Which washing machine has just worked for years, no service calls? Asking before i buy

Buying a washing machine for a new place next month, and im tired of the "avoid this brand" threads. I want the opposite.

Which machine has just quietly worked for you - the one you bought years ago, forgot about, and its still running without a single service call?

Not fussed about front load vs top load vs semi-auto, and not chasing fancy features. I genuinely just want to know which ones have gone the distance in real Indian homes.

Comment if:

  • It survived voltage swings or hard water
  • You've had it 5+ years
  • You'd buy the same one again without thinking twice

Tell me your reliable, never gave trouble machine. Budget picks especially welcome, i dont need half the features anyway.

Ro + Uv + Mtds

We have been using UV + UF purifier for past couple for years. Recently, got interiors renovated in our home and due to modular kitchen planned for UTC (under the counter/sink) instead of wall mounted.

I checked tds which came out to be 320, so decided to go for RO this time instead of just uv & uf.

Bought Aquaguard aspire designo UTC RO + UV.

Now here is the issue :

When technician came to install, Normal tap water tds was 320 & RO water at 47-50. He suggested this tds is too low, so i should get tds controller installed. I okayed and got it installed and tds increased to 120.

Now, i got to know that TDS controllers should be used only if this untreated water goes through "UF filter" but in this model there is no UF filter which means its passing only through UV filter.

Now, I have two options :

  1. Remove tds controller and continue with only RO + UV ( No UF as i mentioned) in which case i'll get purified water with tds around 50 but since it is advised to not drink water with tds levels below 100, i am not sure if its good in long run or not.

  2. Carry on with tds controller. In this case, tds comes to 120 but since its not passing through UF filter, its literally drinking just uv treated water as RO treated water has been contaminated and now this water is ONLY UV treated.

Please advice what should be done.

Need help choosing CCTV for home

Hello peeps. I have a requirement for home cctv cameras about 12 cameras. 6 indoors and 6 outdoors. I am finding the process of considering any brand a bit overwhelming. I have no knowledge about this particular area. All I have heard is that Hikvision is not so good and GOI will soon ban their app so there's that. I haven't heard good long term reviews of CP Plus. I do not want to cheap out on low quality cctv cameras. I would say that my budget is in the mid range category for indoor cameras and mid-range to high-range for outdoor cameras.

What would be better local storage or feed or cloud storage?
Which brands apart from CP Plus and Hikvision should be considered?
What is the budget for good mid range cctv cameras and high-range cctv cameras?
I came across Axis CCTVs and Amcrest CCTV cameras. Where do these fall budget wise?
I would ideally like to avoid Chinese brands since I am skeptical of them.

Do you think around 75k budget would suffice for mid to high-range cameras for my home?

Inverter 1.5 Ton Daikin Model FTL50UV16V2 Initial Ownership Problem

Bought A Fixed Speed Non Inverter 1.5 Ton Daikin Model FTL50UV16V2 on 13th July 2026 (Offline)

Total Cost :

1.5 Ton Diakin 38,800/-

130-280 4Kv Godrej Stabilizer 3500/-

Fright 250/-

32C Havels MCB 450/-

Installation 1200+100 Tip 1300/-

Total : 44,300/-

------------

Installation was done by Daikin Representative(s)

As I was personally monitoring each step of Installation, it was done in a proper way including vacuuming, checking leaks etc.

The Representative confirmed if the installation was not proper and the gas leaks due to their fault, then they will have to pay from their own pocket.

The process took about 1-2 hours aprox. and the unit was well prepared for the journey to come.

The performance of the unit was quite acceptable until on 19th July (6 days after installation) I got a call from my parents for whom the unit was installed that the AC is not working and throwing out non-cooled air only

Aware of the fact that they are not well equated with usage of electronic gadgets I speculated that they must have pressed some odd button on the remote and asked a picture of the same.

The received picture cleared confirm status ON Mode Cooling 18C Fan Speed Auto so I booked a complaint with Daikin. The same Daikin representative(s) came to insect and found nothing wrong with the unit as it was working fine and cooling. I insisted on checking thoroughly, so they check gas back pressure and few other points and found nothing.

The same problem surfaced again after 2-3 days. This time the remote display was blank. Removing the batteries (Fresh Duracell pair) and installing them back solved the issue.

After working for 2 days the problem returned. AC on -> normal air ->remote no display but this time the batteries removal re-installation trick did not work. To get things going for the time being I instructed my parents to switch on the AC by pressing the button on the Indoor unit itself for 4 seconds, which worked.

Until the problem is resolved fully, I instructed them, not to use the remote and directly use the MCB switch for Switch on-off operation. To my surprise the remote display resorted in the morning.

Given the facts :

  1. This model does not have temperature display on the indoor unit, (only a green led to display the switch on state)
  2. No Backlight in the Remote.

I am in a fix. Is this a defective remote malfunction case or is it some Daikin Remote Standby Battery Save feature ?

Before Lodging a complaint I wanted to have your views.

Need help choosing airfryer - Nutricook vs Nuuk vs Philips

Hi guys,

First time airfryer buyer and a little confused which one to choose.

After researching I have narrowed down to these 3.

On one hand, I am thinking of Nutricook or Nuuk. I have read that for airfyer we don't need to go for branded ones, additionally branded companies have not introduced glass jars or ceramic coating, but I am unsure of the cooking quality and longevity.

And on the other hand, we have an established Philips company. Even here I have read mixed reviews on cooking quality.

