by pretty fast

  • if you have a thymectomy, claim the title of badass. If you have to go through it a morale boost helps 🤣

  • Eat. Your. Fiber!! Chia seeds and mission wraps helped me the most. Meds can make you constipated!

  • listen to your body afterwards. Sometimes all I needed was to walk around to loosen up my chest muscles and I felt better

  • take the time off work to recharge. It’s better to go back to work when your physically ready than beforehand and put yourself at risk
