Daikin FTKM50XV installed

Daikin FTKM50XV installed

Purchased daikin FTKM50XV 1.5T star ac from vijay sales website since they are giving a good exchange price on my old dead ac.

We live in a coastal area and summer heat shoots up brutally (40 to 45)

Before purchase, it felt like I was preparing for some exam, gone through all the models, various brands and features.

Wanted to buy panasonic as it is getting for 36k with exchange and card discount but stepped back by looking at reviews and GMCC compressor (since my samsung 2022 model ac has gmcc compressor and it is unable to perform under heat load)

Turns out, this is the best decision. This unit was manufactured in may 2026 and the quality is good too. The indoor unit is massive compared to earlier models and it has 3 filters inside.

ODU is robust as expected and almost makes no noise

Air throw is nice and chills down the room pretty fast.

Just wanted to give a review for people who are in confusion regarding Daikin.

Happy with the purchase

Brought daikin ftkm50xv16mka 2026 (1.5 ton 5 star) offline model for my parents on 2nd may this year

Conditions

Room size : 11x10

Temperature: very high.. usually varies from 40-45 throughout the day (rajasthan border)

No construction above room ceiling so roof gets direct sunlight all day.

The ac is working very efficiently

Parents usually keep it at 27-28 and it chills the room within minutes.

They turn it off in the morning at 4-5am and the room still remains cool till 6-7 am.

The ac runs mostly at 15-20% load so electricity consumption is surprisingly very low and when I say this trust me it's very low.

Going good so far

Best ac for small room around 35k rs

"Hi everyone,

I'm planning to buy an AC for my small room and my budget is around ₹35,000. I'm confused between a 1 Ton and 1.5 Ton AC for a small-sized room.

My main priorities are:

Good cooling for a small room

Low electricity bill

Long-term value for money

Should I go for a 3-Star or 5-Star AC in this

budget?

Also, which brands/models would you personally recommend around ₹35k?

Would really appreciate suggestions from people already using ACs in similar room sizes. Thanks!"

Went down a stupidly deep air fryer research spiral before buying one. Here’s the conclusion I reached.

I initially just wanted something to reheat fries and stop deep frying snacks at home.

Then I made the mistake of opening YouTube reviews and Reddit threads.

Three days later I had:

  • 27 Amazon tabs open
  • spreadsheets comparing basket sizes
  • people arguing about Philips vs Inalsa like it was iPhone vs Android
  • and an unhealthy amount of information about “rapid air technology” (which is mostly marketing)

What I noticed after reading hundreds of reviews and comparison posts:

  • cheap air fryers can actually cook surprisingly well
  • consistency and temperature control are where premium models pull ahead
  • basket size matters more than wattage for Indian cooking
  • most people buy too small and regret it later

I narrowed it down to three models that kept coming up repeatedly in budget and mid-range discussions:

1.         Inalsa 4L Aero Crisp, ₹2,999

2.         Philips NA120/00 4.2L, ₹4,730

3.         Inalsa Air Fryer Crisp Pro 8L, ₹9,599

The comparisons that kept coming up repeatedly in reviews/videos/comments were pretty consistent across a few common foods, so I started organizing notes category-wise instead of just looking at star ratings.

Frozen fries performance

This was the easiest comparison because literally everyone tests frozen fries.

The general pattern from user reviews and cooking demos:

  • The Inalsa 4L cooks surprisingly well for the price, but uneven browning comes up often. A lot of people mention needing to shake midway for even crisping.
  • The Philips 4.2L consistently gets praised for more even cooking and better texture without much babysitting.
  • The Inalsa 8L performs better with larger batches. Smaller portions apparently cook slightly slower because the basket is oversized for low-volume cooking.

The interesting part...once people crossed ~500g batches, the 8L started making way more sense.

Chicken / heavier cooking

This is where basket size started mattering more than raw “air fryer quality.”

Common complaint with smaller 4L baskets:

  • food touching each other
  • uneven crisping
  • moisture trapped between pieces

The Philips handled medium portions well from what I saw.

