[Honest-Review] Daikin 1.5 Ton 5 Star AC (ATKM50XV Premium) - Real Electricity Usage, Hidden Costs & Offline experience

Hey everyone! I recently bought a new Daikin AC and wanted to share a detailed breakdown of my experience, the hidden installation costs, and a real-world electricity consumption test. Hopefully, this helps anyone looking to buy an AC this season.

📋 **Quick Specs & Purchase Details**

Brand & Model: Daikin 1.5 Ton, 5 Star AC (ATKM50XV Premium Series)

Energy Rating: 5-Star (5.7 ISEER)

Purchased From: Reliance Digital (Offline store)

💸 **The Real Pricing Breakdown**

Listed Price: ₹52,999

Discounted Price (AC): ₹48,300

Base Installation: ₹1,400

Wall Mount Bracket: ₹100

Total Initial Bill: ₹49,800

🏬 **Why I Bought Offline (Reliance Digital Experience**)

The staff gave a great explanation of the product. More importantly, Reliance Digital sells the actual premium models. There is a noticeable difference in quality between these offline premium models and the stripped-down models sold online with drastic discounts. I highly recommend buying Daikin in physical stores so you don't compromise on the build.

🚚 **Delivery & Installation**

Speed: Delivered the next day after purchase.

Installation: Done the very next day after delivery by a 3-member Reliance ResQ team. They finished the whole job in just 1 hour!

🌟 **Pros & Standout Features**

Heavy Outdoor Unit (ODU): The ODU is noticeably larger and heavier than other 1.5-ton ACs in the market right now. This is a massive advantage for heat dissipation, cooling performance, and overall durability.

**Cooling & Comfort**: Features like Dew Clean, Coanda Airflow, and Good Sleep mode are fantastic. The Power Chill mode gives immediate, rapid cooling.

Super Quiet: Daikin is known for less noise, but setting the fan to the "Tree/Moon" mode makes it whisper quiet for sleeping.

Thermostat Range: Temperature can be set anywhere between 18°C and 31°C.

⚡ **Real-World Electricity Consumption Test**

I tested the power draw overnight to see if the 5.7 ISEER rating holds up.

Set temp to 26°C at 9:30 PM (Fan on 'Tree' mode).

Initial EB meter reading: 3187.4 kWh

Woke up at 6:30 AM (9 hours later).

Final EB meter reading: 3189.5 kWh

Total Consumption: Just 2.1 Units for the whole night! 🤯

(Note: My Samsung fridge was running all night too, and I didn't even use the ceiling fan). That efficiency is incredible.

⚠️ **Cons & Hidden Installation Costs (Be Prepared!)**

While the AC is great, the installation costs add up quickly. Unlike other brands, Daikin cuts corners on included accessories:

No Power Cable: They do NOT provide a 3-core cable in the box. You have to buy it from the technicians at ₹130 per meter.

Consumables Add Up: Consumable materials like wrapping tape, drain hose pipe, ODU bushes, etc., cost me an extra ₹2,800.

Stabilizer Install Fee: The technicians charge an extra ₹200 just to mount the stabilizer on the wall.

💡 **My Pro-Tip for Protection**

Daikin claims this AC operates safely between 130Hz/V to 285Hz/V (stabilizer-free operation). However, I strongly advise buying a Double Booster Stabilizer to protect your investment. I personally bought a Premier brand 150V-290V double booster for ₹3,500 from Mercy Electronics.

# ⭐ Final Verdict

**Personal Rating: 9/10**

**Despite the annoying hidden installation costs, the fast cooling, silent operation, heavy-duty ODU, and top-tier power efficiency make it absolutely worth it. Overall, I am highly satisfied! Let me know if you guys have any questions.**

Edit-1: EB test is done in Econo mode.

Edit-2 Please ask Installation person to do vacumming before releasing of coolant refrigerant for better cooling efficiency. Usually they will not do.
