I just have to say, I love this place. I live in East Tennessee, and I've always considered it to be a little slice of heaven, but I'm very jealous of anyone that gets to live here full time lol. It's probably my favorite beach I've ever been to. I really enjoyed Tybee Island as well, it has a very similar "small" beach town next to a big city vibe. The beach is okay, but I prefer the gulf side.

My kids are already asking to come back next year. My wife and I prefer to try some place new every year, but we might have found our spot lol.

Y'all have a 10/10 area!

Hello! Like the title says, in about 2 weeks I'll be visiting Clearwater for the first time in my life. This is also the first time I'll be taking my children to the beach and I'm trying not to over pack, but I'm also trying to make sure I have all my bases covered lol.

Would it be recommended to bring an umbrella? I see on the Clearwater website that apparently you can rent chairs and umbrellas, but I don't understand exactly where they are.

We have plenty of sunscreen, and long sleeves and stuff for the kids, but an umbrella is one thing we do not have.

Thanks for the advice, and if you have any other advice for a dad taking a 5 and 6 year old to the beach for the first time I appreciate it!