The 8L Inalsa got recommended constantly by families because you can actually cook Indian-style batch quantities without stacking food.

That matters more than people realize.

Paneer / tikka / Indian snacks

A recurring thing in reviews:

  • cheaper air fryers tend to run hotter than their displayed temperature
  • paneer is usually where people notice it first

The Inalsa 4L especially had multiple comments about aggressive heating and needing lower temp settings than recipes suggest.

Philips got the strongest consistency feedback here.

The 8L Inalsa mostly performed similarly, just with more cooking space.

Pizza reheating

This one was almost unanimous across every model:

Air fryers reheat pizza dramatically better than microwaves.

Crisp base + melted cheese without the rubbery microwave texture.

Honestly half the internet seems to buy air fryers just for fries and leftover pizza.

Dry snacks (makhana/chana/popcorn)

Very little difference between brands here.

Capacity mattered more than performance:

  • smaller baskets = multiple batches
  • larger baskets = easier bulk prep

That’s basically it.

Where I landed on each one

Inalsa 4L Aero Crisp (~₹3k)

Probably the best “I just want to try air frying without spending much” option.

The compromises are predictable:

  • less accurate temperature control
  • more manual shaking/monitoring
  • smaller capacity

But for ₹3k, people seem genuinely happy with it overall. Buy here.

Philips NA120/00 (~₹5k)

This was the model that consistently got the least complaints.

Not necessarily dramatically better food, but:

  • more predictable cooking
  • better basket quality
  • better coating durability
  • more accurate temps
  • fewer “trial and error” adjustments

Basically the safest one-time purchase. Buy here.

Inalsa 8L Crisp Pro (~₹9-10k)

Feels less like a solo-person gadget and more like a proper family appliance.

The consistent advantage wasn’t “better cooking.”

It was:

  • larger portions
  • fewer batches
  • easier meal prep
  • better for Indian cooking quantities

If you regularly cook for 3-4 people, capacity starts mattering more than brand prestige. Buy here.

Stuff I skipped

Pigeon and Solara show up everywhere in search results because they’re aggressively priced, but review consistency looked weaker.

A lot of:

  • durability complaints
  • coating complaints
  • heating inconsistency comments

Could still be fine for casual use, but I didn’t see enough long-term confidence to shortlist them.

Random things I learned while researching this

  • Spraying oil on food works better than pouring oil into the basket
  • Preheating actually matters more than most people think
  • Cleaning immediately after cooking saves a ridiculous amount of effort later
  • “Rapid Air Technology” is mostly branding language. They’re all compact convection ovens underneath

And yes, affiliate links below. Same prices for you, tiny commission for me if you buy through them.

Why is my videocon AC so good?

So I have a videocon Vita Air AC. Long story short i purchased this in 2020 from a previous renter when he was vacating the apartment. I think it was originally purchased in 2018. I bought a samsung and a videocon from him. Samsung is always an issue no cooling and probably gas leakage. But the videocon works perfectly even till date. I have shifted houses twice and kept it without connection for 10months. I expected it to stop working but even in this summer heat it works like a champ. Comparable performance with new Ogeneral and 2 bluestars in my house. Samsung is dead.

Does anybody have similar experiences. if size of ODU is a sign of good quality, this one has a big ODU. I am amazed by this AC every summer

1 Ton vs 1.5 Ton AC for a small room with direct roof exposure?

Hey guys, quick doubt. I'm buying an AC for a small room (approx 110 sq. ft.).

The room is on the ground floor, but there is no floor above it (direct terrace/roof). It gets very hot and the humidity (umas) is quite high.

Should I go for 1 Ton 5-Star or 1.5 Ton 5-Star?

Since the roof is exposed to the sun, will a 1 Ton AC struggle?

Which one will be more power-efficient given the high heat load from the ceiling?

Which is more power consumption?

Looking for a quick "paisa-wasool" suggestion. Thanks!

49kg Daikin vs 31kg Samsung 😭

After weeks of AC research and confusing myself between O General, Daikin and Mitsubishi 😭❄️… I think this is my FINAL WAR.

