It’s been a while since I’ve bought a TV. Best 75” in the $1k-$1500 range?

I’ve got a fairly bright room that I would like to find a solid TV for. Ideally of course it would do it all, but if I had to list a priority it would be - live sports - gaming and then movies.

I’ll be running a Firestick and external speakers so I’m really not concerned about the software or smart features of the TV nor the internal speakers (does anyone even try to use those)?

It seems the better brands like Sony are clear favorites but also a much higher price point. I have older a Sharp and LG 70+ currently but it seems like some of the previously lessor brands like TCL have improved their quality?

Would love some expert advice :-). Thanks.

Custom Notre Dame Stadium Wall Art / Cribbage Board

I made this one for my daughter who will be a senior at ND this year (and is a football manager so the stadium is extra special to her). Like most of the ND pieces I make it’s framed with actual stadium seats removed during the renovation.

I designed and built my second DND table, Durin’s Hammer [OC]

I wanted to create a smaller and simpler DND table than Durin’s Hammer (my original table) while also making one which easily converts for dining so it’s a little more practical.

The center section can elevate and is on a turntable mechanism so it’s easy to rotate the terrain for better viewing or for easier reach.

There’s kind of 3 different ways to set it up - the one with the curved “eclipse” shelves for TTRPG, a basic hex setup with narrower side rails for board games, puzzles etc, and then of course a complete topper system for dining or playing on top.

I’m excited about how it came out - I you like it.

Simple H2D vs X2D comparison with PLA and PETG

So I wanted to compare print quality and time on a simple print between the H2D and the X2D. I needed to print some battery holders so I printed the green one on the H2D and the Gray one on the X2D. Both used Bambu Lab Matte PLA and I printed them in the logical orientation (standing up) with a .08 layer size and no supports. They both came out great - really aside from one very tiny overhang area which was a little bit better on the HD2, they are identical and took the same amount of time to print. (First two photos only).

I then printed them again in a bad orientation intentionally (laying flat, hollow side down) in the same Matte PLA with Bambu PETG as the interface layer. This was.....a bad idea, because of the internal channels on the side, it was a huge pain to get the supports out, not because the PETG was holding on (it wasn't - it peeled off easily), but the geometry of the supports means those channels were filled with supports and I had to scratch the heck out of it to remove them (All the major dings you see are from me trying to pry the supports out).

Aside from that, the H2D took about 1 hour 50 minutes and the X2D took 2 hours and 20 minutes (these were printed at .2mm slices this time). The overall finish I'd say again was nearly identical between the two printers. - Not nearly as good as the first print, but I'm sure that's orientation and slice thickness.

I realize this probably isn't too exciting a test, but it's nice to see with basic materials (which I'm guessing is what most of us use most of the time), you aren't giving up anything quality wise between the two models. While I love the large form factor of the H2D, I rarely need that much space and find myself using the X2D every bit as much.
