Will and Elfie are two side of the same coin
I love how Omori makes it a parallel and even praise the anime making the scene more symmetrical to reflect what their true goal in all of these and why they push forward

Let’s say, Elfie was born strong but not powerful enough to become a MR on the spot. Will, on the other hand, is in this new reality and has the same position as Elfie suffered in the prime universe
Their personality and care for each other remain the same, just to make things interesting
This is from volume 5 omake
This includes Elfie too just for the fun of it
This isn’t really about overall what make one show superior than others but more what elements about it make it stand out from the other two.
Like, Black Clover has the better magic system, Wistoria has the better romance and Mashle is the better comedy and so on.
Yes, I know people calling Elfie a yandere is usually meant as a joke, and I get why. But for those who genuinely think she is, I’d like to point out a few things about her character that might offer a different perspective.
Elfie Is Obsessive, Not Possessive
By that, I mean Elfie has always had a one-track mind: “How can get Will to spoil me, and how can I protect him?”
Ever since they were little, Elfie has always wanted to be by Will’s side. She roughhoused with him using her ice clones, taught him how to compliment girls (mostly so he’d compliment her), and even surprised him with a kiss when they were around five years old.
After Will began losing his memories from using Wis, her attachment only grew stronger. She became even more protective because she feared that one day he would use Wis again to save her or someone else, and this time there might be no way to recover what he’d lost.
Her obsession comes from fear of losing him, not from wanting to control every aspect of his life.
Elfie Loves Will, But She Still Values Other People
One of the defining traits of a yandere is that they’re willing to harm or eliminate other people for the sake of their love. Elfie doesn’t do that.
The closest she comes is threatening to freeze Kreutz’s office because of the unreasonable conditions placed on Will, or declaring the Thunder Faction her “enemy” after they recruited him. Those moments are played more for comedy and frustration than genuine murderous intent.
Even when other girls show interest in Will, Elfie gets jealous, but she never tries to hurt them. She knows Will treasures his friends, and hurting them would only hurt him.
During the attacks on the city, she wasn’t just concerned only for Will. She was also worried about everyone living there and did everything she could to protect them.
She’s also still a Magia Vander despite desperately wanting to be with Will. Mostly to help Will, but to also protect the world after learning the truth on what they are protecting from.
Would she abandon her duties if Will’s life were in immediate danger? Yes. To Elfie, Will is her world. He’s the one person who has always seen her as simply Elfie, rather than the legendary Magia Vander.
That’s why I think she’s better described as deeply lovestruck, clingy, and overprotective rather than a true yandere.
Yes, he’s very powerful, could become a worthy Magica Vander one day and manage to copy one of Elfie’s powerful spell even if it’s like 1/100 of its strength currently.
However, while I see him as a capable mage, but as a person, he wasn’t very good. The job of the Magica Vander is to keep the seal up and when danger comes, the followers of the MR has to go and help people. And seeing as Julius is very racist and look down on others, how can I trust him to make a right decision if it isn’t base on bias.
Now, if he had became a better person, then yes, I would pick him. Maybe this is just me talking
Not just for their individual personality and arc, but the connection they form to one another throughout the game and story
Guess it sounds how highly they think of each other
Right now, Elfie often is the one who saves Will and protect him either indirectly or directly. Especially back in school where she would fight off the bullies for him. Of course, he does help her either emotional support or that time when they were five. But it would be nice endgame where Will saves Elfie like her knight. Extra bonus if he bride carried her during It.
