Bought A Fixed Speed Non Inverter 1.5 Ton Daikin Model FTL50UV16V2 on 13th July 2026 (Offline)

Installation was done by Daikin Representative(s)

As I was personally monitoring each step of Installation, it was done in a proper way including vacuuming, checking leaks etc.

The Representative confirmed if the installation was not proper and the gas leaks due to their fault, then they will have to pay from their own pocket.

The process took about 1-2 hours aprox. and the unit was well prepared for the journey to come.

The performance of the unit was quite acceptable until on 19th July (6 days after installation) I got a call from my parents for whom the unit was installed that the AC is not working and throwing out non-cooled air only

Aware of the fact that they are not well equated with usage of electronic gadgets I speculated that they must have pressed some odd button on the remote and asked a picture of the same.

The received picture cleared confirm status ON Mode Cooling 18C Fan Speed Auto so I booked a complaint with Daikin. The same Daikin representative(s) came to insect and found nothing wrong with the unit as it was working fine and cooling. I insisted on checking thoroughly, so they check gas back pressure and few other points and found nothing.

The same problem surfaced again after 2-3 days. This time the remote display was blank. Removing the batteries (Fresh Duracell pair) and installing them back solved the issue.

After working for 2 days the problem returned. AC on -> normal air ->remote no display but this time the batteries removal re-installation trick did not work. To get things going for the time being I instructed my parents to switch on the AC by pressing the button on the Indoor unit itself for 4 seconds, which worked.

Until the problem is resolved fully, I instructed them, not to use the remote and directly use the MCB switch for Switch on-off operation. To my surprise the remote display resorted in the morning.

Given the facts :

1. This model does not have temperature display on the indoor unit, (only a green led to display the switch on state)
2. No Backlight in the Remote.

I am in a fix. Is this a defective remote malfunction case or is it some Daikin Remote Standby Battery Save feature ?
