Which purchase is safer? Any difference?

Which purchase is safer? Any difference?

Really want to pull the trigger on this G5, but idk if I should wait for Black Friday or go through greentoe (never used them, or just Best Buy (marketplace) for peace of mind. What do you guys think?

I found an LG G5 ‘65 in two places:

All in 1947.77 at Green Toe (Brand New)

Best Buy Ships from Beach Camera at 2177.99 (brand new)

Which is the better deal? Are they most likely both from Beach Camera?

Even RTings.com doesn't seem to help. Hisense UR8S vs TCL QM8/9K?

I am completely bewildered by choice right now. Finishing up building my basement dedicated home theater room (fully light controlled), and trying to decide between the Hisense UR8S and the TCL QM8K (which was rated more highly than the QM8L for some reason).

All I read about are horror stories regarding Hisense, but when I viewed them in person the Hisense had much better sharpness and the colors were spectacular, plus very little white bloom.

Is Hisense's reputation worth saving $2k and downgrading to the QM8K (current price of $2,999 at Best Buy) vs going with the UR8S at $4,999? Is it safer to go Mini-LED than gambling on the new RGB micro-LED tech?

LG C5 worth $300 more than UR8?

TL;DR:

Is the LG C5 worth $300 more than the new UR8? or $400 more compared to the TCL?

Which one will be more reliable? I want a TV to last as long as my current one (around 8 years)

Decision paralysis due to: every time I cheap out I get wind up getting screwed, I can't find a lot of reviews on the UR8 (on the UR9 yes). LG C5's reviews are amazing. Micro RGB is still pretty new compared to WOLED and less things to 'go wrong' with a WOLED (at least in my dumb dumb head).

I can also get the UR8 one day sooner, so more of an instant gratification lol.

Lastly, LG was purchased through Costco, so if I don't like it I can return it. But Costco doesn't have the Hisense but they do have the TCL, which is even cheaper by another $100.

I bought a LG C5 77 inch at Costco, getting delivered Wednesday, I realized after I bought the RGB Micro LED prices are cheaper. BB has the UR8 for $1600. Costco has the TCL QM7L for $1500. I went to Best Buy yesterday and of course they didn't have the UR8 on display but had the TCL micro rgb version and wow, it was mesmerizing. They had it next to the C6 (no C5 or C6h on display) and I did notice the contrast difference a little but the colors on the TCL was like a magnet.

The TV will be going in our family room. Mainly SDR content via Apple TV during the day and HDR movies at night. Side windows bordering the TV but no windows in front. The room is not 'dark' during the day and I always have some sort of light on (floor standing lights and/or ceiling lights on) during the day, it's Hue, so I can adjust the brightness.

Whatever TV will be replacing our 75 inch Vizio P series, which has lasted nearly 8 years. The backlight is going out with a neat yellow/brown center 'stain' that is getting worst.

Hey guys torn between the Hisense U7 and the lg b5

I’m torn between which to get. I’m currently in the process of moving to an apartment and will use it for movies and especially gaming on a ps5. So the question is which will give a better experience since it will be used more at later times than during the day?

Help overwhelmed

Hello,

I literally haven't purchased a TV for 10+ years. I'm so out of the loop it's crazy and reading and watching reviews and guides eventually just scrabbles the brain.

I don't want to go deep down the rabbit hole, but also don't want to regret my purchase.

I've moved house, I now have a large living room and the current TV won't cut it.

The main viewing angle of the sofa will be about 6m away from the TV. From what I've read that means I probably want 85" minimum size?

It's just a the main living room TV, we weren't huge TV watchers, the odd kids show, the odd series and the occasional film.

Anyone got any advice/recommendations?

Good viewing angles might be important because the room is also wide, and it won't be getting direct sunlight but the room can be quite bright when sunny

I'm so lost, I just want to throw money at something so I can move onto the next bankrupting purchase before the wife kills me!

LG G5 65" for $1700 (on sale) : Worth it or better options?

Considering the LG G5 65" at $1700 during a sale.
My use case: mostly movies, plus PS5 gaming (especially with GTA6 coming).

Worth the price, or are there better TVs in this range for my use case

Burning wallet, 77 S95h vs 85 Bravia 9 II

As I’m just about to finish my Theater Room audio it’s time to start considering TV choices. My room is light controlled. I’m considering Samsung S95H in 77 inch or a Sony Bravia 9 II in 85. I’m coming from a C1 LG 60 inch. I like the idea of QD-OLED but I’ve read/heard reviews saying the Sony is really really good for black levels, the processing is better and it has Dolby Vision. I’m not really sure Dolby Vision matters at this level. I also like the idea of Sony Picture Cord. I’ve not used it. Seems like a cheeper way to get “lossless” movies. Especially considering the entry cost for a Kaleidescape. Anyone have some thoughts?

B8 II or B9 II? Need help deciding

I’m replacing my current Bravia 7 because, unfortunately, my panel has noticeable DSE. Once I noticed it, I couldn’t unsee it, especially while watching sports or other bright content.

Now I’m torn between the Bravia 9 II and the Bravia 8 II.
The B9 II looks very appealing, but I’m worried about ending up with another panel that has DSE. On the other hand, everyone seems to praise the B8 II for its incredible picture quality, but I’m a bit concerned about OLED burn-in.

I play a fair amount on PlayStation (mostly Destiny 2 and Battlefield), usually around 1–2 hours a day during the week and a bit more on weekends. I also use my Apple TV a lot for Apple Music, YouTube, movies, and TV shows.

For those who own either TV, which one would you choose and why? I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences, pros and cons, or anything else that might help me make the right decision.

Thanks in advance!

Should I keep the X90L I got for $760 or take it back and splurge an extra $400 to get the Bravia 9?

I really like the X90L but is it worth the upgrade? I do a lot of gaming and movie watching. Bravia would be 1160

Transporting 65” OLED on 5hr country drive

Hi All, just bought a 65” OLED at a country electronics store whilst on holiday. Have been looking around for a while and this guy had a clearance floor stock G5 (iykyk) $1500 cheaper than my home town. It was too good a deal to pass up. However, I now have to get it home.

2 issues; firstly it’s a 5 hour country drive and secondly we can’t fit the tv in the car vertically (tried everything). Laid it flat for the 15min back from the store to our accomodation which was fine, but am dubious about the 5hrs home.

I’m nervous about cracking the TV, so any advice on how to pack it? Is it not even worth trying? All tips appreciated.

If not Samsung, then what?

I see a lot of criticism about Samsung TVs on here. I'm just wondering what is better than Samsung? I tried Sony and LG, and I didn't like them. My old Samsung is fine, but I've been searching for a while to get a new one, and I'm just wondering what is better?

4K TV recommendations

What are the top 65 / 70 inch 4K TVs you would recommend to buy in the US for around 1200 USD?

Edit:

  • Room is bright during the day with direct sun.
  • Content consumed is streaming/ gaming.
  • Gaming is from a PC.
  • Streaming is done from TV app and from the PC via Plex.
  • TV is viewed from apprx 7 feet away and is viewed from directly in line with it to apprx 45 degrees.
  • TV is not wall mounted and the center is apprx head height of the viewer when viewer is seated.
