Kids show or All ages

Edit: seems like I was pretty.on the money haha. To clarify, I do not mind enjoying shows focusd for kids (Craig of the creek is one of the best cartoons in years) this was more to understand what folks mean when they say kids show both positive and dergotiorily, which y'all have responded very awsome to.

I'm one to feel like a kid's show, at least a eally well written kids show, is written by adults for kids and other adults. From the little that I have experienced so far I feel like what I've consumed of Kamen rider definitely fits that vibe. But every so often I'll see a comment about how the show is supposed to be made for preschoolers and I am a little jarred by that just because of some of the topics that both newer and older seasons would cover.

It could be that Western / American sensibilities have younger kids not be challenged with such harsh topics, But then the other hand I'll also see people complaining about the current season about it being too adult for children so that....clashes.

So from my senior toku fans, is Kamen rider generally an all ages show or it's intended for the tots but Japanese just REALLY goes hard on kids TV?

Gai Amatsu rant

Watching Zero-One(finished Episode 33) right now and holy fuck this guys just sucks as a character. It's like watching Kuroto Dan without the intelligence or charisma. Give his enemies two different power ups and past the debut of MCH he just exists to get his ass beat by Aruto, Fuwa and Jin

Baku and Kureha Art (Part 2)

I honestly didn't expect the previous post to get so much attention! And props to u/Electro-Tree-Fall for their suggestion for the first sketch. I am seriously tempted to start a small au of Six being more involved in the story. (Maybe with a certain vagueposter taking an interest in recruiting her)

Finished Heisei Phase 1 this week. Thoughts…

I’ve been into tokusatsu for about 6 years. For most of that time, I thought Kamen Rider stopped being good after Agito. I don’t know where this belief came from because I was completely wrong. Since January I’ve been on a tear, flying through Heisei phase 1 in order, starting with Ryuki (I watched Kuuga and Agito years ago) Over the weekend I finished decade and thought this sub might be interested in my ranking with some brief notes. I mostly just want to gush about kamen rider and interact with fellow fans. What’s everyone else’s ranking? Or at least, what do you consider peak or the worst of the era? I will say the only show I didn’t like was Den-O but it still had redeeming qualities and I enjoyed chunks of it. Picture for attention. It’s my haul from a toy convention I went to over the weekend. Got a killer deal on the rider 6” sofubi.

Kamen Rider Kuuga>!- Watched this one years ago, but will still randomly play episodes. It’s my favorite!! What can I say that hasn’t been said? The scene where he beats the crap out of the porcupine kaijin is one of my favorite toku scenes period.!<

Kamen Rider Faiz>!- I was genuinely sad when it was over. Like I was going to miss hanging out with real friends. I hated Kusaka so much throughout the show but when he died I just felt sick. Not because I would miss him but because what it meant for Kiba’s character. They kinda whiffed the ending but still some powerful stuff in there.!<

Kamen Rider Ryuki>!- the reveal that the whole mirror world/rider battle royal was spurred by childhood abuse was dark and beautiful. Loved most of the characters and suit designs. Goro is my favorite and I wish he got more time as a rider.!<

Kamen Rider Hibiki >!(thru episode 29)- at this point it’s cliche but those first 29 episodes are damn near perfect. Had me in my feels and tearing up almost every damn episode. I liked it so much I watched!<
>!Daimajin Kanon (the producer and the writer’s later series) in the middle of my Kamen Rider binge. Must see if you like Hibiki.!<

Kamen Rider Blade>!- tbh kind of a mid season. Maybe this is a hot take, but the fighting was bad. On Faiz, fighters looked like they were beating the crap out of each other. On Blade, you could see them purposefully missing punches like a western stereotype of Japanese action. But the end really elevates the series. Plus, Chalice is top 3 rider for me, for sure.!<

Kamen Rider Kiva>!- I thought I would hate Kivat but I ended up thinking he was cool and I liked the idea of a sentient driver. For some reason, I absolutely loved the cgi castle and the monster weapon guys inside. The wolf guy was my favorite character. Nago’s arc was pretty stupid. Seemed like he was going to be more like Kusaka at first then he became a joke character. I mostly preferred the 1986 timeline. Overall I liked it and I want more goth Kamen Rider.!<

Kamen Rider Agito>!- I watched this years ago and I’m gonna be real, I probably need to watch it again. But I remember really liking Gills story. The rest kinda blends in with Kuuga and I didn’t even watch them close together.!<

