What is a curious fact about the characters that surprised you the most?

I remember that as soon as I started my playthrough, I really grew fond of Naomi and Seiko—especially Naomi, because of her personality.

I have a habit of looking up trivia or facts about the characters I like, and one thing that kind of stunned me at first—but that I find charming now—is that she and I share birthday date(December 14th). Needless to say, she’s my favorite character.

Has anything like that happened to you? Or is there a particular piece of trivia about a character that really caught your attention? Let me know!

Sometimes I wish I wasn't a Sonaze fan: A vent

I’m going to take advantage of the fact that another wave of depression has just hit me to get these thoughts out of my head and at least have people to listen. You might make fun of me, but honestly, I like reading the comments and whatever people have to say about what I’m thinking.

To be honest, if there’s one thing I often regret as a Sonic fan, it’s becoming a fan of the Sonaze pairing.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the ship, and I have a history with it that I’ll share another day because I just don’t feel like it right now, but there are times when I feel like I made a mistake by becoming a fan of it.

Ever since I joined the Sonaze fandom, I’ve felt in one way or another even more rejected than I already was. I clearly remember that when I first got into it, everyone I knew who was a Sonic fan (or knew anything about the franchise) looked at me strangely for starting to ship that pairing. Even my girlfriend, who was actually the reason I started shipping Sonaze in the first place (the first time I played Rush, Blaze reminded me a lot of her, and since I see a bit of myself in Sonic, I just put two and two together; it’s not rocket science).

Over time, I grew fond of them and started drawing them every now and then, looking at fan art, reading fanfics and comics, coming up with headcanons, and so on; the typical shipper stuff. But the deeper I got into it, the lonelier I felt.

I’m going to be honest here (though I think it’s pretty obvious): I envy the Silvaze fandom. Yes, I admit it; I envy them for having it easier (or at least, that’s how it looks to me).

Whenever I saw Sonaze art on Twitter, Instagram, or any social network, all I saw were attacks on the artists or nothing but GIFs or images of Silver or Amy crying or angry. It was a toxic, radioactive attitude that made me feel like I was doing something wrong because, deep down, *really* deep down, something told me they were right, that I shouldn't be shipping Sonaze.

To make matters worse, whenever Silvaze fanart appeared in my feed, it had thousands of likes compared to a few hundred. And it wasn't just that; there were retweets from SEGA and the comic book crew, and incredibly talented artists creating pieces that looked like genuine works of art... hell, I think there’s even Silvaze fanart pinned to the walls of the SEGA offices.

Seeing that I got nothing but insults for shipping Sonaze made me feel... unwanted by anyone.

What made it even harder was that Sonaze was a lifeline for me back then; my parents were separating, and there were legal issues regarding a piece of land that still stress us out to this day.

Then there was the massive harassment I endured on Twitter for four consecutive years, and the whole thing with that ex-friend who tried to steal my girlfriend by using the Silvaze ship as a weapon against me. (I won't go into detail about that.)

And well, amidst all that, the envy grew so intense that I forced myself to like the ship; but the more I did, the more I hurt myself.

And you know what the sad part is? It seemed like people liked me better as a Silvaze fan than as my true self. So I was right: I *had* made a mistake by choosing Sonaze.

I wish I had what they have: approval from Sega itself, affection from almost the entire fandom, unanimous validation, and fan art and fanfiction of enviable quality.

And what do I have? Artists who left due to massive harassment; few fanfics, or ones abandoned because of that harassment; a sense that both Sega and those involved in the franchise hate the ship (the only bit of Sonaze fan service was that hand-holding panel in issue #63, released in 2023); and this crappy *Your Name*-themed drawing I made.

Even the game's director dislikes the idea of the *Rush* ending being viewed as a romantic scene—yet that was exactly what made me fall completely in love with the ship.

It makes me sad to think this way, but when the only response I get to saying "Hey, Sonic and Blaze make a cute couple" is thousands of people writing essays on why I'm wrong—and knowing they're right... well, how could I not hate being a Sonaze fan?

In fact, these thoughts have affected me so much that I can no longer listen to romantic music or watch romance movies, anime, games, or books—anything romantic—without thinking about how perfect it would be for Silvaze, and how, if applied to Sonaze, it would turn into horrible trash that everyone would hate because it disrespects the characters and established canon.

To be honest, I do have regrets, but at the same time, I can't help but feel that both *Rush* and the Sonaze pairing represent a significant part of my relationship with my partner.

I only started shipping Sonaze because of her; she gave me the original game when I went to visit her, and we even said goodbye using the same line from the *Rush* ending when I had to return to my country: "We'll see each other again."

Still, I can't help thinking that everything would have been easier if I had chosen the silver hedgehog instead of the blue one.

But anyway, what's done is done.

