Bed raising?

Incoming freshman, would love to be able to raise my bed to around 2.5-3 feet to put my mini fridge and some storage under it. I looked online at my room and it seems like the bed frame isn't adjustable. Is there a way to still accomplish this?/Are there rules against raising a bed?

Is it worth it to take a gap year to get into a more competitive medical school if I'm trying to match into orthopedic surgery and then pursue a spine fellowship?

How much does medical school prestige impact match into orthopedic surgery (if it does at all)?

What's a good amount of money/budget for the year?

Incoming freshman wondering how money money to bring for non-academic purchases like food (outside of dining hall), social outings, etc. Pretty much purely discretionary.

I'm honestly pretty cheap and not super social and don't anticipate going out more than once every two weeks, but I know Boston is an expensive city and things can add up fast as a college student. I don't anticipate buying any clothes, but I do like to go grocery shopping for some basics (around $40 worth of fruit, vegetables, and meats where I live in the South) every other week and would like to go to at least one social outing a month. How much do students from middle class backgrounds typically spend a year?

What can I do with BLS and ALS certifications?

I understand that it (the BLS cert) a requirement for certain clinical jobs that require other certifications (like CNA, etc), are there things that I can do with only the BLS and ALS certifications?