YouTube reviews are just "influencer/advertisers" simply talking about specs.

I like to get reviews from people who have used these products to help me make an informed decision.

Looking for a reliable robot vacuum + good mopping in India

Please suggest a reliable robot vacuum cleaner available in India with genuinely good mopping.

I'm moving into a new house and this will be my first robot vacuum, so I'm trying to make a sensible long-term purchase rather than just choosing based on suction power/specifications.

My setup:

- Area: ~2,500 sq ft

- Flooring: Makrana marble throughout

- No previous robot-vacuum experience

- Mopping is important to me, not just vacuuming

- Looking for something that can handle daily fine dust and regular floor maintenance

- Budget is flexible if the extra cost is actually justified

I'm currently considering Dreame, Eureka Forbes, ECOVACS and Narwal, but I've been reading mixed reviews about after-sales service in India.

I'd especially appreciate feedback from people who have actually owned these machines for 6–12+ months, rather than short-term reviews.

I'd like to know:

  1. Which model would you recommend for ~2,500 sq ft of marble?

  2. How good is the actual mopping? Does it leave streaks or just wipe the floor?

  3. How well does it handle fine dust on marble and along skirting/corners?

  4. How reliable has it been?

  5. If something went wrong, how was the after-sales service/warranty experience?

  6. Are spare parts actually available in India?

  7. Are third-party dust bags, mop pads, filters, brushes etc. readily available?

  8. What do you realistically spend per year on consumables?

    - Dust bags

    - Mop pads

    - Filters

    - Main/side brushes

    - Cleaning solution

  9. How frequently do you actually replace each of these?

  10. Has anyone had an expensive repair after warranty, and what did it cost?

I'm particularly interested in the actual ownership experience, including what went wrong if anything did. I'd rather hear about the problems people have faced than just hear which robot has the highest Pa rating.

Also, if you've owned both Dreame/Narwal/ECOVACS and Eureka Forbes, I'd really appreciate knowing whether the better service/spare-parts availability of Eureka Forbes is worth accepting the potential difference in cleaning/mopping performance.

Thanks!

Also

Please mention your city as well, since I understand after-sales support can vary significantly across India

People who grew up on coir/cotton mattresses: did SleepyCat Hybrid Latex feel hard or weirdly soft to you?

SleepyCat calls the Hybrid Latex firm, but I feel “firm” means nothing without knowing what you slept on before.

Someone coming from deep memory foam will probably call it hard.

Someone who grew up on those old coir/cotton mattresses may still call it soft or bouncy.

Hybrid has a latex foam layer, so it pushes back a little instead of feeling dead. Then there is AirGen memory foam below it, which adds some cushioning. So it is firm, but not the same type of hard as coir.

Honestly it looks like a good modern option for people who want less sink without sleeping on a wooden board.

Probably more suitable for back/stomach sleepers though. A full-time side sleeper may not enjoy the shoulder pressure.

How did it feel compared to your previous mattress? Also, adjustment period is fine, but I hate when people say “sleep on it for one month” even when someone is clearly uncomfortable. Different feel takes time. Actual pain is not character development.

Looking to buy a 600L+ Side-by-Side Refrigerator – Samsung vs LG. Recent owner experiences?

I'm planning to buy a 600L+ side-by-side refrigerator and have mainly narrowed it down to Samsung and LG. I'm currently finding much better deals online compared to offline stores, so I'm leaning towards buying online. However, before spending ₹60k–₹1L+ on a refrigerator, I'd really like to hear from people who have actually bought and used one recently. I've been seeing quite a few complaints about Samsung refrigerators, particularly regarding cooling, electronics/PCB issues and after-sales service, but I'm not sure how representative those complaints are.

I'd love to hear your actual ownership experience, whether good or bad. How has the refrigerator been after several months of use? Any reliability or cooling issues? How has the service been if you've needed it? And if you bought it online, how was the delivery and installation experience? I'm not looking for model numbers, prices or any personal details — just your honest experience with Samsung or LG. If you recently bought a 600L+ refrigerator, would you buy the same brand again? Also open to other brands if you've had a genuinely good experience.

Has anyone actually tried a glass air fryer?

I've been looking at air fryers recently and came across the glass/transparent ones. The idea seems interesting because you can actually see the food cooking instead of constantly pulling out the basket to check it.

Apparently Ninja is also launching the Crispi in India, which uses a glass cooking container.

Has anyone used a glass air fryer before?

Recently purchased an RO+UF Water Purifier. Water TDS Level came out as low as 17. Did I make a mistake?

It was more of an impulse buy and lack of knowledge regarding water filters and purifiers.
When searching for water filers/purifiers online, the first thing that would pop up would be RO, so naturally I ended up buying one thinking it was the norm.
Prior to installing the purifier, I didn’t know the TDS level of my tap water. It was only after getting the RO that I noticed my thirst wouldn’t go away after drinking water and the noticeable heartburn or acid reflux right from the first day of drinking RO water. So I tested it with a TDS meter:

Tap water TDS Level - 180 ppm
RO water TDS Level - fluctuates from 17 to 28 ppm

The purifier claims to use a magnesium and calcium mineral-enrichment cartridge but I am not so sure about how good it would be for me to consume this water long term considering how low the TDS is and how my body is reacting to the water.

I even contacted the service person asking if the TDS could be adjusted manually in the machine and he said it wasn’t possible.

Lost and very confused on what to do next. Would I be better selling it off?