We're saving a Girl?! (Ninjago audio)

Here's a silly Sonaze meme I did with a Ninjago audio.

Any Jaya fan here too?

What is the scene from Blood Covered that freaked you out the most?

Again, as I said, I'm really new to this franchise and just played the First Game on 3DS.

Something I loved about the story it's how it handles the awkwardness, the isolation and the paranoia on every corner, and it gets every time worse as you go on. (Even more when you try to unlock every bad ending like myself).

But here's a question that I'm doing to the most veterans: what scene stayed with you the most? Like... In nightmares of looping on your mind?

As for me, the scene when we discover Morishige doing....that with the picture of Mayu's splatter, the scene where we see Seiko's corpse face to face on chapter five, Basically Every scene with Yuka or the Ending where Yoshiki eats Ayumi alive on chapter two... Those really freaked me out to name a few.

Which ones are yours?

My Corpse Party character tier list (BC)

Since I'm relatively new, I wanted to share a tiny tier list I just did about the Characters from the game (That I recognized, I've only played Blood covered on 3ds and just the main story for now)

What do you think? I think it's pretty obvious who is my favorite girl

u/Clemesonic_13 — 2 months ago

Why is Seiko always in the front?

I'm relatively new to the Corpse Party community (I only finished the game about a month ago) and I have a somewhat silly question.

If Seiko isn't one of the "main" characters, why is she always on the covers or so prominently featured?

I mean, I can understand why Satoshi, Naomi, Yoshiki, and Ayumi are so prominent because they're the most important characters in the franchise, as far as I understand. But Seiko? The first character we see die in the first game, and then she never appears again? I understand she's relevant to Naomi's development, but I don't feel like she's that important.

Just to be clear, this isn't a complaint or anything; I really like her, but it's something that makes me raise an eyebrow every now and then.

Sonaze Coded Shippings #1: Anakin and Padmé

Hello there! Welcome to the first installment of a new series I’m calling "Sonaze-coded ships."
I had originally planned to do this on Twitter, but since I no longer have an account, I’d like to launch this series here instead.

What’s this all about? It’s pretty simple: I’ll be analyzing the dynamics of other couples (from anime, movies, video games, and more) and comparing them to our favorite ship to see if they share that special spark Sonaze fans love so much.

In this first episode (and taking the opportunity to revisit most of the material featuring this couple) we look at a pairing that might not seem to fit the "Sonaze" mold at first glance; however, if you read about them with an open mind and trust in the Force, you’ll see that they actually have quite a lot in common.

Our first stop: Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala from the Star Wars franchise!

Yeah... I know what you're probably thinking.

>"But they don't mix at all, not even with superglue! What does Star Wars have to do with Sonaze?!"

Please, just let me cook and hear me out. Anyone who’s seen Star Wars knows what happens with Anakin and Padmé, but that doesn't change the fact that they share several similarities.

So, without further ado, let's get into the first point!

1: Personalities and Contrast.

>"Isn't Anakin literally Darth Vader? How is he anything like Sonic?!"

Well, yeah.
Sonic doesn't resemble Anakin at all... if you only look at the prequel trilogy.

The reason many franchise fans didn't connect with Anakin back in the day was precisely because "Skyguy's" story was incomplete in a way; however, if you've watched The Clone Wars series, you can see that they actually share quite a few similarities.

Cocky, impulsive heroes who love being the center of attention, taunt their enemies, and possess an innate knack for combat? I don't know about you, but that gives me serious Sonic vibes.

  • Both Sonic and Anakin are natural-born prodigies with massive egos, hardened by countless battles. They love being the center of attention, showing off their skills, and ignoring authority whenever it stands in their way. Above all, their humor is rooted in pure sarcasm. Whether surrounded by battle droids or Badniks, they spend the most critical confrontations cracking wise, mocking their enemies, and treating danger as a joke.

As for Padmé and Blaze, there isn't much to say, as the comparison is obvious.

Both are strong-willed women of royal status who possess personalities that are more grounded, stoic, and serious than those of their male companions; yet, their involvement in politics and "princess" status do not make them damsels in distress.

  • Blaze and Padmé serve as the perfect counterbalance to Sonic and Anakin. Both are young women who were forced to shoulder immense leadership responsibilities at a very early age (princess/guardian and queen/senator). Unlike their counterparts, Blaze and Padmé carry themselves with a refined, mature dignity. Yet, that does not make them boring; they possess a very dry sense of humor and deliver calm, biting, sarcastic remarks that instantly deflate the men's egos whenever they get too full of themselves. And as I’ve already said, both have strong personalities and do not back down from danger, capable of defending themselves and proving to be a great help in the battles they get drawn into.

Point 2: Duty, freedom, and rebellion.