Kamen Rider Decade>!- show was a hot mess. I loved Diend and visiting the AR worlds. But I also watched the All Riders movie. Are we really supposed to just be cool with Decade being high up in shocker? Then he only leaves because they turned on him? He seems sort of irredeemable. He was one of my favorite main riders up to that. If someone can explain to me why I’m wrong on that, I’d love to hear it. I’m watching W just so I can watch the W and Decade movie to finish the story.!<

Kamen Rider Kabuto>!- great fighting and food motif. Some cool suits, some stupid suit choices.!<
>!I think they started to get a grasp on how they wanted all Kamen Rider shows to feel moving forward, with this one. Kamen Rider used to be more serious with some comic relief characters and stories. Since Kabuto is almost the opposite. They’ve just been trying to find the right balance of silly and serious ever since and I don’t think they have tbh (remember I’m only on W)!<

Kamen Rider Hibiki>!- (after episode 29)- Zanki stuff was fun but damn did they betrayed the characters and story. I don’t even want to talk about the character they added in. (Even tho the actor end up playing my favorite rider in Den-O)!<

Kamen Rider Den-O>!- The only season I almost gave up on. The imagin’s sand form where their legs are above them is kinda cool. I liked Deneb a lot. I don’t want to yuck anyone’s yum so I’ll leave it at that. Just not for me. I can see the appeal for kids so I can’t dog on the show too much.!<

Ryuki Ending

Finished Ryuki on Tubi last night, just now woke up to get started getting ready for work. Had a question about the ending of Ryuki. I’m making sure I’m getting this correct. >!So Ren is the last rider and technically wins the Rider fight. Kanzaki resets the world after Yui disappears so it goes back to episode 1 where no one knows each other Every one gets to be alive and happy even Kanzaki!<

While I was watching I felt like towards episode 47-50 there wasn’t a clear way to end the show. I kept asking myself how are they gonna resolve all plot lines within 3 episodes. It felt somber compared to Gaim’s ending which was sad. Can’t say I liked the series overall but glad to cross it off my list.

My next picks to watch are either Blade, Agito, Saber or Geats.

Day 12 of implementing final forms not accessed into the show in the show they came from: Knuckle.

How would you add Knuckle’s Jimber Marron Arms in Gaim?

Precure is Canon to Kamen Rider

Its been basically confirmed for years now yet people oddly enough are far more strict on pretty cure simply because they don't like the idea. Even anime like Air Master are canon to kamen riders multiverse 😭 PS sorry for the weird formatting i basically spliced together 2 videos I made on the topic so sorry if theres no flow from point to point

Transformation Graphics

Hi,

I'm new to the genre and the series, I've been enjoying Zetz every saturday, but my favorite rideris Buffa.

I was wondering, are the graphics that show up when they transform somewhere? I would love to make patches for them to use on several things.

Thanks in advance.

About the Whole "Flowers" Thing...

So, when an actor or actress either has to, or chooses to leave a Kamen Rider show (if not the whole franchise), they get a bouquet of flowers supposedly...I repeat, SUPPOSEDLY meaning that their character isn't coming back.

But tell me something...

What happens if this character, whoever he or she is, suddenly does return in a future episode? My understanding is that previous shows have pulled 180s, 360s, 540s, 720s, and all kinds of other stuff in the past that--just saying--have been known to play with the viewers emotions (especially if it determines whether or not a show has a tragic ending, or even an ambiguous one that dodges the issue either way). So, what were to happen if a character, who is supposed to not be coming back ends up coming back after all? Heck, it may not even be the original actor, it could be a different actor who looks similar. Does this character actually stay, or is it just a one time thing where the show twists it around (again), and suddenly this character really isn't coming back?

I guess what I'm trying to say is, is an actor or actress getting flowers really meant to tell everyone that their character really isn't coming back? After all, it would be the kind of plot twist previous shows would do (even if they don't actually do this particular one). Is this sort of thing really as reliable as it looks? Considering that Kamen Rider Zeztz (for instance) is all about dreams and the dream world, what's to stop >!Kureha/Code Number 6!<from suddenly coming back in a later episode. Is the whole "flowers" thing really what it looks like, or is it all really just only a conclusion the viewers came to in the end?

Do they ever get together

Do these two ever get together in the end.

Because i really like to know they hint at it during the show a little bit but i still don't know if it is canon

I went to an iconic filming location today! The Oya Stone Museum!

The place is crazy! If you’re passing through Utsunomiya during a trip to Japan, you have to get there. It’s a 30 minutes bus ride (if you don’t get off at the wrong stop like an idiot) from Utsunomiya station. Ticket is 1000 yen, cash only. Bring a jacket, it’s literally a fridge down there.