You guys must have seen my older posts 😂 thanks for all the replies till now.

Now I’ve narrowed it down mainly between Samsung WindFree vs Daikin FTKR/JTKJ series.

Samsung Bespoke AI WindFree 2 Ton
retail price 57K

  • Cooling range: 1.3kW → 7.2kW
  • ISEER: 4.5
  • WiFi + SmartThings
  • humidity display in app
  • WindFree
  • Freeze Wash
  • manual convertible modes
  • comfort dry mode
  • ~31kg ODU
  • ~1880W rated input

Daikin FTKR / JTKJ 1.8 Ton ( wifi series)
MRP around 83k to 85k

  • Cooling range: 2kW → 7kW
  • ISEER: 5.2 to 5.7
  • 750 CFM airflow
  • WiFi + Alexa
  • Turbo Chill
  • Econo mode
  • Dew Clean
  • ~48.5kg to 49kg ODU 😳

JTKJ additionally has:

  • Streamer plasma discharge purification
  • silver accent styling

Now my biggest confusion:

WHY are Daikin outdoor units SO HEAVY compared to Samsung?

Samsung ODU:
~31kg

Daikin:
~49kg

What exactly is inside?

  • more copper?
  • larger condenser?
  • bigger compressor?
  • thicker heat exchanger?
  • more refrigerant volume?
  • better vibration damping?
  • heavier fan motor?
  • or simply overbuilt Japanese HVAC philosophy?

Does this actually translate into noticeably stronger real-world cooling and humidity pull-down?

Or is Samsung already strong enough for Mysore max 38C climate, while Daikin is mainly built for 45C Delhi/Rajasthan survival mode? 😂

Also:
will Daikin actually save noticeably more electricity bills because of 5.7 ISEER vs Samsung 4.5?

And one more thing:
MRP says 83k–85k, but what prices are local dealers actually giving currently for FTKR/JTKJ?

anxiety comes while ordering such huge expensive appliances online 😭 i will walkin to a local dealer

Would love answers from AC enthusiasts or daikin owners.

Panasonic 1.5T 3 star AC installation issue

The AC was installed on 10th May, but the technician did not perform vacuuming. After reading comments and posts in this community, I spoke with customer care on 12th May, and they created a service request (job).

On 13th May, a technician came with only a vacuum pump. He performed the vacuum process without releasing the existing gas. When I asked him about gas refilling, he said it was not necessary and gave unreasonable explanations.

I escalated the issue to the Area Service Manager (ASM). Initially, he acknowledged that gas refilling was necessary, but later he changed his statement and said it was not required based on his experience. He asked me to wait for three days and said that if I still felt there was an issue after that, he would ask the service center to refill the gas.

On 15th May, I contacted customer care again because the AC did not feel cool during the nights of 13th and 14th May. I informed them that the technician had only performed vacuuming without releasing the gas or refilling it, and they created another service request.

On 16th May, I received a call from a technician. He asked about the issue, and after I explained everything, he said he was only a mechanic and that gas refilling was not part of his responsibility. He asked me to contact the service center manager.

I called the service center manager and explained the issue. He also said gas refilling was unnecessary, but when I insisted, he started arguing rudely. He claimed that the company gas was the best and that if I wanted a refill, they would use third-party gas because they do not receive gas directly from the company. I then told him I would speak with customer care because of his rude behavior, and he responded, “Okay, sure.”

After that, I spoke with customer care again, and they arranged a conference call with the ASM. He assured me that he would take the issue seriously and resolve it as soon as possible.

17th May was Sunday, and on 18th May the assigned technician was on leave. The ASM assured me that the technician would arrive on 19th May at 11:30 AM. Later, the timing was changed to 6:00 PM, but the technician still did not arrive. I texted the ASM saying that I would contact customer care again and file a consumer grievance.

After that, the ASM spoke with the service center manager, and a technician finally arrived at 7:20 PM. He came with a vacuum pump and a gas cylinder. I personally checked the weight of the cylinder, and it was 2.3 kg.