One factor that makes both pairings quite similar is how they handle the issue of responsibility.

  • While Blaze’s restriction was a self-imposed isolation and Padmé’s a political obligation, both share the exact same struggle: they are young women trapped in a gilded cage defined by duty, feeling compelled to put their personal lives on hold simply to serve others. This is clearly evident in the way Blaze refuses help from absolutely everyone in her mission to retrieve the Sol Emeralds, and in Padmé refusing to love Anakin when they reunite in Episode II.
  • As free spirits who refuse to be bound by formal etiquette (though Sonic is even more of a rebel than "Skyguy") both heroes bring a breath of fresh air into these ladies' lives. Anakin offered Padmé a refuge from the artificial pressures of the Senate, reminding her that, first and foremost, she is a person. Similarly, Sonic challenged Blaze’s "I have to do it all alone" mindset in Sonic Rush, managing to break down her barriers and show her that accepting help isn't a sign of weakness.
  • The difference here is that while Sonic managed to convince Blaze after fighting her, Anakin is far more insistent on his stance, as he too is trapped in a sort of cage: the Jedi Code’s prohibition against attachments. Yet, in true cringey 19-year-old fashion, Ani didn't give a damn and violated the Code by secretly marrying Padmé.

Point 3: Mutual balance

Another thing Sonaze has in common with Anakin and Padmé is the "adventurer and princess" dynamic; or rather, the "Jedi and senator" dynamic.
We’ve seen this in countless fictional couples, and for fans of this pairing, it’s very easy to associate this trope with Sonic and Blaze.

But... why does this happen?
Beyond the chemistry they share, this can be compared to British writer Simon Armitage’s literary metaphor of "the kite and the anchor."

  • The kite lifts the anchor: Sonic brings out Blaze’s warmer, more relaxed side, showing her that it is okay to let her guard down and smile. Anakin did the same for Padmé, becoming her primary escape from the tense, rigid politics of Coruscant.
  • The anchor keeps the kite from flying away: Blaze brings a level of seriousness, dignity, and focus that Sonic often overlooks or treats lightly. Similarly, Padmé was one of the few people in the entire galaxy capable of calming Anakin’s volatile mind before he lost control.

This is why the Adventurer and the Princess work so well, they are literally complementary opposites.

Point 4: Lore parallels

Something that surprised me a bit when closely observing the dynamic between the two is that they fulfill similar roles, not exactly the same, but quite alike.

  • In Star Wars, the bond between Anakin and Padmé unites two completely distinct pillars of galactic society: the spiritual and mystical discipline of the Jedi Order and the political, secular reality of the Senate. Their dynamic causes two worlds of entirely separate duties to converge.
  • In the Sonic lore, Blaze acts as the sworn guardian of the Sol Emeralds, while Sonic is the primary defender of the Chaos Emeralds. They are not merely a duo; they represent two mirror-image dimensional energies that must (literally) remain in harmony to preserve cosmic stability.

Point 5: How they act as a couple

When comparing Anakin and Padmé across various scenes in the CGI Clone Wars series or the three prequels, you might realize there are moments where you think, "These are definitely Sonic and Blaze."

There's a few specific scenes of Padmé in Episode II that are the perfect example:

  • The "You're coming with me" moment: After getting a cryptic distress call from Obi-Wan, Anakin is strictly ordered by the Council to stay put on Tatooine and just protect Padmé. But instead of letting him hide behind his orders, Padmé takes charge and decides to fly to Geonosis to save Obi-Wan herself. When Anakin tries his "I'm under strict orders to protect you" routine, she instantly flips it on him: "If you plan to protect me, you'll have to come along." She doesn't let him dictate the terms or leave her on the sidelines.
  • The Pillar Escape: After being captured, Anakin and Obi-Wan are chained to execution pillars in a massive arena, waiting to be fed to wild beasts while thousands of Geonosians watch. Anakin is way too worried about Padmé's safety to even focus on a plan, leaving Obi-Wan as the only one trying to figure out a logical way out. But while they're still talking, Obi-Wan looks over and dryly points out that Padmé "seems to be on top of things." She had already picked her own locks with a hairpin, scaled a giant stone pillar with her bare hands, and was ready to fight.
  • "Aggressive Negotiations": In the middle of absolute chaos, taking cover from droid crossfire in the arena, Anakin drops a sarcastic comment: "You call this diplomatic solutions?" Padmé doesn't even flinch, she just smirks and hits him back with "No, I call it aggressive negotiations."

