Best TV about or under 1k these days

My family has been looking to replace our 10 year old living room TV for a while but now our 2 year old media room TV we didn't intend to replace stopped working after a software update. It was right at the end of our 2 year warranty and now we can't get it replaced. We are probably looking at getting 2 of the same model in different sizes.

I see a lot of discussion saying the Sony TVs are the best, but considering the 2 year old one that died was a Sony Bravia I feel a little uncomfortable buying. My top contenders right now are TCL and Hisense but since I know nothing about TVs I came here looking for help. Please let me know what are some models you reccomend!

Things to do with visitor in Keller area

My friend is coming down to DFW for business and staying in Keller. I have no idea what’s up in Keller since I’m from the arlington area. She only has a small window (3-4h) around lunch to meet with me. I was looking for a good brunch/lunch spot and maybe a short activity or shopping but I can’t seem to find anything interesting.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Aggie Assurance Supplement in FA

Hi guys! I'm a sophomore at tamu this year and I just got the "Aggie Assurance" scholarship in my tab. I didn't get this last year when I went to tamu so I'm wondering how this all works.

I got Aggie Assurance supplement in my Financial Aid tab after calling the financial aid office saying that my FAFSA doesn't meet my needs. It's a pretty good portion of the tuition cost, but now that I am looking into it, it says that the grant can change after tuition is finalized.

How much does it actually cover? I've seen in other threads that it covers the rest of tuition after whatever other aid that I have, but looking at my bills from past semesters there's other charges like "University Advancement Fee" or "Recreational Sports Fee". Does it cover all of that (besides housing and meal plan) as well? Should I expect the amount given to me go down?

I think I just got more aid for the academic year that just finished?

I didn’t really know what flair to put on this.

I transferred fall 2025 and just finished my second sem here. I got an email like 30 mins ago saying that said that my financial aid for 2025-26 had changed and when I checked it I had a new scholarship “TAMU student success”. Is this gonna be a refund? Has this happened to anyone else?? I feel like it’s counterintuitive 😭