The technician turned on the AC for a short time and then released the gas. The process took less than a minute, with occasional loud venting sounds. He then showed me the pressure gauge, which displayed 0. After that, he performed vacuuming, and the gauge showed -30.

Once the vacuum process was completed, he started refilling the gas. At the end of the refill, the gauge showed 150. However, when I personally weighed the gas cylinder again, it still showed the same weight as before the refill. When I questioned him about this, he gave vague explanations, saying that he had filled the gas and that the pressure reading confirmed it.

I escalated the matter again to the ASM. He spoke with both the technician and the service center manager and instructed the technician to repeat the entire process.

The technician then started releasing the gas again, and this time it took longer than before. After that, he performed vacuuming once more. At the end of the process, he said he would refill the gas the next morning because it was already 10:30 PM and the gas shop was closed.

Now I am worried about the purity and authenticity of the gas they plan to use, especially since it is stored in a plain solid-color cylinder without any labeling or details. What worries me even more is that I may have to remain in contact with this service center for the next five years.

Now I’m worried about:

  1. Whether the refrigerant gas is genuine/pure. The fact that they use plain, unlabelled cylinders.

  2. The overall competence and honesty of the service center. Having to depend on this same service center for the next 5 years.

What should I do now? Should I escalate this further to consumer grievance or the brand’s higher management? ASM asks not to complain.

Panasonic ac 1.5ton 5star

Hi guys, I’m planning to buy the Panasonic 1.5 Ton 5-Star AC (EU18CKY5XFM, 2026 WiFi model). Anyone here who has bought or used it — how has your overall experience been in terms of cooling, noise levels, reliability, and electricity consumption?

I’m getting the 2026 model from Reliance Digital for around ₹45k. I’m also getting the 2025 model (EU18BKY5XFM) from Great Eastern offline for around ₹41k.

Do you think the 2026 model is worth the extra money, or should I save some cash and go with the 2025 version instead?

Also, does Reliance Digital provide installation through Panasonic’s authorized service center? If not, does third-party installation affect the warranty in any way?

Would really appreciate some genuine feedback. Thanks!

Paid premium for Mitsubishi Electric AC, terrible experience. Need advice

It’s a long post and have used chatgpt to structure my thoughts (rant).

Bought a brand new Mitsubishi Electric 1.9 Ton 5 Star AC (MSY-GR22VF) from Vijay Sales in March 2026 and my experience has honestly been terrible so far. Need advice on what should be done next.

Timeline:

- Purchased from Vijay Sales Mehrauli-Gurgaon on 26 March 2026
- Delivered on 8 April
- Installed on 10 April by Mitsubishi (EON Enterprises technicians)

During installation itself I noticed dents on the outdoor unit. The technicians casually said this is “normal during delivery” and won’t affect anything.

Then came the bigger issue — vacuuming.

The installation guys initially refused to use a vacuum pump and kept insisting that “self vacuuming” for 2–3 minutes is enough and “nobody asks for proper vacuuming.” I had to argue repeatedly and tell them Mitsubishi SOP recommends proper vacuuming before commissioning. Only after a lot of discussion did they arrange a vacuum pump, and even then they vacuumed for barely around 5 minutes.

Within days, the outdoor unit started making a loud abnormal “helicopter-like” noise.

I registered a complaint on 18 April. Then the service experience became even worse:

Technician called on 19 April. I requested visit on 21 April because I wasn’t available on 19th/20th. Same day, complaint got cancelled without my consent saying: “Appointment More Than 7 Days From Call Registration Date”. I never asked for cancellation

On 21 April I again contacted Mitsubishi customer care, but they said their system was down and promised a callback. Nobody called back.

After waiting I filled a complaint on 25 April. Technician visited on 26 April and temporarily fixed the noise.

Now since last few days the same outdoor unit noise has returned again. I noticed that the noise is occurring only at high fan speeds.

What should I do at this point?