As for Skyguy, here are a few from the Clone wars series that give the same vibes:

  • The Secret Hologram Call (The Clone Wars 7x02): Anakin sneaks a private hologram call with Padmé right in the middle of a military campaign, with Captain Rex standing guard outside the barracks desperately trying to stall Obi-Wan. The best part? Padmé knows Anakin so well that when he excuses his lateness by complaining about how long the Outer Rim sieges are taking, she dryly teases him with: "That would be why they call it a siege..." and "You thought you could bring a swift end to the conflict single-handedly". It perfectly shows how she can instantly read through his hero complex, while still maintaining that private, playful connection amid their chaotic duties.
  • "What are you looking so sad about?" (The Clone Wars 1x22): After being knocked unconscious while fighting unarmed to protect the Senate, Anakin comes to right in the middle of a hostage crisis. As a panicked Padmé kneels beside him whispering "Please Ani, wake up", he opens his eyes with a smirk and casually drops "What are you looking so sad about?". Seconds later, Padmé hands him back the lightsaber he had given her earlier as a token of devotion. It’s the perfect showcase of their dynamic: a reckless hero who uses nonchalant banter to ease her terror, and a leader who keeps his most dangerous weapon safe when he needs it most.
  • The Senate Office Encounter & The Gift of the Lightsaber (The Clone Wars 1x22): When Anakin sneaks into Padmé’s executive office, he immediately tries to coax her into dropping everything for a secret two-week escape, prioritizing their love over the galactic civil war. Padmé gently grounds him, reminding him that her duty to the Senate and to those who cannot protect themselves must come first. Frustrated and desperate to prove that nothing in the galaxy matters more to him than her, Anakin takes his lightsaber, recalling Obi-Wan's words that the weapon is his very life, and places it into Padmé’s hands.

Look me in the eye and tell me this does not give off massive Sonaze vibes.

Point 6: Same "distance" problem, different outcome.

An argument often used to discredit the Sonaze pairing is the fact that the two cannot always be together, as they inhabit different dimensions.
We have already seen that Anakin and Padmé come from different worlds, given that the Republic Senate and the Jedi Order force them to remain apart, proving that physical distance isn't unique to this dynamic.
Ironically, Sonaze acts as a sort of "good ending" to the tragic outcome experienced by the Queen of Naboo and the Jedi Knight.

Let me explain:

  • Trapped by the Jedi dogma against attachment and the secrecy of his marriage, Anakin had no safe outlet for his fear of losing Padmé; a fear compounded by his trauma from losing his mother and seeing Ahsoka leave the Order. That deep emotional isolation, combined with his desperate nightmares, allowed Palpatine to manipulate his panic and drive him to the Dark Side. In contrast, Sonic and Blaze’s dynamic is free from dogmatic shame or desperate secrecy. They handle their separate dimensions with absolute trust, completely eliminating the fear, isolation, and downfall that destroyed the Star Wars couple.
  • Sonic and Blaze achieve the emotional stability Anakin and Padmé never could. Operating like the sun and the moon, they inhabit entirely different spheres. Blaze being the radiant, steadfast sun upholding her empire, and Sonic being the free, ever-moving moon that sweeps in like a gentle night breeze to cool her burning burdens. Their interdimensional separation isn't a tragic barrier, but a cosmic harmony; they don't need to occupy the exact same sky to shine together, proving that true connection doesn't decay into possessive fear when distance separates them: it only reinforces their trust.

Conclusion:

Anakin and Padmé's story is a tragedy of proximity.
A bond destroyed by forced secrecy, fear of loss, and the emotional isolation of two incompatible worlds. Sonic and Blaze take that exact same premise and turn it into their greatest strength. By replacing desperation with absolute trust, they prove that love and duty don't have to destroy the hero. Distance doesn't weaken the bond between the radiant sun and the cooling night wind of the moon, it only proves how unbreakable their orbit truly is.

So for me? YES, Anakin and Padmé are Totally Sonaze Coded!!

But that's just my opinion...

What do you guys think?

Sonic and Blaze fit the Jedi and the Senator?
There's something you wanna add?
Do you disagree or agree?

As for me, that's all for today!

See you around and May the force be with you!

Wanting to make a Horror game. XP or VX Ace?

Hi, good evening.

I'm currently planning to make my own horror video game using RPG Maker. Since the engine is completely new to me, I’d like to know which version I should start with: VX Ace or XP.

I'm from Argentina and have a pretty limited budget, so those are the two options that fit my means. As I mentioned, my goal is to create horror games (with the 3DS version of *Corpse Party* being my biggest inspiration).

So, which one should I go with? I honestly don't know which is better for what I want to do.

I look forward to your replies—thanks a lot!

Is there any good romantic Sonaze Fanfic?

I'm not a fanfic consumer, but I wanna read one that is actually good.

Not villanizing any character, having a natural development and mostly of all, that the Relationship feels realistic and not overly romanticized.

What I mean by that las beat is that not everything in a real relationship is roses and happiness, I don't know if you get me
