US Bank reversed my AHC rent payment, again!
There are a coupe of factors that make closing the account and taking my business elsewhere not feasible at this time. So, this month on Friday the 2nd, I set up the electronic transfer from my account to my property management. On Monday May 5th I checked my account, and the rent had cleared, and I didn’t give it a second thought till Wednesday May 7
When I received a late rent notice. Property
management are charging me an additional $85 late fee, plus $35 NSF check fee. I immediately logged into my bank account and discovered a substantial balance, several hundred dollars less than my rent amount, because several other debts had cleared, but there was NO record of my AHC rent transaction, nor any explanation for why the payment was reversed. Yes I had more then enough money to cover the rent and other first of the month bills. Here’s the real kicker; this is the fourth time over the past year that US Bank has done something to cause my rent to be late, and there by causing late fees, and or NSF fees to be assessed! It seems what they do is; instead of posted debts and credits in the order they were made, or by the transaction date, they with hold or delay the rent debt being paid and debt any other transaction that were pending or items that hit the bank days after the rent transaction was initiated. I question the legality of these banking practices, and have gotten nowhere after meetings with two different branch managers. Is there some sort of banking watchdog agency that I can complain to? The anxiety I suffer around the first of every month is horrible!
Please someone shed some light on these rouge banking practices.