- Push for outdoor unit replacement?
- Escalate to Mitsubishi senior management?
- Anyone else faced similar issues with Mitsubishi Electric service in India?

Main concerns:

  1. Improper installation and possibly incomplete vacuuming
  2. Outdoor unit had dents from day 1
  3. Recurring outdoor unit noise
  4. Complaints getting cancelled without consent
  5. Poor customer support follow-up
  6. No confidence left in the Mitsubishi service partner (EON Enterprises)

Would really appreciate guidance from people.

Worst customer service experience I've ever had - New Samsung WindFree AC not cooling and 1.5 months of endless delays

I bought a Samsung WindFree AC in early April, and it has been one of the worst purchase experiences I've ever had.

From day one, the AC did not cool properly. Even when set to 16°C, the room temperature never dropped below 21–22°C. We had technicians visit multiple times. Both initially claimed the AC was working fine.

When we insisted on proper testing, we asked them to place a thermometer directly in front of the airflow. Even then, with the AC set to 16°C, the air temperature never dropped below 22°C.

What made things worse was the way the technicians handled it:

- They first placed the thermometer directly on the AC grill, where it showed ~14°C, which is misleading.

- When the thermometer was placed correctly on the bed in front of the airflow, the reading rose to room temperature.

- Before the temperature stabilized, they took a photo and uploaded incorrect data claiming the AC was cooling properly.

Then came some of the most absurd excuses I have ever heard. It’s honestly surprising how Samsung even lets such people be service managers:

- "The outside temperature is too high." (That's exactly the reason we bough an AC lol)

- "The room is on the first floor." (And? So the AC won't work on rooms on higher floors?)

- "The room is too large." (The room is 180 sq ft with the AC being 1.5ton)

- "One window curtain was open." (A very small 5 inch height 20 inch wide window without direct sunlight, just ambient lighting)

I've expereinced performance of ACs from Hitachi, Panasonic, Blue Star, and LG in much hotter conditions and on higher floors, and none of them behaved like this. It's genuinely surprising and very very frustrating how one can even consider such excuses when trying to justify their product not working properly.

Samsung Customer Care Was Even Worse

We believed buying Samsung meant reliable customer support. That turned out to be completely false.

Over the last 1.5 months:

- We called customer care roughly 50 times.

- In one 3-day period alone, we called around 20 times.

- We were repeatedly put on hold for 20–40 minutes.

- Every time, we had to explain the issue from scratch.

- We were told a supervisor or service team would call back "within 15–30 minutes."

- Not once did anyone actually call back.

When we demanded escalation, supervisors gave the same scripted response: "We will escalate this to the service team." Nothing happened.

When asked for a higher authority, they told us there was no one above them.

Additional Problems

- WindFree mode makes a loud creaking noise.

- Auto mode sometimes starts blowing warm air and lets the room heat back up to 26°C.

- Power consumption is extremely high. Our electricity bill increased dramatically despite buying a 5-star rated model specifically for efficiency.

Final Verdict

The AC still does not work properly, and Samsung has done nothing to resolve the issue after 1.5 months. This is easily the worst customer support experience I've ever had. Samsung's customer care seems designed to delay and exhaust customers until they give up.

I will never buy another Samsung appliance, and I strongly advise others to avoid Samsung WindFree ACs.

Based on my experience, brands like LG, Hitachi, Panasonic, and Blue Star are far more reliable.

TL;DR: Samsung WindFree AC doesn't cool below 21–22°C even when set to 16°C. Technicians gave ridiculous excuses, customer care never called back despite 50+ calls over 1.5 months, and the issue remains unresolved. Avoid Samsung ACs.

Worst Godrej AC installation & service experience

It’s been just 2 weeks since installation of 1.5 ton 3 Star and the AC already has water leakage issues and is not working properly. The installation itself was badly done — loose wiring, poor outdoor unit setup, and damaged wall finishing.

What’s more frustrating is there’s been no proper service or response even after raising complaints. Really disappointed with Godrej after spending so much money.

Has anyone else faced similar issues with Godrej AC service?
